Good, I agree. I think the only standard the Church has is to follow what is appropriate for the time and place in our culture.

I wonder then why you speak as though there IS a rule book? For example, you seem to really have it our for 2 piece bathing suits, shorts, tank tops, and mini skirts.

Here’s where you are wrong about me. I’ve never spoken about it as it were a rule book, ever.

I consistently inject words about personal freedom and responsibility and intentions in my postings.

You’ve put me in a category and then you either bend or skip over content that won’t fit into your fixed category. Pray that you’re not in a scientific field.

That’s fine what you think, but that’s not quite the whole tenor of what the Church actually says on the topic of humility, marital chastity, and modesty.

Going back and reinserting for the 100th time a single paragraph from the CCC is not a substantial response to my point here, even if you have that CCC reference in your permanent clipboard.

I am holding my ground on the point of fraternal correction. There is a proper role and way to conduct fraternal corrections.

I suggest you spool up on that aspect of our Christian life in the Body of Christ, in order to understand its origin, purpose, and method.

With respect, I think you are missing my point (the original point about what those like me believe in).

I have no issue with what you say in your second paragraph.

I am holding my ground. There is this assumption by some on CAF that anybody who disagrees with hem does not know anything about the Faith.

Why would anyone have to pray about ever little act in life? Do you pray on eating a piece of choco;ate? We pray that God guides us in our lives. Debora has always said she has never seeen a bikini as immodest so why pray on it. You pray on matters you have doubts on.

Because Scripture tell us to Pray always…(Luke, 2 Thess, Ephesians).

It also tells us to rejoice always.

We should strive to be in constant union - prayer - with God. You know this.
 
I gave a personal example above today of how a priest coached me to turn fleeting temptations into prayer. Works wonders.

You are making uncharitable presumptions about Debora. God’s Truth is His Truth not your. Call it what you want, you are reproaching/attacking Debora personally.

I guess you didn’t read and understand at a practical level my distinctions between a person, their beliefs about truth, and the truth. it’s above. There’s no personal attack…but you need to understand that truth exists outside of our view of it. I even added at the end that there could be other reasons.

Be very careful swinging those accusations.

Really Violette? Which part of the US do you live in? I do not live in the US but do know that a lot of bullying goes on in schools with certain groups preying on “different” and weaker kids. Maybe more in the cities?

You don’t think how we dress is part of guiding our life? I am trying to give all my life to God.

I think a bikini is immodest. She thinks a bikini is modest. But she said that she knows God thinks it is fine. How would you feel if I said I know that God thinks it is wrong? Neither of us knows how God feels.

Small town. But you are not beaten up for carrying books. And you are suspended from school for fighting. Or is it different in the city? We have video cameras in the school and on all school buses. Also, outside of school, it is assault if someone beats you up. Verbal abuse happens all the time. But when it gets physical, charges are pressed.

An example, a kid threatened to beat up another kid on the bus. My son got in the middle. Said that the kid needed to go through him first. It was reported. First question, was whether or not my son touch the bully. If my kid had physically touch the kid, he would have been suspended.

Oh and I forgot to add. Everyone carries books to school so not sure why he would need to hide them. That is why I wondered about the country.
