This is worrisome, especially considering today’s news.

"New Black Panthers: Race War For Trayvon April 9th ‘Day of Action’

On the organizing phone call for their Trayvon Martin April 9th National Day of action protest The New Black Panther Party engaged in violent, racist, hate filled speech. "

Breitbart.com is a racist and thoroughly discredited website that only tries to create more disharmony in our world. They are not part of a charitable debate.

It’s not worrisome unless one wants to feel it is worrisome. THis source is certainly known for seeking out the sensational and profiting of the fear of difference. .
This is Breitbart - not NBC.
This is race baiting by those who acuse others of race-baiting. .
Agreed, that is exactly what the “New” Black Panthers Party is doing.
I believe that many seem to be HOPING for a violent response as it would fit their concept of the minority community.
As asked your insight into this “hope” and a comment on this concept that you claim you know.

Sometimes the exposure of the truth does cause disharmony, does not mean you should continue to live a lie though.

If it is a gated community, visitors usually have to call into the house where they are to visit to get admittance. Or there would be a guard house at the main gate. Seems to indicate to me that one should not just wander thru if that is the case. But here again, we are all stating opinions because we do not have facts. And it would be more prudential if we did not state our opinions as facts.
Please, it is an uncontested fact that the Trayvon was visiting with his father in his father’s girlfriend’s place inside the gated community. To say otherwise tends to smear the victim with hints that somehow he was doing something illegal when he was simply walking back from a store after buying some candy.

The Trayvon story is already falling out of the spotlight.
So the race peddlers have to step up the rhetoric.

It is unfortunate that breitbart has helped provide them voice.

I can’t see where anyone said otherwise - perhaps you can point it out.

let me share an experience i had. in the early morning hours - around 2am - about 5 years ago, i woke up to hear the police helicopter circling above my house. it didn’t leave.
i decided to go out to my back porch (unarmed) to see what was going on. the light was shining across the canal and i figured a home had an attempted breakin or something like that. i heard the voices of the policemen on the canal bank. my porch light was off as i did not want to draw attention and i was still in my night clothes. as i slowly made my way across my screened in back porch, i became aware of somehing on the ground in front of me. i thought it was a pile of clothes or a blanket. all of a sudden, a black young man about my height jumped up right in front of me. another step, i would have stepped on him. i realized he was hiding from the police on my back porch. luckily, he wasn’t armed either. i probably wouldn’t be here today. if i would have been armed with a gun or knife, i would certainly have done whatever i could have to preserve my life. it was a frightening night and i was lucky to be able to run fast and escape, but i kept thinking i saw this person (who had been armed before he and his friend dropped their weapons while being pursued by the police for a drive by shooting) everywhere. all it takes is one bad experience, to make you suspicious of anyone who looks like the person who tried to harm you.
First, it is good that nothing happened to you. I am not quite sure I can see how your story justifies the action of George Zimmerman. You seem to bring up some issues about race. I was very concerned when that teenage mom shot and killed an adult male. There were 2 intruders and if my memory serves me right, I don’t think both of them look like the person who tried to do you harm. Or?

For me, I don’t care how they look like. I was socked by her action and that is when I learned that, in your society, that’s how law enforcement works. I learned that the ‘good guys’ need to be armed to defend themselves from the usually armed ‘bad guys’. She appeared multiple times on TV and I was surprised she didn’t behave like someone who just took away someone’s life. Anyways, society justified her action as an act of self-defense and it’s now an old story. It’s just that her attackers looked different from yours.

In the case of Trayvon and George (as opposed to hers), it seems like people are finding it hard to understand a legitimate justification of George’s action.

Some people refuse to accept there is a legitimate reason - even if GZ was defending his own life. They have a vested interest in claiming otherwise.

Is it likewise uncontested that all he was doing was walking back to his father’s house?

I am just curious since there has been so little actually reported on Trayvon’s actions that night.

If you can’t see the difference between one of the oldest, most respected medical journals and Breitbart.com, then I wish you good luck.
The *New England Journal of Medicine *is one of the oldest and respected medical journals.

Lancet also suggested links between vaccines and autism. So I assume you and your kids didn’t get polio shots?

They also condemed Pope Benedict of distorting scienntific evidence of condom use in the prevention of AIDS (you are Catholic no?)

Lancet=Rag

Did I say anything about Martin being in the place illegally? NO, I did not. I was merely commenting on how gated communities often work. I did not make sweeping generalities. I did not intend, nor have I ever, intended to smear the victim. If his father’s girlfriend lived in the community, he had a right to be there. Did the members of the community know that? Is it possible that he was not recognized? You are judging my comments on what you wanted me to say rather than what I did say. But then that is how the whole matter has been treated far too often in this thread.

So far I’ve seen little in your posts that is charitable. And if you plan on playing the race card you really should provide evidence of your claims from credible sources instead of just touting out the typical liberal smear campaign of labeling something or someone racist.

Maybe you missed it, but people have been saying, wrongly and questionably, that Trayvon was “trespassing” in a gated community, and that is the context of the discussion that you are participating in.

No, not joking. From your own citation earlier…Wikipedia. Enjoy.😉

The Lancet was severely criticized after it published a paper in 1998, in which the authors suggested a link between the MMR vaccine and autism

In January 2006, it was revealed that data had been fabricated in an article[11] by the Norwegian cancer researcher Jon Sudbø and 13 co-authors published in The Lancet in October 2005.[12][13]

In a 2009 editorial, the journal accused Pope Benedict XVI of publicly distorting scientific evidence on condoms to promote Catholic doctrine on chastity in AIDS prevention.[15] The Vatican defended itself by pointing to an earlier Lancet article published in 2000 which asserted that condoms could not possibly be sufficient in solving the AIDS crisis.[16]

No joke.

The Lancet later issued a retraction.

But I do not believe any retraction issued for their Pope article.

This is every parent’s nightmare. I couldn’t continue reading the story after the second paragraph. How many of us have been exactly where Trayvon’s father was that night: waiting for your child to check in, getting angry at him for turning off his cell phone, imagining the worse, and then experiencing that intense feeling of relief when you finally hear your child’s voice once again… only Tracy Martin never did get that last part.

According to this absurd “stand your ground” law, Trayvon Martin would have been justified in killing George Zimmerman. He would have been acting perfectly within his rights to have smashed the guys head to a pulp on the concrete of the sidewalk. **If I were Trayvon’s parents, I would wish he had. **

Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin are better people than I. They have shown the same sort of dignity and courage that characterizes so many of our African-American citizens throughout the hundreds of years of oppression they have experienced in this nation. I believe they should be held in the same sort of honor as Mamie Till Bradley, the mother of Emmett Till, who with great courage insisted that the world see what a horror had been done to her son, her baby, because he was a black boy.

I cannot hear Sybrina Fulton speak without breaking into tears. All she is asking is for justice for her son. That means two things must happen: 1) George Zimmerman must be arrested and tried for manslaughter, 2) this law must be amended to clearly state that if you choose to pursue someone, you will be held fully accountable by the law for any escalation in violence that may occur and whatever consequences result.
She would have gotten “justice” for her son, but Obama, Sharpton and Jackson cant keep thier mouths shut.
Now that they have tainted every jury pool from Sanford to SanDiego there is no way if there is a trial you can have it be fair in any way.
How do you feel now that we found out that little innocent Trayvon was not so little and so innocent?
Florida’s stand your ground law is a good law allowing a fundement right to defend ones self from an attacker.
While I dont agree with what I have “heard” Zimmerman did, it sound like the physical confrontation at the end was something that Trayvon got the ball rolling on and is what got him shot.

Maybe you missed it, but people have been saying, wrongly and questionably, that Trayvon was “trespassing” in a gated community, and that is the context of the discussion that you are participating in.
I must have missed this.
Can you please point out the posts that indicate Tayvon was trespassing?
