Hi, Kelvinf,
According to this link, the NBC producer was fired for his editing: news.yahoo.com/source-nbc-producer-fired-over-zimmerman-911-call-160330268.html
The actual matter in question was the 9-1-1 operator asked Zimmerman to describe the person he was calling aband Zimmerman did without identifying race. The operator then asked Zimmerman if the person was black and Zimmerman said yes. The part that was edited out was the question from the operator for further information. The flow of the tape is that Zimmerman initially provided this information giving the impression he was race conscious and this was part of his initial statements.
Here is an excerpt from the link I provided above:
**NBC’s “Today” show first aired the edited version of Zimmerman’s call on March 27. The recording viewers heard was trimmed to suggest that Zimmerman volunteered to police, with no prompting, that Martin was black: “This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.”
But the portion of the tape that was deleted had the 911 dispatcher asking Zimmerman if the person who had raised his suspicion was “black, white or Hispanic,” to which Zimmerman responded, “He looks black.”**
I do not edit tapes and have enough trouble trying to do a home movie. The editing, however, was done at a time when tensions were already boiling over. In my opinion, the edit could have taken out the operator’s qustion and Zimmerman’s answer if there was a concern about time. But, I do not know. Ultimately, NBC thought what was done was inappropriate.
The matter was part of my earlier post to identify a specific problem with media bias. These riot mongers are feeding off of the free press that they are being given by a media determined that this is the only story they are going to follow - to heck with everything else. I think it is past time for the media to start backing away from the mess they have so profoundly help create. It is time for facts to come out from the people in charge of of law enforcement and the courts.
God bless

If he has been fired, then he probably did something wrong and I don’t know if it was intentional. But I watched a clip on A360 and Anderson stressed at the beginning that, they had edited the 911 calls for time and appropriate content but kept it in sequence. Seems like it was just a matter of the sequence and not the editing per se.
