Potential killers break into your house? Sure, use your gun. I’m not complaining about that.
So, you are only allowed to be safe in your house?

State prosecutors are notorious for overreaching to satisfy pressure from certain groups. Have we forgotten the Duke LaCrosse rape case…that involved many of the same aggitators?
No, I haven’t forgotten that case. As I recall, some people ate crow very publicly, the charges were dropped and nobody was hunted down in the streets.
 
Me too. That is why I have a concealed carry permit.
I’ve had one for 5+ years now, and carried without for longer than that :getholy:. I’ve never even had the inclination of having to use it, and hope that I never do.
 
What about a car parking garage? While you’ve got infant children with you?
Are the public garages in your town so dangerous? Why would you think that malefactors are out to get your children? Are there that many child kidnappings there? If so, you might be justified IMO.
 
I generally behave in a manner that precludes my need to be anywhere around a courtroom.

Oh wait, I was in court on a jury summons. I don’t think that counts though šŸ˜‰

But of all the people I would expect to hear it from, the mother would be the first.
That’s fine, as long as one is a mother, one has ā€œchildren,ā€ even if the ā€œchildā€ has children of her/his own and is over 60 years old! But as for the courts, yes, ā€œminor childā€ is different from ā€œjuvenileā€ or ā€œminor.ā€

And the media should not have been repeating that this was a child, it gives the wrong impression. Imagine if a 45 year old was killed and his mama called him a ā€œchild.ā€ Same principle but he does not legally qualify for that label.

Then why carry one? I’ve owned shotguns for decades, never had the inclination to use it on another human being, and hope that I never do. Ducks and skeet targets are another story, however.

The one I was in was dangerous that night. And that’s all that matters, Rich.

We might carry concealed for 40 years or more with never an incident, but if there comes even one time that you need it you’ll be glad you had it.

Were the New Black Panthers there offering up a $1 million reward with Malik Shabazz telling black folks that they need to get ā€œsuited up, booted up, and armed upā€?

If you want to get out of jury duty, just take one class in legal studies at a community college. The second a lawyer knows that you have at least the foggiest notion of what you are supposed to do as a jurist, they will cut you loose.

Straight up, although my 11 year old son schools me in skeet ever time we go to the range. I get him on trap, but he is a whiz with a single shot 20 gauge.

That wasn’t asked in my case. And they can’t dismiss everyone. So even if I have had a class, if it isn’t asked, and others are dismissed, I still may have to serve.
