Is that to mean that Martin did something suspicious because he didn’t call 911?
From all I’ve read and heard so far, yes, he was acting suspiciously. From all I’ve been reading and hearing so far, he very well may have had good reason to shy away from authorities.

I expect that it’s only a matter of time before a trial. I hope that the court only admits relevant evidence, and that this evidence represents Zimmerman accurately – but more so for Martin, because he doesn’t have the benefit of telling his side of the story.
That’s the real pity here. His side of the story will never be told.

I have no idea how this case is going to turn out, but I suspect it’s going to be impossible to try, because it’s already being tried on TV. TV personalities are interviewing people who lawyers would otherwise have to subpoena and be subject to the discovery process. That will still happen, of course, but now there’s so much stuff floating around that I think it may be a defense lawyer’s dream–jury pool contamination–nationally!–all sorts of leads for witnesses. It may be a mess, but as long as we have slow news days, it will feed the media. At least until something else happens to grab their attention, like an Israeli strike on Iran.

Care to share the particulars on the innocent dead child you are referring to?

I just watched photos and video of the scene’s layout and it seems pretty clear that Trayvon was followed for a considerable distance. If someone wants to call that hunting, I guess that’s there prerogative. I’d rather stick to neutral language.
That dangerous prerogative supports premeditation and was uttered in the company of many who lead the charge of racism against Zimmerman. It was not denounced in any way and has been repeated.

There is such a thing as forensic evidence. I don’t think that, or commonsense, favor the defense lawyers. Blood is still blood and a bullet trajectory is still a bullet trajectory, one month later or 10 years later.

You can do your own search here in various posts and online. Then you may thank me for the enlightenment. 🙂
From my experience on this forum, people usually back up their comments (especially those with a negative connotation) with some sort of basis.

Forgive me if I’ve missed it, but have you denounced the multiple negative allegations against the dead, innocent, young man?

From my experience on this forum, people, (including myself) get bored with redundancy, so, again, you’re free to seek out the information again, if you wish.

Uh, I think we can be pretty certain of that…According to ALL the reports coming out thus far, this young man was yakking to his girlfriend on the phone at the time of the incident. When the altercation became physical TM dropped his phone, it went dead and he called no one. Do you think that with the public release of the many tapes of people calling and speaking to a 911 operator, TM called them too but the police went out of their way to hide TMs so the public would think poorly of Trayvon?
I will not repeat rumors, but I have reason to leave room for the possibility that he at least attempted to call 911. We have no details from any investigation, so we have to be open to unexpected revelations. Just in the last 2 days, witnesses have appeared on TV who had not been in the media before this. Anything is possible.

Not necessarily, unless, of course, Zimmerman had been moving in such a way that allowed the blood to drip down onto the sidewalk. It doesn’t matter anyway because the police (and I assume the ambulance crew) witnessed the injuries, they’re documented and we can clearly see an injury on the back of Z’s head. Anyone who is still arguing that Z doesn’t have an injury to the back of his head is just making things up and grasping at straws in order to support their side of the debate. :sad_yes:
If your head is bashed onto a pavement to the point that it splits open and bleeds, the pavement will not necessarily be at least spotted with blood?! I guess, maybe not…if the gravitational field reversed at that instant and sucked every trace of the assault into outer space…

You would call about a white person doing something suspicious. Trayvon was described as being suspicious without any indication he was* doing *anything suspicious. That, my friend, is the key difference. You don’t even know that he was walking on the lawns. Besides, I have lived in such neighborhoods with lawns that are practically common areas that children gather to play in.

I can’t count the number of responses tonight that have perfectly proved my point: if he had not been black (or whatever the ‘suspect’ ethnicity happened to be in that area), he would not have been followed for DOING NOTHING WRONG.
I get your points.

All my life, day and night, I’ve seen teens and young adults, criss-crossing
over lawns. It’s usually called ‘taking a shortcut’ and I’ve never heard it called
suspicious behavior. If gated communities are to be viewed as armed camps,
then I hope the groups will start posting signs to that effect.

Are we talking about my behavior? I’m not leading a charge to convict in the court of the media as they are. To remind you though I’ve said if Zimmerman is found by a court of law to be guilty he should fully pay the price, and he definetly could be guilty. However, looking to find bad behavior to justify other bad behavior is weak.

No, I definitely do not believe in justifying bad behavior by reference to bad behavior. However, I do believe in taking the log out of my eye first.

I have to commend you for taking a stand Catharina. Followed you for days. A child is dead and that should be the paramount consideration.

If, if…there is no justification for directing profanities at anyone, let along a stranger.
it is not right to call anyone names, but i admit that as a human, i have done it often. right now as i’m typing this, i am still thinking that people that trespass are ah*l. i think most people would agree with me even though they might use a different word. it’s a violation and people don’t like it.

again, i am not saying i know for sure that trayvon was doing that, but if i had witnessed someone doing it, i would mutter that.

You might not believe in it but you did it anyway. Wheres the log in my eye as it relates to this case? Neither one of us were there.

I’m sure there are some posters here, myself included, who’ve suffered an injury that took a few moments to bleed, including one injury that not only required stiches on the outside but also had to stitch a tendon as well.

And, no, the sidewalk doesn’t have to have had blood on it, though this is a moot point because, as you seem to have forgotten, the authorities have viewed and documented Zimmerman’s injuries, as well as his head injury being visible in the arrest tape. It doesn’t matter what some people in the viewing public claim they can’t see.
