2477 Respect for the reputation of persons forbids every attitude and word likely to cause them unjust injury. He becomes guilty:
  • of rash judgment who, even tacitly, assumes as true, without sufficient foundation, the moral fault of a neighbor
2264 Love toward oneself remains a fundamental principle of morality. Therefore it is legitimate to insist on respect for one’s own right to life. Someone who defends his life is not guilty of murder even if he is forced to deal his aggressor a lethal blow:
If a man in self-defense uses more than necessary violence, it will be unlawful: whereas if he repels force with moderation, his defense will be lawful. . . . Nor is it necessary for salvation that a man omit the act of moderate self-defense to avoid killing the other man, since one is bound to take more care of one's own life than of another's.

Zimmerman did kill a child.
No one can argue with that fact.
Zimmerman admits it as he should.
He called it self defense - yet nevertheless
he killed a child. Who can dispute that?
But you “accused NO ONE”. Got it.

Of course.

It has yet to be determined if this was a case of self defense.
There are multiple ongoing investigations at this moment as
to the theory of self defense. There is no doubt at all that
a killing took place and as a result, a child died.

As far as I am concerned, this case is a microcosmic look at the real state of race relations in this country.
I think in some ways you are right. But it is also us (majority) who are not racist responding to the fringe on either side.

Like politics- the fringe is driving the conversation.

Forget race and forget Trayvon Martin’s age. We have a situation where a man in his prime gives himself permission over a 9-11 dispatcher’s instructions to chase someone smaller than he is, someone was who had not done anything to him, someone he had not witnessed doing anything illegal, and in the end shot his quarry dead, and then called it self-defense?

So someone could find me suspicious, chase me, try to detain me, and if I resisted or tried to defend myself, they could shoot me dead on the spot? If there were no direct witnesses of the shooting, they could claim self-defense and not even be arrested? Really? Take out race, take out age, take out gender…In most places, there would be demonstrations in the street if a police officer did that to any private citizen!!

I don’t know about anybody else, but if that’s the way things can be done in Florida, I’m not in any hurry to visit there, because the vigilantes will have been given carte blanche by the laws of the state of Florida. I will consider myself warned. If any stranger looks like they’re on drugs, looks like they could commit a crime, I’ll know that the good citizens of Florida have permission to chase 'em, grab 'em, and if they try to resist, shoot 'em. Have no fear Crime-Stoppers…it’s self defense!

I tell you what: It will be one way to end this whole “Spring Break” madness they have had to put up with every year!

Yep.

Don’t forget those frightening hoodies either.

Yep. “Could mean” as I said.
Zimmerman “could have” discontinued the following which others have stated. That “could have” is unacceptable to you. Remember when you said “I DON"T BELIEVE IT”. Your “could mean” is wholeheartedly embraced because it fits your view of events.

In addition, regarding the tone of conversation.

The internet tends to strip off some of the politeness and gracious nature we may have in RH.

I saw a segment I liked on CNN. These two pundits were really going at it around this Martin case. Raising their voices and what not. One was white and the other black. So after they got into it they were shown at a local tavern enjoying a beverage together laughing and enjoying themselves.

We should all be able to do that, but this medium doesn’t lend itself to polite exchange.

Zimmerman killed a boy.
Zimmerman said so without denial.
I agree with Zimmerman in this.

Question remains as to whether “self defense” applies.
You accused him of killing a “child” , you know that. Your throwing in the “question remains” aspect of it now which was the furthest thing from any of your original points.

There is no statement to the police by anyone that says that Zimmerman chased Martin or tried to detain him. 🤷 Do you have additional evidence that there was a chase or that Zimmerman attempted a citizens arrest?

There was a witness saying that Martin was beating Zimmerman.

Nope.
I accuse him as Zimmerman accuses himself.
It is what happened.

“Question remains” is reason for the NEW investigations.
I welcome the new investigations. Everyone should.

Forget race and forget the ages. We have a situation where a man, living in a community that has experienced a rash of break in crimes recently, communicates with a 9-11 dispatcher that, while serving in the neighborhood watch, has observed a large man wearing a hoodie who he believes is acting suspiciously. When asked if he is pursuing the person, he answers “Yes” and is told “We don’t need you to do that” to which he responds “Okay”. Zimmerman is also legally in possession of a licensed firearm. After being told by the dispatcher that he shouldn’t follow the person, he heads back to his SUV.

On his way back to his vehicle, the person whom he spotted earlier confronts him, supposedly saying “Do you have a problem?” and then proceeds to assault him, breaking his nose, knocking him to the ground, and hitting his head on the concrete sidewalk. Several witnesses observe or hear Zimmerman’s calls for help. When it becomes apparent that the large, athletic man intends to continue his violent assault and no one is answering his pleads for help, he withdraws his firearm and takes care of the threat.

Do I have a right to patrol my neighborhood in an effort to deter a rash of crimes that has been happening there? If I have a legal license to carry a concealed weapon, is it not acceptable for me to carry one, particularly in a situation where someone who is intent on committing crime may not appreciate my efforts to deter them? If I see someone who appears to be acting suspiciously (wearing dark clothing, concealing his face, cutting across people’s property), is it okay for me to call 911 to report the issue, while at the same time trying to keep tabs on the person who is acting out of place? If someone violently attacks me, is it okay for me to call for help and then stop the attack by whatever means necessary if I feel like my life is in danger?

Wow, this “make up your own narrative” is a fun game. I am surprised more of you aren’t doing it. 🤷

Yes, I agree. However my spelling and typing is poor when I’m sober so. . . .

Added- I like that: “my logic would deteriorate.” 🙂

I’m jusht gonna wax pholoshical here for a while here. . . .

No. You accuse Zimmerman because of your previous posts. Read them from beginning to end. You’ve come around to new evidence. Good.
