Bible Verses About The Trinity
From the beginning of creation in Genesis to the end of times in Revelation, God refers to Himself as “us” or “our” and thus describes the doctrine of the Trinity. The word trinity comes from “tri” meaning three and “unity” meaning one. God is three distinct individuals - God the Father, the Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit - in one true God. The below Bible verses and Scriptures about the trinity will help you have a better understanding of who God is. It can be a difficult concept to grasp, yet we can believe God’s word and know that while His ways are higher than ours, we can trust in Him!

1 Corinthians 8:6
6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

2 Corinthians 3:17
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
2 Corinthians 13:14
14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
Colossians 2:9
9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,
Isaiah 9:6
6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 44:6
6 “This is what the LORD says— Israel’s King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty: I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God.
John 1:14
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 10:30
30 I and the Father are one.”
Luke 1:35
35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.
Matthew 1:23
23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).

Matthew 28:19
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Matthew 3:16-17
16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

Well that is reserved to Mother Mary

Psalm 45:9 daughters of kings are among your ladies of honor;
at your right hand stands the queen in gold of Ophir.

The verses you give prove only that
  1. the Father is not the Son,
  2. the Son is not the Holy Spirit,
  3. the Holy Spirit is no the Father.
It also proves that
4. the Father is God. 1 Corinthians 8:6.
5. the Son is God.

Douay-Rheims Bible John 1:1-3 and John 1:14.
[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] The same was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made by him: and without him was made nothing that was made.
6. The son which is God, it is also the Son of the God. Luke 1:35

That means we have 2 different Gods

The Son God and the Fatter God. Are not one. It is clear.

The verses you give do not prove that the Holy Spirit is a God

I read the Bible more than one times until today. I am not speaking only for the New Testament but also the Old Testament.

If you have something in mind that proves that the father the son and the Holy Spirit are on God, please post the references and we speak about.
This is proven systematically, so your approach of taking one or two verses then immediately using those to deny the Trinity is the wrong way to go. As mentioned, all you have shown is that Jesus is not the the Father, and this is something we already accept. Therefore, you have not disproven anything.

Now let’s take your interpretation of John 1:1. You said we have two different Gods. But that’s also contrary to Scripture. If you claim there are two Gods, then how do you take Deuteronomy 6:4, 1st Corinthians 8:4 and 1st Timothy 2:5?

The Bible is clear: there is only one God. So if you read from John 1:1 that Jesus and the Father are two Gods, you are wrong.

And let’s not even get to the Holy Spirit yet. As already said, we do this systematically. We deal with the Son first. It should be shown that: the Son is not the Father, but the Son is God.

You mean the Pentecost fire on their heads. But still they were having wrong understandings. Even Saint Paul later was correcting them.
I am not sure about where you got your understanding or interpretation…

The apostles were not perfect individuals, and were humans and sinned…what St. Paul corrected was a moral failing of Peter…not what he taught.

There is a difference. They would be guided to the truth…but not to be perfect humans.

The outer nodes and their connections is the base for our conversation. I believe on that. You belie

I have not found a verse that the Holy Spirit is God. Could you post a verse from the Holy Bible claiming that?
Look at Gen 1: verse 2.

Where does the Bible say that you could find everything in the Bible? I think you have to prove this first.

That means that also their interpretations might be not 100% right. And also the interpretation of the bishops about trinity might be not 100% right.

Douay-Rheims Bible
Genesis 1:1-5

[1] In the beginning God created heaven, and earth. [2] And the earth was void and empty, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the spirit of God moved over the waters. [3] And God said: Be light made. And light was made. [4] And God saw the light that it was good; and he divided the light from the darkness. [5] And he called the light Day, and the darkness Night; and there was evening and morning one day.

It the verse you said genesis 1:2 does not prove that the Holy Spirit is God.

It says that the spirit of God moved over the waters.

How do you know that they guided from the Holy Spirit? You can not prove it. It has been claimed but not proved.

Before we accept something wouldn’t be better to follow the example of the Bereans?
Read

Douay-Rheims Bible
The Acts Of The Apostles 17:11
[11] Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, who received the word with all eagerness, daily searching the scriptures, whether these things were so.

Csst0286 . . .
I am trying to understand the perspective that the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit are one entity.
.

(Disclaimer. I have only read your question and a couple other responses).

There are Truths that are “mysteries”.

That means that they are BEYOND Human natural understanding.

Q: OK Cathoholic. Then WHY do we believe in the Trinity?

A: Because God Himself told us about this concept. And continues to tell us about it via His Church.

Q: So I should just forget about it and believe right?

A: No. We can and should strive to go DEEPER into this mystery . . . . But always realizing . . . a MYSTERY it will remain.

God bless.

Then, if their interpretations are not 100% right…then neither are your interpretations…and neither is anybody else.

So now you have a problem…if your interpretation is not coreect…and the catholic bishops are not, as you claim…then where would you find the correct interpretation?

Don’t you see it…the spirit of God is the one that moved over the waters…not God…so there is a spirit of God…which we now call the Holy Spirit.

Now also look at John 1…v32…John saw the Spirit descend from heaven…so there is a Spirit…which we now refer to as the Holy Spirit.

`

We know they were guided by the Holy Spirit because Jesus promised the guidance into all truth of the Church…otherwise, the gates of hell…or error has permeated the Church…which God/Jesus/Holy Spirit would not allow…and this we have faith in this promise.

Even here, you misinterpret the Story of the Bereans…and youtake out verses out of context and isolate verses.

You should read their story from v1…when Paul was in Thessalonica.

So starting in v10… The Bereans were not yet Christians when Paul and Silas arrrived, the Bereans were Hellenistic Jews…and they had no concept of sola scriptura…nor the Bible as you have it today…they had the Jewish Scriptures…the OT.

And they were noble minded because of their eagerness to receive the word from Paul…not the written word…there was no Bible yet…but the oral teaching of Paul. This much is clear from the passage…it was their being open minded and willingness to listen that made then noble.

Did ever Jesus explained himself as three different entities?
Your question is a premeditated provocation.
According to the teaching Jesus is one person inside the Holy Trinity. He is the Son of the Father.
Can someone find a verse in Holy bible, where Jesus was teaching that he was three entities?
You keep singing the same false tunes. Believe it or not, the idea of the Holy Trinity is not explicit in the Bible. Still, it is valid and not in contradiction with other teachings or the Scripture. It is the teaching of the Catholic Church and many other denominations. Like it or not. Period!

No, it does not mean we have 2 different Gods. You distort and provoke again. If you think this is what is written, then you are a polytheist.
Is not in the Holy Bible!
Please, do not take the name of the Holy Bible in vain. For you the Scripture looks like a tool of distortion and provocation. It is not your kind of thing then. Bye!

Still you cannot prove the trinity. You accuse me only that I take verses out of context and I isolate them.
Isn’t the same what you do, to prove me the dogma of trinity?

If the guided from Holy Spirit, we don’t know it.

Since we also know about the atrocities in the name of God. Take a look for Christian crusades.

Jesus will never agree of what happened those days.

So you can’t say that the Holy Spirit was guiding the church, even when they were took the decisions for what they had to believe.

My friend,
like it or not,

You have never searched what the Holy Bible says.

I already posted a lot of verses about,
  1. that Father is not Jesus,
  2. Jesus is not the Holy Spirit
  3. The Holy Spirit is not the Father
  4. Father is God
  5. Son is God but also Son of The God, that means 2 different Gods.
  6. No one posted a verse that says that the Holy Spirit is God.
Read better more carefully. Period

Don"t you know there is only One God,but three Divine Persons but united in Love.yet there is One God .You and i are like a speck in the universe, are you trying to comprehend and understand through an human intellect, don"t doubt like ST Thomas did before his Faith us restored.
can you know (Sirach 1:3 The height of heaven, the breadth of the earth, the abyss, and wisdom—who can search them out? ) How can you try to understand God.Humble yourself and ask Jesus to revel it to you in spirit, and even if not, just believe like a Child of God

Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord.

Mark 12:29 Jesus answered, “The first is, ‘Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one;

1 John 5:6 This is he that came by water and blood, Jesus Christ: not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit which testifieth, that Christ is the truth.7 And there are three who give testimony in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost. And these three are one.8 And there are three that give testimony on earth: the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three are one.9 If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater. For this is the testimony of God, which is greater, because he hath testified of his Son.

Sirach 3:17-24 My child, perform your tasks with humility; then you will be loved by those whom God accepts.18 The greater you are, the more you must humble yourself; so you will find favor in the sight of the Lord.20 For great is the might of the Lord; but by the humble he is glorified.21 Neither seek what is too difficult for you, nor investigate what is beyond your power.22 Reflect upon what you have been commanded, for what is hidden is not your concern 23 Do not meddle in matters that are beyond you,for more than you can understand has been shown you.24 For their conceit has led many astray, and wrong opinion has impaired their judgment.
