Something tells me imprisonment of Hillary Clinton isn’t the imprisonment he was concerned about in firing Comey.
Of course not. If it had anything to do with Clinton, he could have fired him Jan 20. This is May.

Half the country is probably glad. The other half will just put it in the queue of “what can we say to make the Trump Administration look bad today” news slot.

Personally, I don’t think he should have kept him on in the first place and believe it would’ve eventually turned into a very bad mistake.
The latter “half” would be the ones who would still support this guy even if he shot someone on Fifth Ave.

There’s Reason to be Skeptical of the Comey Effect

But it’s now clear that Mrs. Clinton was weaker heading into Oct. 28 than was understood at the time. Several other polls were conducted over the same period that showed Mr. Trump gaining quickly on Mrs. Clinton in the days ahead of the Comey letter. And the timing of these polls — particularly the gap between when they were taken and when they were released — has probably helped to exaggerate the effect of Mr. Comey’s letter on the presidential race.

So maybe Comey didn’t hurt Clinton’s chances.

Maybe not but Trump supporters certainly liked the red meat Comey threw at them.

I think he is still cleaning up from the Obama administration.

We need an FBI director that doesn’t flip flop. I think Trump wants someone who is steadfast and trustworthy. Personally, I didn’t really trust Comey. Obama hired him
in 2013.

Another repugnant move by the most repugnant administration in my lifetime.
And he didn’t even have the decency to do it in person or at least when Comey wasn’t out of town. What a COWARD. “Repugnant” doesn’t even begin to cover it.

“Trustworthy” = will help lock up Hillary.

Comey more than proved his trustworthiness.

You could say that. Earlier in the day it was reported that he was ready to admit that Weiner didn’t send “hundreds and thousands” of emails to his wife.

So why did he spend a week going through them?

What a crazy day.

Trump tagged her as “Crooked Hillary.” Common knowledge. He also promised to lock her up. Also common knowledge.
He wanted to lock her up for deleting emails. But she didn’t delete them. Not for lack of trying though. 🙂

Yet another thing in an ever-growing list of odd things from Trump that makes me see as if he’s getting nervous. I’d be shocked if he makes it to 2020.

👍👍

Wow, the fake news is really out of control. Now they are claiming that Trump fired FBI director James Comey because he was unfair to crooked Hillary Clinton. Do they seriously think that after all these months anyone is going to believe that? It’s not like the Clinton campaign is currently under investigation by the FBI and Comey was all set to testify in open session about it next week.

Trump made abundantly clear he won’t lock her up. Move on.
Isn’t it really up to the JUSTICE Department to get to the bottom of HRC’s mishandling of classified information? (I hate it when people refer to her actions as simple e-mails…!)
I mean, even though Trump kept bringing it up during the election… it’s not up to the President to press charges, is it? Just asking…

Where are they going to find a real independent?
Who is even going to look for a special prosecutor?

This story is HUGE with shades of Watergate when Nixon fired his FBI director Archibald Cox.

I did not approve of Comey’s handling of Hillary Clinton’s email scandal, nor of his bringing up the matter again so close to the presidential election. But you can bet your bottom dollar that is not why Trump fired him at this moment (and in such an unprofessional way so that Comey was not even aware of the firing before the media) and all in one day with so little written in the letter, which also made a point of saying it was NOT because of the investigation!

This is lousy politics on the part of the Trump administration and worse policy. And apparently on the advice of the Attorney General to boot.

Don’t worry. I’m sure Trump’s new FBI Director Ted Nugent will get to the bottom of the possible Russia connection.
