Because Trump could be wrong about the number. Or he could have meant thousands were cheering all over the world (and they were). The point was, I think, not so much about numbers but about aliens in this country who are cheering for us being attacked.

But there were Muslims among the 3000 who died in NYC that day, so why bring it up, except to create a bias, which someone already mentioned?
 
I watched the footage that day too from when I woke up until late night. My husband was actually supposed to be in downtown Manhattan that day but his schedule had been changed. My good friend’s husband was hurt but not seriously, thank God.

My oldest was just 2 months old.

I did not see any “we interrupt showing you the footage of the disaster to breaking news of thousands and thousands of Muslims cheering in Jersey City.” By the way, Jersey City isn’t the Jersey Shore.
 
That’s because they were busy evacuating many if not most of the high-rise buildings that day. ( I know they were in Chicago.) There were 4 attacks on Sep 11 and no one knew when or if they would stop. People were running and/or crying, not cheering.

Since Twitter is media it is incorrect to say the media is reduced. Media has two different connotations, ‘media’ as in ‘a form of mass communication’ which is being enhanced by Trump’s independent use of Twitter and ‘media’ as a shorthand for the established media, especially from a Conservative perspective the lying Left wing media. It is their power which is being reduced, praise God

What is reduced is the spin that can be reported by lying Left wing media sites who have previously, in years gone by, gone unchallenged. Trump is reaching the people through Twitter. Since Twitter messages are so small, the lying Left wing media have little choice but to report the message and there is thus less room for their lies. Sure, at the moment they are trying to make fun of Trump’s use of Twitter because they know their ability to lie is being reduced.

A great step forward for everyone except the lying Left wing media.

Twitter will never hold the powerful to account. But it can enable the powerful to tell the story they want to tell at the exclusion of all others. That’s what happens in a place like North Korea where there is no “lying press” to report on what Kim Jung-un doesn’t want his people to know.

I agree with you that Left wing politics tends to authoritarian mindsets like North Korea. The lying press in North Korea is the Leftist press.

I expect if there is Twitter in North Korea then it is heavily controlled by the Leftist government with its communist party members running the media. This is so that lies can be managed. They too would be horrified by a free Twitter in the same way China does not allow regular Google to operate.

To allow free exchange on Twitter in North Korea would be a huge step forward but one the Leftist mentality, when in power is uncomfortable with.

Twitter in western countries cannot be said to be ‘at the exclusion of all other forms of media’. That is just incorrect.

It’s all quite ridiculous. As if the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Memphis Police Department didn’t have a role in Martin Luther King’s murder! As if Hillary Clinton was ever at any point in time a “legitimate” candidate! And the defenders of these criminal, entirely Satanic elements have the unmitigated audacity and gall to attack Trump for being less fit than themselves of holding office!

Of course Twitter is not the sole means for people to get news. In addition we have a strong, independent, investigative professional press - the very thing you wish would go away, or at the very least, become severely hobbled.

I get some of my news from Twitter.

I follow verified accounts of various journalists. Although there is a cap on how many characters, they can link to articles that are full length.

What I stay away from is the responses. A lot of weird trolling going on.

Twitter is a fine way to get news - if you use it the way you said. But those journalist that you follow got to be in that position of respect by working in a free and independent and professional press.
