Well, considering your post was devoted largely to bragging about your intellect and education.Contrsting that to your uneducated r Republican relatives’,I found it amusing that basic grammar has escaped you.😏

Speculative…
Hardly, and not even unreasonable. He was presented as functional and capable, though obviously light on experience. I was happy we elected a person of color. My disappointment was he didn’t walk his talk.

He got his Peace Prize because of his color, not his accomplishments (sound speculation)

Many people voted for Obama just because he was black. He was making history.
There were probably some people who would not vote for Obama because he was black, too.

Who knows, it might have balanced out in the end.

They changed their stance when Sarah Palin became McCain’s running mate, not that she was running for president. But they expressed fear that voting for McCain would put her a heartbeat away from becoming president.
As you in particular might expect, being familiar with the state, Palin was immensely popular where I live; more so with women than with men. And I don’t know a single woman who would vote a particular way because her husband told her to. Nor do I know any men who would be so presumptuous as to purport to dictate to their wives how they should vote.

Al Capp didn’t invent Mammy Yokum out of the whole cloth.

This mildly reminds me of the G.W. Bush vs. Kerry election. Protestant Bush was far more obedient to Catholic teachings than was Catholic Kerry. I work with prolife organizations, and it’s not a terribly uncommon phenomenon.

Wow aren’t you humble!
Lest I get called out for doing what DVDS was criticized for doing,I have to mention,It would be,my wife and I ,not me and my wife, just saying…
His is a prime example of the elitist attitude of liberals. I could easily say the same about inner city liberals. But that would be racist.

Right, we’re all elitists.

And here I was thinking I was just a regular guy, happy that I got scheduled for a bunch of OT over the upcoming holiday weekend so I can afford day camp for my oldest girl this summer, and tuition, since I think she’ll get a better education at our local Orthodox school than the local public school.

And on Saturday I have to change the oil in my 15-year-old car. And, if my wife agrees to take the girls by herself Saturday night, I’ll get to hang with some old friends and have a pint or two in a bar on Queens Boulevard.

Silly me. I guess I’m a member of the elite. Who knew?

Sorry, I did not mean to offend you. I should have said “many, but not all” liberals.

How about we all just drop the stereotyping? Saying that all, or most, or many, liberals have an elitist attitude is pretty much the same as saying all, or most, or many, Trump supporters are alt-right racists.

It’s “othering,” and it’s destroying the political discourse of this nation.

Seems it was Joshua Lord who instigated this stereotyping. His troll like comment re his uneducated Republican relatives is the most gross type of stereotyping. Sadly,he isn’t the only liberal I’ve heard spew these comments. Liberals are elitist. One stereotype that has been proven time and again.

Wow! You sound like me.

So I’m an elitist? Or a member of the elite?

Do you think that? I really want to know. I am, after all, what you’d call a “liberal.”

And, as to “spewing” comments, you should hear some of the nasty stuff I’ve heard from Trump supporters. Doesn’t mean I think you’re out there spewing nastiness, and I’m sure you appreciate that. Why won’t you extend the same courtesy to others?

Well, now your back to being smart-alecky again.
No, actually, I’m not. Just pointing out, mostly for others reading the thread, that there’s quite a bit of common ground between liberals and conservatives.

I wasn’t being smart-alecky at all. I was entirely serious.
