Which was that. If you missed the content, I will be happy to try to elaborste.
Reading his words allows you to note the words that he uses. Conjecturing why he uses the word she does, in particular dismissing the use as his " … think[ing] big words make him sound intelligent …" that requires mind reading.
The above can be quite neatly condensed down to “Nuh-uh”.

No. These words clarified where the poster departed from objective reality and began to make stuff up about what is in George Will’s mind. Ridgerunner seemed to miss that.

Sure they did. (That was me, by the way. Forget so soon?)

You identity was immaterial to the discussion with Ridgerunner.
…but not to the discussion with me? Do you regularly refer to other people as “the poster” to their faces when talking about the posts they make? I’m so confused.

…but not to the discussion with me?
You decided to enter the discussion with Ridgerunner for whatever reason. In that discussion, your identity as the poster being discussed had not become relevant.

I feel like I’m arguing with a computer…

You nailed it. The words are right, but put them together, they make no sense. It’s also programmed to have the last word, no matter how nonsensical the response.

I didn’t say it, so conjecturing that I thought it requires mind reading.

a staunch conservative, George Will.
No, he’s not a “staunch conservative” That’s kinda funny that you think so.
His views are sometimes conservative, sometimes moderate.
He’s the token conservative that liberal media likes.

I’d say Thomas Sowell is a staunch conservative.

No you did not. The post of mine that you responded to was my response to this post:
This guy thinks big words make him sound intelligent.
You may or may not agree with this poster. But that is the post that I said required some mind-reading - a claim that you decided to dispute. If you find Will saying something like: “I think using big words makes mr sound intelligent”, then you have a vaild point. Absent that, you don’t.

Same as a special place in Hell for women who don’t support women? Oh, that was Madeline Albright. But it was Hill’s rally…

His troll like comment re his uneducated Republican relatives is the most gross type of stereotyping. Sadly,he isn’t the only liberal I’ve heard spew these comments. Liberals are elitist. One stereotype that has been proven time and again.
I’d say brainwashed into the political correct religion that they think is the moral rubric for interaction. This is the source of their (supposed) elitism.

Strange that they think it would have currency on a Catholic forum.

Typical of the left. Nobody can have opinions but them. No one can make judgments, even of obvious things, but them.

I’m highly educated! It’s values. God uses His children, even yet as sinners. He directs their agenda for His glory. If you are part of RESISTANCE, you are against USA. His policies have positive outcomes. He multi tasks. You see chaos. We see much accomplishment. Tariffs to get trade on the same trading scale. A little uproar during adjustments. No more wide deficits. We need to make our own steel. (Obvious reasons). Korea still moving & positive. IRAN was a trade deal w a small nuke promise of 7 yrs. IRAN using $$ to help terrorism.
Tax cuts, unemployment down. Salaries increasing, bonuses, increasing benefits.
Gas is going up! Speculators(?) Green effect=increase cost, decrease usage, decrease CO2emission & help the ozone. ??? We are exporting oil! Is buying others oil, cheaper than using our own(?) OR we sell ours at a higher price, which profit goes into the treasury. (?). We’ll deal! Gotta go
Blessings

Typical of RR to stereotype with precious little evidence.

But the claim at issue was not expressed as an opinion. And if it were an opinion, its foundation involved facts that could only be known by reading Will’s mind. The mind-reading habit is not a meritorious one.

Such a crock. As human beings, we must gather information through our senses and process it in our brains. That’s all we have. It has served us reasonably well in surviving to the present day and in determining what is likely true versus what is likely false.

It’s not “mind reading” to gain an impression of some writer’s state of mind. Indeed, it is generally considered a mark of a good writer if he conveys his thoughts and state of mind with some degree of clarity.

George Will’s excessive use of language suggests his motivations in using it. I would not accuse him of failing to express his state of mind when writing about Trump, a state of mind which he has made clear in many ways and on many occasions.
