These guys got what was coming to them from Trump.

It is interesting that no leftist Democrats condemned them but only on Trump. The reason is obvious. If they did, it means they were saying pretty much the same thing they were saying to Trump and that would basically admitting culpability.
What are you claiming that they said or did that provoked this retaliation?
 
I frankly don’t care about Trump’s half-thought out tweets but the fact anyone can defend this is startling. Trump has shown himself to be unrepentant and untransformed. It doesn’t matter if this is for show or a distraction, this is not the way for anyone to behave especially a person calling himself a Presbyterian.
Trump created this distraction and it is working out just as planned.
Exactly. He claimed the healthcare bills are going so well when in reality they aren’t. Still divided. He sets up extremely unattainable goals then reality responds and he has to find a way to distract the public. The media are foolish enough to fall for it and spend an inordinate amount of time on name-calling.
This is why I think people need to be saying stuff like “Ted Cruz 2020” rather than “Trump 2020”.

This is the way middle-school (junior-high school) children often speak to one another.
Don’t be so generous. Trump has said he’s proud that he’s the same person he was in first grade, that he hasn’t changed or grown as a person since then.
 
What President Trump said on twitter was rude and offensive and there is no excusing it. As for 2020, he said worse things prior to the 2016 election probably than those tweets today and he still won. There are clearly a lot of people in America willing to overlook rude offensive tweets or other comments.
I agree with this scathing indictment of American voters.
 
Our President, the man living in the People’s House, is spending his time watching the Morning Show and tweeting. Shouldn’t he be taking care of the people’s business? Running this great country is a big job involving the making of important decisions that are very consequential for a great number of people. He should be focusing on his job - not watching TV and making petty tweets.
He’s not capable of the job. It’s been made clear many times he cares more about TV than governing (just yesterday he was more concerned with CNN than the possible Syrian chemical attacks his administration was warning about). A man who has to have intelligence briefings shortened to a page or two with lots of pictures, and whose military and intelligence advisors have discovered if they include his name in every paragraph he might actually read to the end of a document, is probably better off watching TV than doing more damage to the country.

Actually Limbaugh said this the other day on teh radio: this turning the other cheek stuff isn’t working out for us.

Any yet he has a big following among the so-called Christian conservatives.
 
Would a Trump hater ITT please explain to me exactly when it’s OK for an American politician to govern by Christian teachings and when that is wrong. Because I hear constantly from liberals that there must be a separation of Church and State and that “theocracy” is the worst form of government ever. This happens especially whenever a politician talks about protecting the right to life based upon his religious beliefs, or about protecting religious liberty and the freedom of conscience for religious people, or whenever a ten commandments’ monument exists near a courthouse. But it also appears that liberals are very keen for Trump to basically be a choir boy as well. Apparently liberals also believe that Jesus was a socialist and therefore socialism is good…

Yes, well, John Adams did not say those things to the entire population of the world. There was no audiotaping, videotaping, or tweeting. Instead, if jibes like that became public, the object of your insults might give you the choice between a retraction and getting shot.

On the topic of adultery and men who live in glass houses, let’s put Marla Maples aside for just a moment. Why would someone who supports a man who bragged about trying to seduce someone else’s wife by taking her furniture shopping have any problem with adultery? What about a man who bragged about being able to grab women–well, anywhere he pleased?

Why would someone who mocks his political enemies using every electronic medium known to humankind have a problem with someone who does this while appearing on a late-night comedy show? I’ve seen the video of Trump mocking someone with a physical disability!! What gets more vile than that?

Let’s not even get started with the things Trump has said to Howard Stern, while on air. The Billy Bush tapes should not have been some kind of big surprise to anyone.

No, if you support Donald Trump, I think you concede that you do not care what anyone else’s candidate says or does. No matter what it is, there are probably several videotapes or audiotapes of Donald Trump doing something as bad or probably far worse…and not things that John Adams would have let go by without a sharp comment, might I add.

He is the President of the United States. He needs to start acting like it. His supporters need to quit making excuses for his improper attacks and willingness to repeat or make up outright falsehoods. We all realize that Donald Trump has no future planned beyond his presidency, but a few other people in the Republican Party would like to.

Trump’s behavior is undignified and unsuitable for the Office of the Presidency. There is now no bar at all; because of Trump’s actions, anything goes. But just to prove I’m not being hypocritical and am not a so-called Trump hater by being critical of his behavior, I also thought that Bill Clinton’s sordid little affair (with a 22-year-old intern, no less) in the Oval Office was unbecoming of the Office of the Presidency, and that he should have been removed from office for his behavior. I wouldn’t go quite that far with regard to Trump’s tweets; but we have surely deteriorated as a civilized society when a POTUS has to resort to such vulgar, crude personal insults in an attempt to get revenge.
 
This is, as they say, “a bridge too far”. Even if Trump were right on all the issues (and I agree with him on some) it is beyond question now that he is psychologically unfit to be President. His pettiness is over the top. Those of us who are genuinely concerned with life and family issues need to be distancing ourselves from this train wreck. I am worried he is going to bring the pro-life and pro-family causes further down. The longer he is in office, the more damage that gets done.

Probably because you don’t realize that it exposes the hypocrisy of the Trump supporters, who want things they feel are sins outlawed, but don’t care that he acts in ways that are sinful.

Actually no. There is a fundamental distinction here: conservatives want laws that reflect the Natural Law and which protect basic rights that every human being ought to have and enjoy. This is the worldview that undergirds the Constitution, which is the law of the US. This isn’t making things illegal that we feel are sins as you say. This is also why I would have voted for Trump over Hillary because he will nominate justices to the SCOTUS who share this worldview, such as he did with Justice Neil Gorsuch and hopefully the next justice if the rumors about Justice Kennedy retiring are true. If you are unfamiliar with the Natural Law, C.S. Lewis’ short book “The Abolition of Man” is a must-read. If you are unfamiliar with the liberal position, it was summarized by Justice Kennedy when he ludicrously asserted, in Casey v Planned Parenthood, that the right to murder an innocent unborn human being exists in the US constitution:

“At the heart of liberty is the right to define one’s own concept of existence, of meaning, of the universe, and of the mystery of human life.” - Anthony Kennedy

Liberals have absolutely no principles, as this quote demonstrates, and they are perfectly fine with blatant contradictions like I described, at least as far as I can tell. Perhaps you see it differently though.

To sum up the basic left vs right divide as it appears to me: liberals are about feelz, conservatives are about realz.

Be careful now. At CAF Trump is nearly revered as a saint. It doesn’t matter how vile he is, his faithful will praise and laud his every utterance…never fails. He has said far far far worse and they bend over backwards to justify it…
