They’re trying pretty hard to take down conservatives like Cruz and whatever Trump is supposed to be. If their spending bill, lack of spines and policies are any indication, they’ll give it to Jeb or settle with Rubio. They’re only Republicans when election time comes around.
It won’t be Jeb. His polling numbers are non-existent at this point and he’s made a complete *** of himself so far in the election cycle.

I will probably vote for Jeb Bush in the primary. I do not see him as the least bit inappropriate. I do find such language as needs editing rather inappropriate though and unbecoming of Christian charity. I believe in allowing our faith to guide our political perception, not the other way around.
I don’t see a lot of national support for him. But noting that you’re in Texas, do you happen to know how popular he currently is there?
I am skeptical of measures of support until the elections start, so I really do not know. What the media is doing with these debates illustrates just how much control they are attempting to exert over the process. I believe Bush is the candidate most in accord with Catholic teaching, being open to immigration reform and social teaching while opposing abortion. But I know he may not be a viable choice by the time I get any say. I may even opt out of the Republic primary, since we do not get a say early.
Just for the record, Jeb isn’t the most pro-life candidate. He allows for exceptions for rape, incest, and life of the mother.
Pro-life? On abortion, others are more in line with Catholic teaching. On the death penalty, at least he has reservations. Then, as I said, other life issues, like immigration and social justice, he is more Catholic. I am not a one issue voter and I am not sold on the “five non-negotiable” slogan. Mostly, I want someone I trust to do what they believe morally correct and to have a fairly accurate moral compass. Trump and Clinton do not qualify for me.

I agree with both these statements. The reason Trump is catching fire across demographics is he wears patriotism on his sleeves. He’s unabashedly America first in all his policies. By comparison, who and what does Hillary love??? She has no passion for the country and people have no enthusiasm for her whatsoever.
