Donald Trump is not a politician, so he isn’t going to talk or act like one. I think those that voted for him were tired of politicians and everything that entails. The pretty words, while stabbing in the back, the flowery rhetoric while everything stayed the same, the cronyism, going to Washington average but somehow on their income, retiring wealthy.

We’ve had the pretty boys who knew how to talk, hold a fork, beautiful manners, have a voice of silk while telling you everything you’ve ever wanted to hear, the ones who the whole world loved and fawned over. I just don’t care about that . This country is in bad shape, swirling around the toilet bowl ready to go down, and we need a plumber, not someone who is going to stand there talking pretty.

Sure I wish Pres. Trump wasn’t such a bull in a china shop, but he is who he is and I’m not going to get all verklempt about it.

He’s a world leader. He should speak like a leader and not a ruffian. He should be a good example.

If he didn’t want to do that job, he can run casinos and real estate again.

He may have been joking.

If not, then the law needs to be changed, because ever since Franklin Roosevelt presidents have been legally limited to only two terms.

Mr. Trump is in his 70s. He is still vibrant, lucid and very active. If his health holds out, he may continue to be so through his second term. But, it will require reversing the current law for him to go for third.

I don’t think we should take him seriously on that. He likes to bait the press, and he may have been just talking.

He may have been joking.
I’d say he was trolling rather than joking.

It gives him a chance to get media coverage of “Obama spied on me” by attaching it to “so I’ll run a third term”

What makes you think Trump will win a second term? I mean, I’m going to vote for him, but the polls don’t look too promising for us on the right, plus the unrest that the Marxists are causing, and voting by mail. I think you’ll be happy come Nov 4.

I live in the real world. If he loses in November, I’ll believe it when I see it, not a second sooner. Polls don’t matter like it was said earlier. The closet Trumpeters will come out of the wood work like they did in 2016.

Oh very happy, we’ll be dancing on the bodies of the Covid dead. /S

My sarcasm is not really directed at you. But that thought anybody could be happy about this election is so foreign to me right now.

There are two possible emotional outcomes for me. Nay, three.

Relief or bottomless dread. And intense grief either way.

But maybe Mike Pence could run for president, Trump could be his VP, then if Pence passes Trump gets his third term.
Not constitutional. The 12th Amendment says if you are constitutionally unable to be President then you can not be vice president either.

I think everyone feels that way, just for different reasons. People seem Biden as bad as you see Trump. You don’t have a monopoly on those feelings.

Then I am glad to say I never made that claim. To imply I did is uncharitable and also clearly, untrue.

In my opinion, yes, the Democrats have tried to affect a coup, based on falsehoods such as the Russia hoax. Nobody should vote for the Democrats and the immoralities they represent. Trump probably said this tongue in cheek but I see the point.

now that’s funny… see you can tell when someone is joking…
Was it a joke when he sent the police and military forces to clear the streets of peacefully protesting American citizens for his photo op? Was it a tease when he dispatched unmarked police to detain citizens illegally? Was it just a funny he made in the tweet calling for a delayed election? Maybe he was also kidding when he said he was going to decrease Covid testing to “improve” numbers.

Apparently, he doesn’t kid around. By repeatedly throwing it out there, he is seeding the idea in his supporters’ minds, to habituate them to it and make it seem less radical. So what starts out as a “joke” becomes a constant refrain, until it’s not joke anymore, on the 10th, 12th, 100th retelling.

I take such language very seriously, and so should you when any leader so blithely throws around the idea of undermining the entire republic.

This video is from last year. He has made three more calls for a third term in three different states in the last week.
