So what is Mr. Manafort talking about? What part is Donald Trump playing? Has he just been acting a part?
That’s what they are saying. Of course, how will we know who the real Donald Trump is? This whole thing is beyond stupid. Trump has to come across as genuine and saying he’s playing a part is as good as destroying any chance he has of winning.

I would agree with you on that footage. Upon first viewing it, I was disturbed by her laughter. Everybody I know whose seen it found it distasteful. It certainly wasn’t a normal reaction to hearing about a sadistic death, though she did say later on that the grisly details of his death had not emerged yet. Still, he was executed without trial and one should never rejoice in the death of any human being. I wouldn’t wish Khaddafi’s fate on my worst enemy.

That said, I’m not sure if her reaction - disturbing as it does appear on the surface - can be equated with a sociopathic disorder.

I think that’s perhaps taking a step too far, based on little evidence. It may be that she is lacking in certain social graces in public. The laughter looked feigned to me. It was as if she wanted to put on an image and it was most definitely the wrong one. That might be more of a social issue than a lack of empathy, or indeed nerves. Some people laugh at funerals - not because they are sociopaths but just because their emotions are heightened and its how it gets manifested in them. Nerves. Strange for most people but not an indication of callousness.

For instance, there was this rally where she started barking like a dog - talking about some advert in Arkansas. It was pretty weird too watch and extremely awkward. I almost felt sorry for her. It was as if she was trying so hard to appear fun, jokey and likeable. She just couldn’t pull it off. I could see faces in the audience looking bemused. To me, that suggests a social issue of some sort.

Her reaction to the death of Osama Bin Laden in the famous situation room photo looked very feminine to me - as the only woman at the front, she appeared genuinely shocked and horrified by what she was seeing:

She looked very human here, the most human in the photograph. Now, it could have been an allergy to something in the room that made her cover her mouth (as she claimed later on jokingly), but I think she was embarrassed after the photo since she was the only one gasping in shock. She doesn’t ever want to appear “weak”, I can sense that in her. Maybe I’m naive but I feel we may have seen a glimpse of something human and deeply feminine in this photograph, beneath her sometimes steely or awkward facade.

I generally side with Graham Greene when he said that “Human nature is not black and white but black and grey”. Very few people are white or black. Most of us are varying shades of grey. Perhaps we should extend the same presumption to Mrs Clinton as well?

I will admit that despite my derision for his public persona, I do not know Mr Trump personally. He might be decent to his friends and family. I judge his public persona and credentials for the presidency based upon it alone, not his conscience or lack thereof - which I cannot possibly read.
Is this a picture of them watching Ferris Buehlers day off while our Libyan ambassador is begging for help?

Not only did Chris Stevens not beg for help, he actually turned down extra security when it was offered to him. No disrespect to Christ Stevens, but he did turn down the offer of extra security, and it was HIS choice to go to Benghazi. He wasn’t sent there.

I know Hillaryv blames the ambassador but then blaming the victim is standard operating procedure for the Clintons. I was wrong, however, about them watching a movie. When Ambassador Stevens was desperately looking for help the Secretary of State and commander-in-chief went to bed

They should have been impeached!

PLEASE please, get your facts correct.

He requested security through proper channels 100’s of times.
He was required to decline offers of security outside of DOS channels.
The DOS is very political in how they operate.

I expect DOS initiation/approval was required since they had pay the bill. Even when the US Military assigns people, the security is not free, budget must be allocated and cross charges approved.

Well, there were something like 14 Congressional investigations, so you have to think if something were there, the good smart Republican Congressmen would have found it instead of making themselves look foolish.

Given what you say is correct, I have two questions. One is how many of the hundreds of requests got to the desk of SOS Hillary Clinton? The other is did Hillary Clinton initiate any personal contact whatsoever with Stevens during the several months prior to the capture of Benghazi?

Since this is the Trump thread, do you think he will bring up Benghazi if he is the GOP nominee? My guess is yes.

From today’s Guardian:
Hillary Clinton unveiled a major new attempt to use Donald Trump’s words against him at the weekend, as both she and rival Bernie Sanders adjusted course near the end of the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.
A video released by her campaign late Saturday rounded up some of the most controversial things Trump has said in the 10 months he has been running for president, beginning with his characterization of Mexicans as rapists and ending with his boast that he could “stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody” and not lose any votes.
“Donald Trump wants you to forget everything he’s said,” the video warns. “Don’t.”

The Democrats are going to have a lot of good Trump quotes to choose from for their campaign commercials.

I see the actual count was 600 requests. The below story really highlights her leadership skills, how effectively she manages her responsibilities.
More Than 600 Benghazi Security Requests Never Reached Clinton’s Desk, But Reports on Libya from Her ‘Friend’ Did

I don’t think Ambassadors were allowed to contact her directly, everyone worked through her assistants. Even foreign Prime Ministers had to work through the system before there was direct contact.

Yes, I expect Trump will not ignore Benghazi as it pertains to her ability to lead and manage.

I’m not “blaming” anyone. Chris Stevens didn’t feel he needed extra security. Not once, but twice:

mcclatchydc.com/news/nation-world/world/article24749134.html

“In the month before attackers stormed U.S. facilities in Benghazi and killed four Americans, U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens twice turned down offers of security assistance made by the senior U.S. military official in the region in response to concerns that Stevens had raised in a still secret memorandum, two government officials told McClatchy.”

“Why Stevens, who died of smoke inhalation in the first of two attacks that took place late Sept. 11 and early Sept. 12, 2012, would turn down the offers remains unclear. The deteriorating security situation in Benghazi had been the subject of a meeting that embassy officials held Aug. 15, where they concluded they could not defend the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi. The next day, the embassy drafted a cable outlining the dire circumstances and saying it would spell out what it needed in a separate cable.”

Hillary has stated many times she was “up all night” when Benghazi was attacked. She, at least, didn’t go to bed.

Come on, Lily. You know that if you repeat a lie often enough, it’s like telling the truth, right?

Of course, Christians are called to not bear false witness, but we all have our favorite sins, I suppose.

I guess this is one of mine. 😛

I am under no illusion that we have gotten to the bottom of what actually happened prior to the Benghazi incident, during the attack, and afterward. Nor do I imagine we will ever know the whole truth concerning this tragic event in our history. Despite all the investigations, I seriously doubt that Hillary Clinton’s hands are clean.

Rather telling that when I click on your link, a pop-up says, “Join the Movement to Neutralize the Liberal Media.” Biased? Ummm…yeah!
