I’m a Libeterian socialist and a former Catholic. All my Catholic friends are socialists. We are Pro-Life not just anti-abortion which is why we share with our Pope a vision of a better World for ALL God’s children - Black and White, young and old, male and female. The Kingdom of God as Jesus describes in the Gospels and Mary affirms in the Magnificat " fills the hungry with good things and the rich are turned empty away".
That’s wonderful!~ I support charities that support the same such goals and am also pro life which includes what you have noted above.

Blessings,

Mary.

You bring up a good point. We have a personal responsibility to help the poor and needy -a responsibility we cannot fulfill by voting for somebody who promises to do it for us

Both conventions saw bounces for the candidate (why bounces exists I’ll never know), and Trump followed up Hillary’s bad week or two with bad coverage over the Khan comments. It shows you how fickle and unprincipled an electorate is when you can have such large swings in a week or two - some voters literally change their mind in any given week; that’s unprincipled.

I suspect given two volatile candidates, we will see movement in polls all the way until November, given that Trump doesn’t have a filter on what he is saying and often doesn’t read how something will play, and also given Hillary is a scandal magnet. I suspect they trade controversies for the next few months.

It really comes down to how much media attention each gets for their missteps.

Agreed. A huge unknown is what else WilkiLeaks might release, and when. There are some who are saying that there are emails showing that arms were given to ISIS in Syria.

I think the game breaker will be when Hillarys private emails start to be leaked Probably in October

So you think we don’t care about the child after birth? Why would my local right to life group have a mother’s help fund that helps women with rent, groceries, car repairs, etc? Why would the CPCs have free baby supplies?

We don’t abandon the mother who has chosen life.

I find it interesting that nobody ever asks pro abortion organizations what they do for the child after birth It would appear the only “choice” they support is abortion

I don’t know if her personal emails will be released… but what is released from Wikileaks, because Julian Assange said they have information related to her campaign I believe, could contribute to deciding the outcome of the election. If there is something really bad in those emails or whatever else is released in regard to Hillary Clinton, that could devastate her chance to become President.

Clinton said that Mrs.Smith was mistaken in her depiction of the chain of events surrounding the Benghazi affair. Clinton probably knows what happened there better than Mrs. Smith. But she did not make insinuations about Mrs. Smith’s religion.
This is not correct. All four Benghazi families said that Hillary Clinton told them they would lock up and jail the maker of the video (which the Obama admin was trying desperately to blame it on). Clinton has repeatedly said they are mistaken and she never said this. She is calling them liars about an event they were principal parties to.

It’s very telling how many Clinton voters don’t want to address this issue and only attack DT over his comments about the Khan family. Complete double standard and hypocritical.

Anyone who has been around since 2008 doesn’t believe that. They want to lash out at those with a different view of economics than them, and much like calling someone a bigot, it is an easy out even though it has been refuted numerous times.

If often wonder how much of their time, talent, and treasure folks who take shots at the pro-life movement give to unwed mothers, pregnancy centers, abstinence education, and the like, while they rant about how little others do.

There is no point in arguing with people who just want to repeat the same argument ad nauseum. They’re better off ignored.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Even the left-wing Politifiction can’t find a way to cover for Hillary. The best they can do is say it’s unclear and we don’t have enough info, which is a lie. Several family members have all consistently said the same thing over and over again, plus the public statements where the Obama admin was pushing this false narrative as hard as they could to hide their scandal. It’s very easy to figure out who’s telling the truth, and it ain’t Hillary.

It’s also very telling that they selected probably the absolute worst photo of Patricia Smith they could find. Very objective of them. Truly tells you they are honestly looking for the truth.

I take you are a socialist then ? Lots of Catholic socialists here in Europe. They care for the born and unborn with equal fervour.
Socialism has been officially condemned by the Catholic Church.

Long before I returned to the Catholic
Church over two decades ago, I was hearing people say things like “You
conservatives will do everything in your power to stop a woman from having
an abortion, but once she has her baby, you don’t care if she’s homeless,
starving, and freezing to death”. Who makes up this rubbish ? People who are
angry that you won’t vote for liberal Democratic politicians ? Every
pro-life group I’ve encountered, collected baby clothes, baby formula, and
all other necessities for the often very difficult time ahead after the mother decided to keep her baby. And I should also mention that over many years I’ve spoken with more than a few liberals who won’t help the poor and homeless because they believe that’s the government’s job and why we pay taxes.

Not exactly. The specific section in the catechism reads:

The Church has rejected the totalitarian and atheistic ideologies associated in modem times with “communism” or “socialism.” She has likewise refused to accept, in the practice of “capitalism,” individualism and the absolute primacy of the law of the marketplace over human labor. Regulating the economy solely by centralized planning perverts the basis of social bonds; regulating it solely by the law of the marketplace fails social justice, for “there are many human needs which cannot be satisfied by the market.” Reasonable regulation of the marketplace and economic initiatives, in keeping with a just hierarchy of values and a view to the common good, is to be commended.

It is not socialism per se, but the totalitarian and atheistic ideologies associated with socialism in modern times. If someone or something is “socialist”, but without those ideologies, the Church does not condemn. It is interesting to note that the Church also condemns certain ideologies sometimes associated with capitalism, but does not condemn capitalism itself.

Yes. While we are not to put our hope in men, voting for Trump is based on my reasonable hope that Trump might actually follow-through on what he says about this.

Voting for Hillary transgresses my reason and my hope, because I believe she certainly will follow-through with her convictions.

I may be a fool, but I’m not going to vote against a viable hope for the extension of the pro-life fight.
If we could just drop the political trappings of “being a Democrat” or “being a Republican” for a little while please. I think we all know that Washington DC is corrupt to the core regardless of the initial that is in use after the name. The Washington insiders are all in this together and desperately struggle to keep out a washington outsider who just might expose the dark underbelly of corruption on a whole new level. We need to clean house at the highest level, which is where DJ Trump comes in. BOTH sides are doing all they can to attack him any and every which way they can. When Trump says the system is rigged, truer words have never been spoken. If you don’t like the status quo and want to clean up the corruption in washington for real, vote for the only person who is not a politician, who cannot be bought, who loves this country and wants to help the common man who is being swallowed up in the machinery of the government. Is he a perfect man? Absolutely not. But, he holds hope for reigning in the powers that be and returning our nation to a government of, by and for the people. I am tired of watching every politician who goes to Washington turning into a rich man. Public service should not turn into a lifetime jackpot for a person who serves in Congress for 4 years. Lets make the politicians adhere to the same rules and regulations that the rest of us are subjected to. We have the power to make some real changes. lets not blow it, fighting over all the talking points that are served up to us everyday by the media which is in collusion with the govt. as well. Lets take our country back.

That in itself is disgusting on their part.

People who choose to go into politics are generally sacrificing a more lucrative career in business or law. They do it mostly out of a desire to serve the public. People who go into business generally are not sacrificing anything, and are doing what they are doing to enrich themselves. There are exceptions to both of these rules - corrupt politicians and philanthropic businessmen. But on the whole there is far more corruption outside of Washington than inside of it. And Trump is the epitome of corruption.

The idea that Politifact fact-checked the parent of a Benghazi victim shows what a sordid agenda the folks who read them have. I wonder if they’ll spend as much time investigating Khan’s ties to the Clinton Foundation, or his potential ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Probably not; he has more pigment in his skin than Patricia Smith. Can’t have that now.
