Why doesn’t Donald Trump make Trump ties in the US?
On a visit to a tie company in Denver today, Hillary Clinton said Donald Trump doesn’t do enough to ensure products bearing his name are made in the United States.
“I really would like him to explain why he paid Chinese workers to make Trump ties…” said Clinton, holding a red Donald Trump-branded necktie.
She then reached for another tie patterned with her campaign’s logo. “… Instead of deciding to make those ties right here in Colorado with a company like Knotty,” Clinton continued.

He IS literally alienating key leaders in his own party. I feel sorry for him. He doesn’t know how foolish he looks and he can’t stop himself. It is sad. And we want to give him nuclear weapons?
In case you missed it, the general public has been extremely unhappy with the performance of our establishment leaders. Maybe they shouldn’t be fawned over so much.

According to the following, his ties and some other other items are not made in the USA, but a number of his products are.

Excerpt from, "Clinton is wrong, some Trump products ‘Made in America’

“Hillary Clinton’s claim that GOP nominee Donald Trump’s business empire produces nothing in the United States earned her a “false” rating from the fact-checking group PolitiFact.”

The article from politifact says that “many of his products have been made overseas” but acknowledges that “a few things” are made in the US. That’s hardly glowing testimony in Trump’s favor.

Another lie from Hillary. When will she stop? She said she came out of the white house dead broke. She said she came under sniper fire in Bosnia during the ’90s, claiming her group ran “with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base.” A video of her actual arrival proved otherwise. etc…

According to the article in post #1028, part of the making of his hats are done in America, memorabilia, some suits, and wine.

I suspect the argument Trump would make as to why more of his products are not made in the USA, is because he is a businessman and he goes where he can get the best deal and that part of the point of his campaign is trying to create a business environment in the USA where more business can be done in America.

How would he do this? By making the wages of US workers in his factories the same as those in China?

Most businesses that make their products abroad instead of in the US do so because they are getting a better deal by making them abroad. Now if American workers were willing to get paid the same wages as people living in China, I’m sure that these businesses would be more than glad to make their products in America again. Is that the kind of business environment you think Mr. Trump should help create? He could, I suppose, lower the minimum wage. 😉

I don’t know what the wages are for factory workers in China, but presumably they are much lower than in the USA. Trump has voiced support for a $10 minimum wage, but also supports allowing states to decide.

So some states could lower the minimum wage to $5 (from the current minimum of $7.25)?

Is there a clear policy statement here? How does he bring the jobs home?

How bizarre. Fox comes out with the poll showing Clinton with the lead of 10 points against Trump (although I don’t know if Gary Johnson and Jill Stein were included in the poll, because if they were included or excluded that could have a difference), and another poll comes out showing a tie between Clinton and Trump:

"National General Election:

Clinton 44% (Tie)
Trump 44%
Johnson 5%
Stein 4%

@PPDNews Daily Tracking Poll (8/2-8/3)"

How many people involved in politics flip flop? I doubt it would take me a long time to find some information on Hillary Clinton flip flopping on some issue or another…
So how does Trump propose bringing jobs back?

He would have to go much, much lower than $10/hour to compete with Chinese workers.

So what’s his plan for getting US businesses to keep their manufacturing here?

How will that work?

This seems to be contrary to your position that Trump create a business environment where more businesses will stay in the US.

By raising the minimum wage, wouldn’t he be one of those business owners who goes to China to make his products?

I don’t understand what you’re saying here, Abyssinia.

Which liberals are these? Most liberals I know don’t even talk about abortion one way or the other. Judging only by this Forum, I would think the issue of abortion is the be all and end all of conservatives, not liberals.
I have to agree with you on this, Meltzerboy. The only reason I speak about the issue here is because it is an issue talked about so much here.
