Thank God. I don’t think Cruz will get the nomination either.Looks more and more like Trump will not be picked on the first ballot at the Republican convention and might lose the nomination.

Looks like the Never Trump movement is gaining steam. This is his fourth loss in a row, I believe. Montana this weekend should make it five.Cruz has won Wisconsin
I just recently learned that at the Republican convention in 1976 there was no clear cut winner before hand.Trump had a bad week and his Party’s leadership is trying to knock him out, but I wouldn’t count him out just yet!
That said, I am beyond fascinated to see what a brokered convention would look like!
Ann Compton, then a young White House correspondent for ABC News, remembers the '76 convention as “a real battle.”
“The party didn’t know quite what to do with an incumbent president who hadn’t been elected but had been appointed president, and a popular California governor who had tried to run before and was amassing huge numbers of delegates,” she says. “The convention meant the climax to a party that had a kind of split personality.”
Meanwhile, Stephen Hess was editor in chief of Ford’s platform. He recalls the months leading up to the convention.
“If I remember correctly, the president, Gerald Ford, was winning, winning, winning from New Hampshire on, and then suddenly he hit a block in North Carolina and Gov. Reagan started to win, win, win. So suddenly they came into the convention almost tied,” Hess says.
As Ronald Reagan’s '76 campaign manager, John Sears appreciated “the outsiders” label.
"“People talk about how upset people are with Washington, but they were back then too, especially coming on the heels of the Watergate,” Sears says. "There’s a great deal of anti-Washington feeling.
I’m sure that the Clinton campaign doesn’t want Trump to be knocked out too soon. They would probably prefer to run against Trump instead of the possibility of a brokered convention where a completely different candidate than either Trump or Cruz might be picked.Trump had a bad week and his Party’s leadership is trying to knock him out, but I wouldn’t count him out just yet!

And he didn’t just win. He crushed Trump. At this point, Cruz is ahead 52.6% to Trump’s 30.5%.Cruz has won Wisconsin
I don’t think Clinton will get nominated by the end of the month. Super delegates can still switch and Bernie is showing momentum. Having said that, this battle is helping Clinton, especially become moderate (she should be smart and learn from Bill)I’m sure that the Clinton campaign doesn’t want Trump to be knocked out too soon. I agree with your last post, I don’t think either Cruz or trump as of right now will get the nod if it’s a brokered convention. And he didn’t just win. He crushed Trump. At this point, Cruz is ahead 52.6% to Trump’s 30.5%.
So, according to the Church, they aren’t murderers? If you believe women who procure an abortion should be tried as murderers that is your right . Neither the church nor people involved in the pro-life ministry agree with you but you are within your rights to push for such legislation
I’m thinking it’s got to be Trump or Cruz. I can see the Republicans saying no to Trump if he doesn’t get a majority, but how are they going to tell Cruz, thank you for saving us from Trump, but we hate you, so we’re going with someone else. No way. Cruz has assurances that, if he keeps Trump from the nomination, it’s his.I agree with your last post, I don’t think either Cruz or trump as of right now will get the nod if it’s a brokered convention.
There’s already talk of picking Paul Ryan instead of Cruz or Trump.I’m thinking it’s got to be Trump or Cruz. They can talk, but Cruz and Trump combined will have enough loyal delegates to keep anyone else except for each other from the nomination. There’s already talk of picking Paul Ryan instead of Cruz or Trump.
It’s one thing to accept Catholic Church moral teaching. But does the Catholic Church not understand that in the US, it does not make the law and that the US has its own Constitution and lawmaking and interpretation procedures?Your views are contrary to Church teaching.
No, you’re advocating with keeping abortion legal. You are doing the opposite of protecting unborn children. You’re actually encouraging them being killed.
What a sore loser. :tsktsk:“Donald J. Trump withstood the onslaught of the establishment yet again. Lyin’ Ted Cruz had the Governor of Wisconsin, many conservative talk radio show hosts, and the entire party apparatus behind him. Not only was he propelled by the anti-Trump Super PAC’s spending countless millions of dollars on false advertising against Mr. Trump, but he was coordinating `with his own Super PAC’s (which is illegal) who totally control him. Ted Cruz is worse than a puppet— he is a Trojan horse, being used by the party bosses attempting to steal the nomination from Mr. Trump. We have total confidence that Mr. Trump will go on to win in New York, where he holds a substantial lead in all the polls, and beyond. Mr. Trump is the only candidate who can secure the delegates needed to win the Republican nomination and ultimately defeat Hillary Clinton, or whomever is the Democratic nominee, in order to Make America Great Again.”
If abortion is murder, then it was just as inconsistent prior to Roe as it would be if abortion was ever deemed to be murder under the law in the future. We would go back to the way things were prior to roe being imposed-women were nt punished, abortiosits were. Withng two years of Roe being imposed abortions increased from 400,00 a year to over 1.5 million a year. obviously legalization had a huge effect
He just couldn’t have been content with saying “Ted Cruz” but had to get “Lyin’” in there, didn’t he?Well, instead of a traditional concession speech, where you show some class and congratulate your opponent, the Trump campaign issued this statement tonight…
What a sore loser. :tsktsk:
Or simply don’t push for it to be called murder under the law. That way anti-choice people won’t have to try to deal with the inconsistency. If you believe women who procure an abortion should be tried as murderers that is your right . Neither the church nor people involved in the pro-life ministry agree with you but you are within your rights to push for such legislation
Who are the anti-choice people of which you speak?Or simply don’t push for it to be called murder under the law. That way anti-choice people won’t have to try to deal with the inconsistency.
No one knows if it’s murder or not, Sy. No one knows when the potential human being is infused with a soul, and without that, there is no human person. There is only potential.Or simply don’t push for it to be called murder under the law. That way anti-choice people won’t have to try to deal with the inconsistency.
