It’s one thing to accept Catholic Church moral teaching. But does the Catholic Church not understand that in the US, it does not make the law and that the US has its own Constitution and lawmaking and interpretation procedures?
And the Supreme Court interprets the Constitution, not Church documents. I believe it is the Church’s responsibility to educate her own, but in all fairness to her, she can’t do that if people don’t bring their children to Mass, etc.

I think those against abortion sometimes forget that in the US we have separation of church - any church - and state.

Insurmountable DEBT is not only terrible for a country, but debt is a “campaign-killer” too.

This may be part of the reason WHY the RNC (Republican National Committee) does not want Donald Trump to run as the Republican nominee.

Mr. Trump has been reminding everyone frequently about funding his own campaign.

The populace has loved it.

But he has been doing much of this “funding” with self-loans, not “donations”.

This suggests that when Trump DOES begin significant fund raising, he will want to “pay back” these tens of millions of dollars to himself.

This would siphon campaign money that Trump donors paid to the Trump Presidential campaign (right into Trump’s own bank account).

There is nothing wrong with Donald wanting to “replenish” his expenses. And it would not be dishonest to do so either.

But it acts as a “repellent” to the RNC to except him as their candidate.

Why?

Because if Trump were to become the Republican nominee, fundraising would NEED to kick in high gear if Trump were to be competitive.

Trump has a puny ground game and virtually no substantial fund raising apparatus already in place either.

That means Trump will be expecting to be financially helped by the RNC. (By the way, all Presidential campaigns are helped with RNC [or DNC as the case may be] donations, but probably not necessarily in regards to self-debt service.)

But the RNC will be thinking, a** substantial amount of this money the RNC gives to the Trump campaign, will be siphoned directly off into Trump’s bank account **(to pay back Trump’s “self-loans”).

That means the RNC will have to allocate MORE of its monies into Trump’s account to keep Trump’s head above water in a general election.

The “free-media” that Trump has been enjoying will turn into a liability in the general election too as the media will oppose Republicans (they always do).

This will mean even MORE dollars will need to be allocated to Trump’s campaign.

This will financially take AWAY from critical Congressional House and Senate Races too resulting in a domino effect with losses there ALSO if Trump were the Republican nominee.

It would also set an “example” or template for future Presidential races to use RNC debt instead of fund raising (and maybe even Congressional and Senate races too) and have a financial vacuum domino effect.

The other problem with a Trump candidacy in the general is he brings no significant ground game to the table.

This is WHY Trump is losing unbound delegates such as Louisiana and likely elsewhere.

This loss of delegates has resulted in Trump publicly calling Cruz a “cheater”, but it really illustrates the LACK of knowledge and ground game that the Trump campaign has lacked.

There is no “cheating” in wooing unbound delegates—that’s what you are SUPPOSED to do to win.

This has eventually resulted in Trump suggesting his staff is incompetent and causing great turmoil within his own campaign.

From the New York Times we are told Trump went after his own campaign staff suggesting their incompetence for not having an in-depth knowledge of the various state delegate rules (Trump’s staff “had not been doing what they needed to do”).

Trump’s campaign staff will now be on the defensive, escaping getting fired and avoiding upsetting “the boss” instead of being on the offensive and focused on winning elections.

This from the New York Times (link) . . .
Mr. Trump has found himself at a disadvantage in some states, as his aides have allowed rival campaigns to peel some delegates away. Mr. Trump mentioned Louisiana, where he won the primary, but where Senator Ted Cruz is likely to come away with more delegates after exploiting peculiarities in the state’s system, according to those briefed on the meeting.
The situation in Louisiana infuriated Mr. Trump, who threatened this week to sue the Republican National Committee over it.
But when Mr. Priebus explained that each campaign needed to be prepared to fight for delegates at each state’s convention, Mr. Trump turned to his aides and suggested that they had not been doing what they needed to do, the people briefed on the meeting said.
Trump himself has also been lazy in studying issues and weak in being able to articulate these same campaign issues.

One of Trump’s own (informal, not official) supporters, Laura Ingraham has publicly lamented this apparent lack of preparation by Trump several times.

Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh has also suggested Trump needs to school himself on the issues in a better fashion.

Yet Trump seems to have plenty of computer time for his own “Tweets”.

So lack of ground game, lack of finances, and lack of internal schooling on the issues (sometimes embarrassingly poor, which is WHY Trump would not want to debate Cruz one on one) is probably WHY, Trump has taken to laying off some of his own important staff members).

If he wasn’t before, Trump himself is NOW acutely aware of his own financial shortfalls and he does NOT want to be tens of millions of dollars MORE in debt at the end of all of this.

It would cost him lots of money and would look bad to the voters (Hillary: “Trump can’t even keep his campaign afloat! How is he going to handle this country’s finances?”).

So the “self-loans” may dry up soon (but Trump has nothing substantial to replace his own loans).

. . . continued . . .

Continued from last post . . .

My guess is, THIS financial DEBT hole that Trump has gotten himself into, is one of the reasons why Kasich is staying in the race (as Trump weakens, Kasich thinks he will strengthen—especially in the Eastern states like New Jersey and New York where he will appeal to more liberal voting appetites).

This Politico article below (link here) suggests (to me at least), that the Trump campaign is now running out of money.
Trump campaign in disarray
Morale sinks as key battleground state staff laid off, including senior data operative.
By Kenneth P. Vogel, Ben Schreckinger and Eli Stokols 04/05/16 Politico
Donald Trump’s campaign is increasingly falling into disarray as the Manhattan billionaire braces for a loss in Wisconsin that could set him on course for an uncertain convention floor fight for the Republican presidential nomination.

Since March, the campaign has been laying off field staff en masse around the country and has dismantled much of what existed of its organizations in general-election battlegrounds, including Florida and Ohio.

Last month, the campaign laid off the leader of its data team, Matt Braynard, who did not train a successor. . . .

. . . . At the moment, though, Trump’s team appears to be something of a patchwork group without much experience—partly because so many staffers are being fired. . . .
This Trump debt crisis, will also shed light on Trump’s “supporters”. (will they now “support” Trump with needed BIG DOLLAR donations? Or is it all “cheer-leading”?)

Insurmountable DEBT is not only terrible for a country, but it can destroy a campaign too.

Just what I am seeing in this campaign from a Trump/RNC perspective. It may or may not be accurate.

God bless.

No one knows if it’s murder or not, Sy. No one knows when the potential human being is infused with a soul, and without that, there is no human person. There is only potential.
The discussion of ensoulment though isn’t a legal argument. What happens when people do not believe in a soul?

It’s one thing to accept Catholic Church moral teaching. But does the Catholic Church not understand that in the US, it does not make the law and that the US has its own Constitution and lawmaking and interpretation procedures?
Which in no way means that a Catholic should not follow Church teaching when they vote .

Actually we don’t have separation of church and state in the United States. You not will find that anywhere in any of the founding documents . In fact I cannot understand how anyone could read the Declaration of Independence and claim the founder supported separation of church and state . What they did support was not allowing interference of the state in one’s religious views - a right that is becoming more more perilous in this country by the day However even if it was true it would not mean that a Catholic can put their political views ahead of the teachings of the church.

Of course if one does take their children to Mass and tries to impart to them to teachings of the Church and then sets aside the teaching of the Church when they conflict with their political views they will end up with poorly catechized children-just like their parents.

Or simply don’t push for it to be called murder under the law. That way anti-choice people won’t have to try to deal with the inconsistency.
Actually there is no inconsistency- it’s merely another one of those semantics distractions that those who support abortion try to use to rationalize their support of evil .

Pollster Scott Rasmussen said on Fox & Friends that Trump’s chances of becoming the Republican nominee are less than 50%.

Trump and his supporters will follow his advice: never ever ever give up! The media and establishment will not wear us down.

Onward to New York.

However it is becoming increasingly apparent that the voters may wear him down .
That would be ok. That’s called voting and democracy. Even if hillary gets voted in, it’ll be what it’ll be.

Our Lady is in charge of it all. No worries.

She is in charge of the nation’s destiny as far as I’m concerned.

Are you catholic? Of course I believe Mary is mortal but she is in heaven now reigning with Christ as queen of heaven. Her will and the will of God are perfectly aligned. She has no power except through God but she is the Mother of God and as such there is no person more powerful than her in front of God. Some catholics consecrate our lives to God through Mary. Countries can be consecrated to Jesus through Mary as well. It’s a lucky thing if Mary is in charge of someone’s destiny. She will bring them to God safe and sound, unscathed by all danger and evils of the world.

We can all pray to Mary for protection and blessing of our family and our country.

I understand what you’re saying, and of course, it’s true, or at least it’s true to the extent we know how Divine power works. God can’t diminish Himself (utterly give up power in some respect) and still be God. Infinite is infinite. But it might only be the limitation of human minds that causes us to think He cannot in some manner bestow actual control over something to an angel or even to Mary without diminishing Himself. We, of course, have free will and can do things against God’s will. Our autonomy does not diminish God and our evil actions do not come from God.

I’m not saying Mary backs any political candidate. I’m talking about the principle.

I have a hard time putting “Trump” and Virgin" in the same sentence…

This is definitely going to be a hold your nose election

Trump loses bad in Wisconsin. Proceeds to claim that Cruz violated federal election laws by coordinating with PACs, offering no evidence to support his claim.

Trump is a toddler who has run out of juice and needs a nap.
