Let’s go easy on Trump here. He’s only been pro-life for a couple months.

What can you possibly mean the Catholic Church hasn’t thought through this? Perhaps look at Evangelium Vitae the encyclical by St. Pope John Paul?

Your candidate is running as a republican and trying to attract conservatives and among those conservatives prolife conservatives. And he was unprepared.
Where does it say that no woman can be punished by law for having an illegal abortion?

In addition to the women, should whoever provides the funds/support for abortion be punished as well for eg. husband, boyfriend, parents who encourage someone to have an abortion?
And what if a woman goes to a place(even another country) where abortion is legal and has an abortion? In such a case, should she be punished when she returns?

It wouldn’t happen any more than it happens if a person goes to Colorado to smoke weed, then to Nevada to hire a prostitute, then returns to Missouri where both are illegal.

Trump just left what is being described as a “surprise meeting” with the RNC. In other (possibly related?) news, the RNC went live with a new website today called “Convention Facts.” gop.com/convention-facts/

I don’t think it was the RNC - it was with his ‘foreign policy advisors.’

My guess is it just a circle the wagons, regroup kind of thing. Whoa Nellie. Whoa Chris Matthews. Look important.

It’s amazing that you put quotation marks around his “foreign advisors,” which you really mean foreign policy advisors.

Anyway, have a nice day reminding yourself that trump is really done this time, for the thousandth time!

I think that was earlier today. He just left the meeting with Reince Prebus and tweeted that he met with Prebus and G.O.P.

But, yeah, it was probably nothing. Did you know that if you take all the vowels out of Reince Prebus you get RNC PR BS? Most appropriate name ever.
No, you were right - I just didn’t see the news story at first; I just saw the foreign advisor one. (or foreign policy advisors if you prefer).

The timing couldn’t be better. Are they seeking to unify the party? On what planet. And why is this not ‘selling out to the establishment?’

thanks for the laugh!

I, too, saw the video and I don’t know how you can assume that Trump didn’t affirm punishment for women who procure abortions. There wasn’t any spin put on his comment – when asked if he agreed with this, he said yes. Directly. Matthews asked a question and after 5 minutes of deflection, Trump finally answered it.
I predict that there will be many who away that from thinking “Some conservatives want to punish women who have had abortions, and Trump may or may not agree with them.”
