Well, as long as the President isn’t tweeting anything racist, then I guess it isn’t.
And, as long as Washington’s mayor doesn’t paint the name of an organization that is Marxist with racist and violent overtones on a public street , I guess you’re right.

I’ve condemned the tweet. Are you condemning the mayor’s actions?

The lack of Catholic humility and charity in some of these posts is astounding.

Our Lord: Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.

Trump Supporters: Why should our Leader have to apologize for posting a hateful, divisive, racist video that the Church would condemn as mortally sinful?

Try repeating this in the confessional and see if your priest applauds you.

If I misinterpreted your words I apologize. But that’s sure how it comes across.

The Democrats are undoubtedly promoting horrific grave evils, particularly in regards to abortion, but that fact doesn’t give Trump and his supporters a blank check to turn a blind eye - actually not turn a blind eye but defend - Trump’s own evils… the whole “all Trump does is beat his wife, while Biden killed his!” refrain is frightening and disturbing on a Catholic forum.

Good for you condemning the tweet. After listening to you say that there isn’t that much racism, I’m glad you can finally find some.
I’ve never said there is no racism, only that there isn’t a lot of it. I stand by that statement.
Americans are a bit, by and large, a racist people.
I don’t particularly care what the mayor of DC is doing nor whatever you claimed he did that you feel like I should condemn, so I’m not going to bother to spend my time figuring it out.
The Washington mayor allowed the name of the organization, Black Lives Matter to be painted on the street near the White House.
Are you willing to condemn this, as that organization is a Marxist organization with violent snd racist overtones?

BLM is a saying more than an organization. Folks sometimes forget that. Why use code words like ‘marxist’ and ‘violence’? People are protesting police brutality. If you can’t join the protests don’tt ry to sidetrack them with inaccurate allegations.

The unfortunate fact is that “White Supremacy” has become a bogeyman in the liberal mind, and supposedly the US is awash in violent attacks by white nationalists.
The Trump administration has literally enforced white supremacist orders by separating immigrant families. The order was stewarded by Trump appointee Stephen Miller, who literally asked Breitbart to run white nationalist propaganda.

This is not a bogeyman, the American government did real harm to real people for racist reasons, under this administration.

Every time a real elected republican comes out and quotes some racist source, or defends explicit racists like Hitler, or supports racist organizations, I wonder to myself: how did those words find their way into that person’s mouth?

I sincerely doubt it happens because these people are astute students of history, deliberately choosing words they’ve read on their own. Instead, I strongly suspect they are repeating things they have heard from those they surround themselves with.

No, it isn’t. It is an organization, but you point out the deception here. By conflating the saying with the organization, it deflects from what the organization stands for.
Only a small few of Americans deny that the lives of every American black matters and matters as much as any other American.
Why use code words like ‘marxist’ and ‘violence’?
Code words? What kind of nonsense is that?
They say they are Marxist. Their violence is obvious. No codes.
People are protesting police brutality.
As well they should. I am 100% in favor of denouncing the brutality of government agents against Americans. Apparently, big city mayors for whom the police work don’t share that view.
If you can’t join the protests don’tt ry to sidetrack them with inaccurate allegations.
More deception. Protests don’t include violence. If you can’t stand against the violence, please dont sidetrack legitimate protests By conflating the two.

Only a small few of Americans deny that the lives of every American black matters and matters as much as any other American.
Only a small few would publicly deny this. Far more behave in a way that produces the end result.
Code words? What kind of nonsense is that?
The strategy of linking black protestors to radicalism is literally 100 years old. People were doing it back in the Red Summer of 1919. Nina Simone literally sang about it 60 years ago:
Picket lines, school boycotts
They try to say it’s a communist plot
All I want is equality
For my sister, my brother, my people, and me
…I don’t trust you any more
You keep on saying “Go slow!”
You’re too d*** lazy
“Go slow!”
The thinking’s crazy!

Wrong, wrong wrong. “Stand your ground” means a person does not have to retreat if in his or her own home (there is a tenet in self-defense law about the ability to flee) or when a person is confronted with an imminent danger of serious bodily harm. Then a person can use means of serious harm to effect self-defense.
Yeah, I’m in a stand-your-ground state. Here is what the law says on it.
  • You can use force when you reasonably believe that the force is necessary in order to protect yourself or a third party against another person’s imminent use of unlawful force.
  • The scope of the force that you can use depends on whether you reasonably believe that the type of force is necessary to defend yourself or a third party.
  • You may use deadly force only if you reasonably believe that such force is necessary to prevent death or great bodily harm to you, or to another, or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony.

It’s a shame that Trump has to retweet a racist post given how rare you seem to think it is.
I haven’t heard if you have condemned Biden’s racist comments. Let me know when you do.
Why should I condemn it exactly? I don’t really have a problem with BLM - don’t 100% agree but I don’t 100% agree with anything.
So their violence and racism is okay with you.
Maybe this is why some who support Trump
Are reluctant to condemn a tweet that has the word “white power“.
In 1968, the term “black power “ was prevalent. Was that racist? No? Then why is “white Power”? I think both comments are at best, stupid. No one gains power from melanin in their skin.

From the Black Lives Matter website:
We are unapologetically Black in our positioning. In affirming that Black Lives Matter, we need not qualify our position. To love and desire freedom and justice for ourselves is a prerequisite for wanting the same for others.
Regardless of what follows , would it be okay for a group of whites to say, “ We are unapologetically white in our positioning.”

If it is racist for one group, it is racist for another.
And the fact that you want me to kind of tells me I shouldn’t, because you don’t think there is much racism in America.
And that’s why VP Pence wouldn’t say the name of the organization. Good for him.
And you’re right, I do not think there is a lot of racism in America. I don’t think BLM represents American blacks anymore than the KKK represents Americans whites.

Only a small few would publicly deny this. Far more behave in a way that produces the end result.
Who, specifically.
The strategy of linking black protestors to radicalism is literally 100 years old.
And of course, I didn’t do that I’ve been very clear to not link protesters to violent rioters. I was also specific about a particular group, instead of a vague “far more behave in a way…”
Go read their manifesto. Unlike those making up accusations against Americans without specificity, I’ve looked at specific documents.
So false accusations on top of false accusations doesn’t prove your point.

No, it isn’t. It is an organization
Who are you to say that? Is the mayor of Washington, DC a member? Your statement is highly inaccurate and paternalistic.

This is such a tired technique.
Oh, the idea of holding progressives to the same standard as conservatives is a tired technique? That’s funny as it is only recently being employed.
Kind of explained this already, but obviously you didn’t read what I wrote and comment against that, but just try to score points instead of having a convesation.
Won’t even answer the questions.
Pence wouldn’t say the words because it would be some sort of betrayal to his white nationalist followers.
This is such a tired technique. It is entirely false and despicable.
But I get it. It’s all the progressives have.
Dog whistle. Oh, but there isn’t that much racism in the US, I forgot.
Progressives are the experts at using dog whistles, but I think you may be right about institutional racism in America. Who runs virtually all of the institutions? Higher education? Major cities and their police forces? State and federal bureaucracies? K-12 departments of education? The main stream media? Yep. Progressives.
I stand corrected. There is institutional racism and we know who is in charge of it.

And would you like to explain this by giving an example.
You already did. I responded.
Nah, the Republicans need the white nationalist vote to win and that’s why they won’t cross them. It’s sad but true.
All 14 of them.
Oh, finally you admit it exists. I’m glad.
And it exists where it always has, from slavery to Jim Crow to intersectionality to identity politics. Progressives and Democrats. Not all, to be sure, but definitely the leadership.
Vice President Pence, on the other hand, is nothing of the sort.

Since that is a completely subjective belief that has no bearings on the case, the protesters still acted illegally.

Not from the POV of socialists, be they communists or fascists. The history of both is that violence is an acceptable solution to the perceived problem.
