How much money did he inherit compared to what he is now worth. There was a news report that his father had left 4 children with $20 million to divide among themselves.

Those are strong words, please show me where the other candidates have derided the other non-abortion service that PP also happens to deliver. You should be able to readily find it, if your projection is accurate.

If you can’t show they don’t support these services then we must assume they are at least lukewarm to their funding.​

 
Conservatives should find this all rather heartening. Donald Trump can be stopped. But the risk of cockiness among anti-Trump GOP voters has led to some erroneous presumptions; foremost among them being that Ted Cruz or any other anti-Trump candidate can win the delegates necessary to secure the nomination outright. That, for the most part, is still a fantasy.

For supporters of Ted Cruz, the worst thing that could happen would be for Marco Rubio’s support in Florida to collapse. Rubio’s performance on Saturday night was below par, leading some to wonder if voters who opposed Trump had determined in the last moments to strategically unite behind the candidate with the best shot to defeat the real estate heir. But Cruz backers who contend that Rubio is now an obstacle on their man’s path to the nomination don’t have the math with them.

I don’t know why we’re speaking of “hundreds of thousands” when legally, the US is able to admit approximately 10,000 this year.

But essentially, what I want are candidates with measured policies that balance infrastructure concerns with humanitarianism (not one who, for example, seeks to legalize discrimination with legislation that would admit refugees of one faith while denying those of another).

Where did you hear that figure?

Each year the US admits >30m foreigners on temp visas and ~1million foreigners on permanent visas.

But no one was discussing that glad you bought it up through, now you would like discuss ALL the Rep candidates and their take on contraceptives? Thats OK we can do that no one is looking to ban them completely that I know of.

I did with Trump and abortion specifically as you know, and now your gonna provide ALL the Reps and all their stances on contraceptives which indeed I read. So be my guest since only you entered this into the conversation. I was talking abortion which as I said I really don’t appreciate the game playing and attempting to put words in peoples mouth or you can move on. 🤷 You don’t have a point you have games.

That’s prooftexting, and that amount does nothing to solve the underlying problems.

Our treaty obligation for refugees is to provide protection, aid and support near the region of conflict. Thus once stability is restored, they can return to their homes. The UN treaty is the right strategy, as we are seeing people in the EU realize. I fully support the US aiding the refugees and bringing the conflict to a quick end.

Agreed. Actually, one of my pet peeves is people saying ‘We need a constitutional amendment to overturn Roe v Wade’.

(I’ll stop there because I don’t wish to push this thread off-topic – particularly given the amount of frustration I’ve been feeling recently because of posters who come into other threads and try to make them all about Mr. T***p.)

It’s actually not prooftexting, since the information located was all that was needed to question the hundreds of thousands referenced previously. If we want to question the number that the US is willing to accept and suggest it should be higher, I’m all for it! And to the larger point, I am in full agreement. As I said earlier, I have no argument against an approach that seeks to balance concerns about infrastructure with humanitarianism. Yet overall, I see US aid as a responsibility born of both international agreements and basic morality.

This morning I decided that all day I wouldn’t even say the T-word. Day’s not quite over yet, but already I’m feeling a lot happier. 🙂

But that aside, don’t worry I’ll be giving Ted Cruz my vote. 👍 (My primary isn’t until next month.)

It’s not just the money, his father was well connected politically and I assume it was from him that Donald learned to play the game of donating to both parties, getting around zoning regs, &c. These are intangibles he inherited not available to someone else who came into $5 million.
 
There’s NeverTrump.com gathering petitions from people who pledge never to vote for Trump. I’m not an American citizen, so it would be futile for me to sign…
 
Look, I really think we need to stay with Trump and hopefully stay away from everyone. He is increasingly seen as racist by a lot of people.

And yes it’s fair. It doesn’t matter that he denounced the Klu Klux Klan. In front of his biggest audience he refused to do so.

He also said the judge at Trump University was biased because he was Hispanic.

He’s leading to some bad feelings. My friend shared a post with one of her friends. Apparently her 3rd grade son. Got pointed out by other third graders, as a child who was going to deported because he was a person of color. When President Trump becomes President.

This is the Trump effect and it’s not good. He’s stearing up anger and resentment. If we vote for Trump we will be seen by the world as cooperating with evil.
