That’s part of Trump’s personality, full of braggadocio and hubris. And he thrives on controversy and conflict, always needing another mountain to climb. I wonder what he will do after the presidency, which I hear he wishes to extend. In a way, he is the typical Manhattanite real estate mogul, with a biting sense of humor to boot.
You insult NY (I :heartbeat:NY) I don’t believe most real estate moguls stiff their sub-contractors and construction workers with piled high liens and lawsuits behind their name to prove it.

I hear after his presidency he plans on teaching ethics, finance, and theology at Liberty University. (inserted hubris there)

The tax code is interesting but the question was why lie about your revenue and your worth?

I lost money when my home went underwater back when the real estate bubble burst, so what I initially could claim as asset became liability.

So why lie about it?
I have no idea what you are referring to

Braggadocio and hubris and a dash of controversy. In Trumps case, he lied about his assets, his net worth, and his art of the deal is actually the con of the deal. Too big to fail so to speak, the banks didn’t want him to fail, he owed too much…here comes the personal bankruptcy.

So. Tell me again what a wonderful business man he is, because somewhere along the line I feel as if I’ve lost the narrative.

apparently he was not hiding a thing. he spoke of it himself on the very first episode of his TV show.

I must’ve missed the joke. What was it? I have Only lived through a few president so far, but I have a hard time thinking anyone will beat him.

he never did that.

Some of his businesses filed Chapter 11. That’s very different. I think people who don’t understand Ch. 11 would do well to read up on it.

There is absolutely no talk about how he inflated his assets to the banks and insurance companies to obtain loans, 😆…Fake news!~

The extraordinary piece put out yesterday lists some the details of his lies. When you can add 10 stories to Trump Tower (he claimed in one of his exaggerations Trump tower had 68 stories when there is actually 58)…he’s got a bigger problem than we were aware of.

HIs accountant literally put a disclaimer on his paper work.

When you actually get into the details and READ some of his ‘stories’…haha, it’s crazier than anyone initially thought.

Far be it from me to insult NY. I too love NY and am a New Yorker, born and bred. But real estate moguls, landlords, and the like? As a group, I’m not too fond of them, with exceptions.

Trump teaching ethics, finance, and theology at Liberty University? LOL You too have a good sense of humor. But I wouldn’t put it past him, and I believe the administrators at Liberty do like him, so let’s not be surprised if it happens.

Is that anything like the 57 states? Or is it more like “…if you like your doctor…”

He couldn’t keep up with his debts. Bad moves including in the stock market.

This is amazing. What a farce!~

Contraception causes increases in abortion.
This is an interesting proposition, but I think the causal relationship is off. Contraception is more likely a proxy for a mindset adapted to recreational sex with no intention of childbearing. I do think that ready access to contraception supports that mindset.

I think that’s move number 1…Revert the conversation to Obama. At least he didn’t have the scandals Trumps had except for the one Trump started…birther.

Hillary Clinton started the “birther” thing. I think in the next few months we’re going to see Obama scandals beyond what anybody ever imagined. But if you have evidence of Trump using the FBI to spy on political opponents, feel free to post it here.

As I have mentioned before, I have it on first-hand (or second-hand) evidence from my friend, a law librarian, that Trump would often show up at the library with his staff to work on his bankruptcies and so on. He himself was a master kibitzer, while his staff did most of the work. Trump hardly took any of it seriously according to my friend, but he did have a wry sense of humor and was very personable. So I agree with you that he was not the businessman par excellence that he claims to be; but, at the same time, his arrogance and self-confidence were able to project him in the public eye as a unique entrepreneur, and, as is often stated, perception becomes reality.

Well, you might be right, but I doubt any of us could survive in the New York City real estate market on any kind of scale. Trump has. He might be smarter than you think.

I was not aware that Hillary Clinton started the birther myth, but I take your word for it. However, I think you must admit that Trump fueled it and kept it alive for an extended period of time.

Oh, he’s smart; I don’t doubt that. Despite his bankruptcies, he has managed to keep himself in the public eye for decades. He is perhaps best described as a wheeler-dealer with a magnetic personality. After all, he did succeed in becoming POTUS, picking just the right time and tapping into the psyche of the American public. Who would have thunk it?

That they voted for him only because the alternative was worse.
The problem with voting for the lesser of two evils is that you’re now stuck with defending the only evil on hand. I didn’t vote for that reason.

I don’t believe Trump is Evil. I didn’t call Hillary evil either. I said the alternative. Trump has done a lot of good for our country. And IMHO, much more than Hillary would have done at this stage. Not voting could have given her a bigger chance at winning.
