Hello again - I have some good news! Whatever you’re doing - please keep doing it!👍

Here’s what I emailed to my coworkers yesterday:

Just a quick update to let you know that I just got some positive news. At today’s follow-up with the Radiological Oncologist, he told me that the tumor in the lower area was “significantly shrunken by the treatment.” After the treatment, it’s usually likely to just be a mass of 100% dead cancer cells, but that can’t be proven without a biopsy by a surgeon - soon to be scheduled. (But according to one doc, in the 30 anal tumors treated by him, all 30 came back as 100% dead cancer cells after the 6-week treatment!)

After that visit, I had a CT scan which was processed amazingly fast and I got a call at home from my Chemo oncologist: The metastasized tumors covering my liver have shrunken by at least 50%!

All of this is good news. I’m not Cancer free, but I’m moving in the right direction.

I also should have mentioned that the report of the cat scan also said - “there is no activity in the anal/rectal area” which I am guessing means not only no new cancer, but no living cancer at all! (again the only proof for that is to go in and take pieces out and biopsy them)

When my Chemo Doc clears me as strong enough, I will begin another round of chemo - end of May or early June. From there I will continue with Chemo every 5 weeks until it stops working.

They told me in the beginning that this type of cancer on the liver, cannot be killed, but they can keep trying to knock it down. I believe there are some new things out there, and there is the power of prayer to help me.

The one Doc early on told me, “you’ll keep trying different chemos until one day you’ll just stop treatment.” (more or less saying I’ll live a year or two in this battle and then let go and lose the battle. Please pray there are alternatives. I believe I told you of one survivor whose case is exactly like mine, whose unusual mix of chemos from a study, totally cleared her liver. I BELIEVE there is more to my life now than struggling a year or two and then dying.

God’s will not mine be done - but darn it! I think I need to be here for a couple more decades!
 
I am very happy to hear such wonderful news. I will keep praying for your full recovery and will add prayer of thanksgiving on top of it.

I am not giving medical advice but I have read carrot juice can do wonders for patients battling cancer. Not to mention it is easy to digest on a sensitive stomach. I read about it in several juicing books (my favorite is called Total Juicing). I have been making fresh juice every day now for several years. It is fun, and is an easy way to get enough fruits and veggies when added to healthy eating habits in general. After having surgery I found it was easier to drink juice than to eat regular food in the beginning. If you are interesting in hearing more about it, just send me a PM.

I will keep praying for you. I don`t post as often as I like but please know you are in my prayers.
