Wow…why do you hate friends the show so much? I always thought it was funny. Don’t worry, I won’t take it personally. :wink:Why didn’t you like it?
Because they show eight hours of it a day, every day. And it’s too sexually promiscuous, but nothing approaching “Will and Grace” that I refuse to watch at all. Strangely, though, the station is back to its regular schedule today. Maybe it ran out of “Friends” episodes.

I also want to recommend an old show that you may be able to find some where. Becker staring the great Ted Danson. It’s very funny and along the same style of humor as Frasier and Cheers if you liked those shows. I always felt Becker was one of the most underrated shows out there.

Her sex scene wasn’t explicit out of respect for the royal family but I certainly did not expect a looong scene of her fiancee and that Asian dancer? 😂 was so disappointed in it. The rest of the show was good though

I remember “Becker!” It was good! Thanks for the reminder! I loved “Frasier,” too!

3 episodes - 1 hour each - I can’t tell if you can watch them from this link or not (I mean available in their entirety, free) but I just finished watching these on TV - fantastic. I am not sure I agree with the history storyline as presented - I think they get some of Elizabeth wrong in terms of analysis but these shows are well made, absolutely fascinating. Recommend. Look for reruns on PBS and tape them.

Friends really hasn’t aged well.

Although rather than writing a nasty letter to TBS, maybe just change the channel…😉

That does seem the best option, doesn’t it? 😄 I would, I do, but I can’t find anything nearly as good as TBS’ daytime lineup used to be. I don’t object to an hour or two of “Friends” a day. Some people like it. What I can’t fathom is why they show sixteen episodes in succession every single day. Even if one likes it, it seems “too much of a good thing.”

I will keep trying to find another “channel of distraction,” though. I really only want it to keep me from feeling so isolated all day since I work at home much of the time and not in an office (wish I did).

“The Americans”

This series is currently being broadcast. Five seasons.

The 10-episode sixth and final season is scheduled to premiere on March 28, 2018

That’s what DVDs and DVR are for. You can do your own programming.

I’ve been meaning to get a DVR, but I never seem to get to the store. I’m always working or traveling, etc. I’ll just have to make time! 😃

Great show, but I’m sure lots of people would scold you given the nudity.

zero interest … story only
I’m not saying you watch it for the nudity. I’m saying some posters here would say that because there are sexual scenes/nudity, you shouldn’t watch the show.

I’m not saying that. I personally think the Americans is great.

There was an episode of “The Americans” in which a Russian hit man shot two unreliable agents in their heads.

Espionage is kind of boring … paranoid people looking over their shoulders all the time, so they need to try to spice it up somehow.

One last plug for Star Trek: DS9 and I’ll stop. 🙂 Tonight the Heroes & Icons network airs “Treachery, Faith, and the Great River”, which features several of the religions of the series. Anyone who has seen MASH will notice a lot of Sparky in Nog.

Meanwhile, anyone remember Joan of Arcadia? It wasn’t perfect (kids smarter than the adults, for example), and the poor Father would get ambushed with the Question Lady. But it got mostly good reviews. Pity it only lasted two seasons.

9-1-1

Kind of “adult” … but the most recent show demonstrated … showed a segment … in which one of the main characters planned to rescue 148 people and then commit suicide … and then he went and gave blood … and discovered that he had a very rare anti-body that saves thousands of lives. The guy spends a LOT of time in Confession in church.

The weird thing is I remember the actual 9-1-1 calls that triggered the television program.
