I am not a psychologist nor a psychiatrist. I do not proffer psychological assistance.
Thanks your posts reflect this - you have nothing to offer.
Now if a mental health person chooses to operate from that paradigm, God bless them.
Seems like there are no respected heath professionals that choose to operate from the paradigm as you interpret it.
If a mental health person chooses to offer physical or psychic assistance at mutilating the person’s body or their soul, then God help them.
FYI, most transgendered people do not go through with GRS.
Here are a few more things to consider.
Most trans people do not want to be trans.
Most fight it till they can bear it no more.
It is very very painful to go down the party of transition. It is typically a last resort decision some choose to commit suicide instead.
This is not a condition where status quo over extended periods of time is practical.
Many would gladly resort to an alternative remedy if there was one - there is none.

If I have nothing to offer, then you have no reason to post to me, now do you?

But you keep posting to me, so, therefore, your actions disagree with your words.

I sympathize with people who have gender identity disorder (whether you believe that or not). I would not want to be burdened with the cross they must bear.

However, the trend being imposed upon society to impose this cross upon people who may not have it, to include children, is abhorrent, hateful, and satanic.

I find it truly curious how this has become such a critical situation in the past 20 years. Mind you, I’m not surprised…but I do find it curious.
Because it’s only been recently that treatments have been developed? The birth control pill didn’t even exist until the 50s and 60s, and wasn’t “perfected” (if one can use that word…) until the 80s or 90s. Proper hormone supplements for any condition that required them took longer to figure out dosages, etc.

Anyways, the Church allows surgery in some cases, so I’d imagine hormone therapy would be allowable too. And the Church hasn’t spoken yet about the legitimacy of the condition, though you are barred from the Sacraments of Vocation if you undergo the surgery, and your Baptismal certificate cannot be changed (but can be notated).

I was referring to a remedy to alleviate the dysphoria, I apologize if I was not clear.

It would be nice to see some empathy and compassion reflected in your posts.

Not sure where this is coming from, I hope you are not implying that trans folk are trying to influence kids into being trans! Nothing could be further from the truth. This is such an unbearable burden, why would a trans person want to see kids suffer?

Actually, if you see me posting to somebody who is ***struggling ***with any sexual dysfunction, particularly if they state they are trying to live in accord with the teachings of the Church, you will find that I am most empathetic.

When you find me being critical is when somebody attempts to assert that a sexual dysfunction is normal. When you find me being harsh and unbending is if that occurs within the Church (the reason being that it appears that the Church fully endorses chemical and surgical mutilation)

Having said that, I’ll keep your statement in mind and include the appropriate caveats.

I am not saying that trans folk are trying to influence kids into being trans.

I am saying that many in the psychological community (with the full backing in the media) is attempting to diagnose any and all confusion or experimentation of children as they try to figure themselves out as having some sort of sexual dysfunction (be it gender identity disorder, homosexuality, or something else). I have seen this personally and know others who have personally seen this as well…

I would think that the primary effect would be to help “transition” the person and then, as a result of “transitioning”, the person would be less depressed.
The hormones themselves seem to improve mood substantially, it’s as the brain was configured for the wrong ratio of hormones and HRT sets the hormones correct for the mind.

I am a Catholic. I go with the Magisterium of the Church. And if anybody offers something, particularly in a Catholic Church, that goes against that Magisterium, then there are grave, grave problems that result. Invariably.

The speech I pointed you to in #12, above, did answer your question. But it seems, based upon your response here, as if you are not willing to hear the answer.

God created us as man and woman. We do not have the option to change that. If we usurp that authority from God, it destroys us as human beings. And it will destroy society in the long run. Now if a mental health person chooses to operate from that paradigm, God bless them. If a mental health person chooses to offer physical or psychic assistance at mutilating the person’s body or their soul, then God help them.
Pope Benedict’s speech seem to be more targeted toward nonbinary genders which are definitely opposed to Catholicism.

No one is trying to pass off transgender as normal.

I’ve never known anyone who has been counseled like that by a psychologist.

Please let us know if you have an alternative practical and proven remedy that can alleviate the torment that those afflicted by this condition go through?.
I first would like to know that the words “proof” and “proven” are thrown around without any consideration to their meaning. Has this surgery resulted in some people saying that it has helped? Sure, but the same thing can be said of placebos. When a problem is mental, convincing a person a solution will work is most of the battle.

As an alternative, how about treating the depression? There are many courses of treatment that have worked. In other areas, when a person suffers from both depression and a mental skewing of reality, we do not try to change the world to fit a set of delusions, we treat the depression.
