This is a favorite idea I military dictatorships and authoritarian states.
The winner takes hold,
The opponent is investigated and found guilty of something requiring death .
The looser of the election is executed.
Really works great when you think about it for the authoritarian.
 
Ohh yeah all the way up to and including Obama,his involement t in Russia,Ukraine and in working no to undermine Trump before and since his election.Just be patient it’s all coming 👍

There are conspiracies all around. The problem is that so many are involved that collusion among them keeps the real truth from coming out.

You know, like the theory that the Trump team colluded with the Russians based upon no evidence but on a ridiculous dossier cobbled together to cover up the actual collusion to keep Trump out of office.

Sound like some are very amenable to conspiracy theorizing and won’t let go.

Still believe in Trump-Russia collusion do we? Haven’t realized it was all wishful thinking – which is why it morphed into wishful impeachment for Ukraine collusion?

Graham said, “It’s impossible to bring this case forward in my view fairly without us knowing who the whistleblower is and having a chance to cross-examine them about any advice they may have, if they don’t call the whistleblower in the House, this thing is dead on arrival on the Senate.” . . .

. . . No American can be accused of a crime based on an anonymous allegation. The whistleblower is foundational to what they are doing to the House and the fact that they don’t want to call him tells you everything that you need to know how about valid the effort is to impeachment the president.” . . .

. . . I’m confident you are going to find out it’s somebody from the deep state. You are going to find out they had interactions with the Schiff, and this thing’s going to stink to high Heaven. Nov. 10 (UPI) — House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff described a request by the Republicans for public testimony this week by the whistle-blower who sparked an impeachment inquiry of President Donald Trump as “redundant and unnecessary.”​

On Saturday, House intelligence committee ranking member Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., sent a list of witnesses they would like to interview to Schiff, including Hunter Biden, the son of former vice President Joe Biden. The letter was five pages.

Schiff, a Democrat from California, responded to the letter later Saturday with his own two-page letter. . . . .

. . . In September, Schiff said the whistle-blower would appear before Congress “very soon,” but later has said the testimony is unnecessary.

In the phone call Trump pressed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to conduct an investigation of the Bidens. Without confirmation, Joe Biden pressured former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to fire a top prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, who was investigating Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings, where Hunter served on the board, bringing in a reported $50,000 per month. . . .

The GOP’s witness list also named another former Burisma board member, Devon Archer; former Democratic National Committee staffer Alexandra Chalupa; Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale; former National Security Council official Tim Morrison; former contractor for Fusion GPS Nellie Ohr; former U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker; and the individuals from which the whistle-blower obtained information about the phone call.

On Saturday, Trump suggested other names should be added to the list for the inquiry, which he continues to call a “witch hunt.” He said Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., Schiff and Joe Biden should be called to testify.

I don’t recall the idea with Clinton and Nixon. With WBush, it was understandable in the short run because the 2000 election came down to 500+ votes in a nation with hundreds of millions.
Birther is the only thing close. But that was Trump and others delegitimizing the first black president. I doubt I they cared about birthplace. It was a way to create political backing.

When they impeach him, this will be the proof. You can vote that it I impeachable or not. 51% of America says it is. Clinton’s highest approval day of his 8 years was the day he was impeached. In the mid to high 60s if I recall. Trump won’t be close.
The VP becomes President. It does not really overturn. This president is taking the position he is 100% immune from accountability for any crime. If a president intends to consider that an opportunity, impeachment I the nation’s only defense.
You say his accusers are lying, but I see only testimony under oath, transcripts, admissions and action. I don’t see anything but a naked allegation of lie. I see him stonewalling as well. It seems clear, there is no lie that anyone can actually identify. That is why they are defending on procedure. Talking about the facts, even in defense, will incriminate him

There are no good facts to continue harping on Trump Russian collusion. You use the Mueller Report, but if it was factually conclusive Schiff and the Dems could impeach on that regardless of what Barr thinks.

It is factually conclusive on collusion. It also made a conclusion that the evidence of conspiracy did not rise to the level required for prosecution. It remains to be seen what the House does the evidence gathered by Mueller.
 
No it isn’t. And it’s currently being investigated for abuse of power in how it was started.

You can cherry pick opinion sources and conjure together scenarios to make it so all you want. Whatever helps you feel better about where it is actually heading. 👍
