Why would they want to present a balanced approach to killing babies?
That statement, in multiple ways, already goes a long way in substantiating my claim. Abortions make up from 3 to 12% of Planned Parenthood’s total services. To people who only hear one side of the story, they likely believe much differently. The portrayal of the agency is very exaggerated in almost every way in the movie. That sort of blatant disregard of basic facts will do nothing to move anyone from the other side.
Whatever percentage abortions make up of their services, politically and legally they’re at the forefront of the abortion issue given how frequently they’re involved in court cases about the subject.

A bit ironic considering Margaret Sanger herself was quite anti-abortion.

I would not take Planned Parenthood’s low figures that abortion only makes up
3% - 12% of Planned Parenthood services.

Nope, just noting that you are using all of Planned Parenthood’s talking points to call this movie biased. If you want PP’s explanation, there is no shortage of resources for you to view in this country. This isn’t a movie primarily about PP. It’s about one woman’s discovery of what abortion really is and why she left the industry. It doesn’t need to caveat with “but PP says…” in every scene. If PP wants to make a movie called “Planned: A woman celebrates her 4 abortions and how great being single and childless is”, they are free to do so. Your fixation on PP talking points misses the point completely.

Yeah, I suppose all of the reviews on rotten tomatoes are wrong and biased also, since they disagree with your view?

Is looks like there are more reviews for it than against it.

As someone who is pro-life, I think that the movie did a great disservice to the cause.

The mediocre production value can be forgiven, but the film ends up solidifying the image of pro-life advocates as dishonest and conniving conspiracy theorists driven more by hatred than by love. It would be fine if it were a good rallying cry to the pro-life movement, but I fear that it is going to make many sincere pro-lifers ask whether the movement as portrayed in this film is something they want to be part of. I think by creating such division within the movement itself it will ultimately weaken the movement overall, and further marginalize its supporters as strident kooks, an image I have ardently fought to correct. Now it seems as if all of my hard work has been undone.

Sorry, but I am deeply troubled by the effect the film it will have on the pro-life movement. It had all the subtlety of a Chick track and all the intellectual honesty of a Trump rally. Very off-putting.

As for it expanding the reach of the movement, forget about it. The few pro-choicers who do go to see it will walk out within the first few minutes confirmed in their beliefs. If anything, they will be convinced that pro-lifers are even kookier than they though.

Sorry, but that’s my honest opinion.

Offering abortion as a service to make money, even just one abortion, is bad and unacceptable. Full stop. There is no hate intended in my comment, just want to state the truth.

What are you basing your opinion on?
Can you clarify why you believe the
points you made?

No, that is not what I mean. Your argument is vague and not specific. Especially your second sentence.

Especially your second sentence.
Are you disputing that the image of the pro-life movement is generally unfavorable in the eyes of the general public? Or that we are viewed as a bunch of fanatics?

Sorry, but that is indeed the image that a large part of the public at large has of us. And being tied, at least in their minds, has severely damaged our credibility. Whenever I discuss abortion with anyone outside the movement, I have to spend a lot of time divorcing my arguments from fanaticism and political partisanship, or else I wouldn’t even be able to make any argument at all.

Regardless of the truth of our cause, there is no point in denying that, public relations wise, our movement has been an abysmal failure, which greatly limits our ability of making any lasting progress in swinging public opinion over to our side.

This film, as I said, makes matters worse.

What part of the movie did you disagree with? Or have you seen it? @Jbrady

Yes, I’d dispute quite easily when some recent polls show the majority of Americans are pro-life, your description marginalizes pro-lifers and is condescending.

“I myself am pro-life but the movement etc. etc.”, this is not convincing.

One can attack the sources I post here. So be it, no one is stopping one from finding their own sources and I don’t trust the secular press that much either.

Majority of Americans pro-life, Gallup says

http://www.bpnews.net/30499

Polls are coming out all the time, showing the American public is pro-life, they want at least, some restrictions on abortion, hence, I’d totally dismiss the negative descriptions you post.

Majority Of Americans Pro-Life As Pro-Choice Lowest in Recent History

The Emerging Pro-Life Majority

Yet another poll shows majority of Americans pro-life

http://cc.org/blog/yet_another_poll_shows_majority_americans_prolife

So, I believe your assertions should be totally dismissed when poll after poll is showing the majority of Americans are pro-life to speak condescendingly of the movement.

Has a person even seen the movie “Unplanned” they are calling bad for the pro-lifers?

So, someone’s story of working for Planned Parenthood and seeing it as wrong and writing a book and then, a movie is made on it, is bad for the pro-life movement?

Wow, just wow! I really have to wonder where people are coming from.

If they haven’t seen the movie, I see no reason to continue this conversation.

Even though I have seen the film, I do agree with you that there is no reason to continue this conversation, based on your choice of news sources.

God bless!

So, you can’t debunk the points made or even say what you don’t like about the movie specifically? But you claim to have seen the movie? But you can’t tell us about a specific part of the movie you say hurts the pro-life movement but you claim to be pro-life.

And choose not to continue discussion because you don’t care for the sources? And polls don’t lie folks. I’m sorry if one does not like Christians to use their sources. I figured, any time sources are used and these are from polls, there is a risk someone will attack the sources instead of engaging in debate.

God Bless! Have a nice day. Put down the pro-life movement again and if I see it, I will defend it again.

Polls show people, that the majority of Americans lean pro-life. So, speaking down a whole segment of the population and saying there is something wrong with the movement does not seem valid.

Credible pro-life leaders are concerned about the image and sustainability of the movement. For example, Mark Crutcher, the president of Life Dynamics, and Troy Newman, the president of Operation Rescue, have published this article on the Life Dynamics website, which is one of the most credible pro-life sites out there. I share many of their concerns:

If you stay within the alt-right echo chamber, you are going to hear what you want to hear. If you are really interested in how movement leaders think, you are going to have to rely on more credible sources.

Um, like wow. I’m a pro-life advocate and I completely agree with your sentiments about the movie. I’m glad to see others feel this way.
