In bringing Bishop Vigneron back to Michigan, it is quite possible that the “problems-overlooked-by-frommi” are more visible to those with eyes to see.I doubt he’s getting 5 auxiliaries anytime soon…for starters, that’s too many auxilaries for Detroit…Chicago only has 5 right now…and our last ordination was something like 3 years ago.
It’s always good when a local priest comes to lead a diocese.
I, of course, find MrS laughable in his assessment that all these new bishops are better than their predecessors. It’s not a game of comparisons, each episcopal reign is different than the previous…different than the next…
I would not doubt the Cardinals Rigali and Szoka had a voice in this decision.
If the changes made so far by Carlson and Boyeau are seen as positive, how can anyone deny they are better than their predecessors?
I would not be suprised to see Fr Riccardo as a bishop soon either.
