Russia looking more and more like the voice of reason, while America becomes the voice of insanity.
Don’t kid yourself, Russia is only serving themselves. They could care less about Syrains. As for this, the US is doing nothing and we’re still getting the blame? The only nation I see getting involved with Syria is Russia who has been selling war choppers to the Syrian gov’t to use against their own people.

I don’t think Russia’s motives are so pure either. That being said, I have absolutely no idea which is the course that should be taken regarding Syria. Are countries supposed to support the known commodity, Assad, and overlook the violence and abuses of his regime? Or are they to throw their support behind the rebels, who as yet appear, at least politically, disorganized? Remove Assad, and it’s anything but certain that the rebels will be able to fill the power vacuum left behind. And if they do fill it, then there’s the issue of what they will fill it with.

The only thing that I feel certain of is that Syria and her people need our prayers more than ever as they move through these very uncertain and dangerous times.

Precisely.

The opposition in Syria are terrorists and Assad is the good guy killing with his army his own people ?
Catholics and Orthodox on the ground in Syria are saying that the opposition are Islamic extremist terrorists. Don’t buy into the lies that the media feeds to you. I know people from Syria and they corroborate this. They would not say that Assad is “the good guy”…but he protects Christians. If he goes down…you will see the destruction of the monasteries and Churches…and the mass murder of Christians. Russia knows this…and we should too.

Politics in the Middle East is “one gang against another”. Christians are too few to have their own “gang” or power base. Thus, to survive, they must ally themselves with some other gang. In both Iraq and Syria, that gang was the Ba’ath. Terrible that they will pay the price at the hands of other gangs now. But they will.

Even major American newspapers are now admitting that the so called “Free Syrian Army” along with the CIA are operating out of Southern Turkey. This makes those areas of Turkey legitimate military targets for Syria, YET, if that were to happen, America as a NATO partner, could then openly enter the conflict to help Christian persecuting Turkey.

Yes. It breaks my heart.

Romney’s position on Syria directly endorses terrorism.
And in Obama’s War in Afghanistan the U.S. is killing civilians by the hundreds with predator drones.

It’s called Collateral damage. If the citizenry does not want war in their countries, then they should not elect/allow Islamic Terrorists.

If the U.S. does not want war then the US should repent of Abortion and not elect Pro - Socialist/ Abort leaders.

But that is just the point. Assad is part of the bath party and doesn’t endorse or tolerate Islamic fundamentalism. He protects the minority religions and especially Catholicism and Eastern Christianity. Romney is completely wrong on this issue, even more so than Obama.

Alot of people have died in Syria because they were trying to violently overthrow the government. That is typically what happens in a revolution. Does anyone believe, large numbers of people wouldn’t die if thousands of armed people attempted to topple the government of the US, UK, Turkey, etc ?
I don't see where Bashar Al-Assad has been such an evil ruler. No, Syria hasn't been a democratic country, but if that's justification for a violent uprising, then we better support similar actions all around the world wherever they don't have free elections. Assad until recently has done a good job of protecting Christians, Shias, Alawites, and Jews. And despite his being a staunch opponent of the State of Israel, he has invited Syrian Jews to return.

First of, it’s Ba’ath Party…not bath party.

Second, Assad doesn’t endorse or tolerate Islamofascism?
  • Assad has been accused of supporting the Insurgency of Iraq
  • Assad is known to support anti-Israeli groups
  • Assad said in 2006 “your warplanes, rockets, and your atomic bomb will not protect you in the future.” in regards to Israel…sounds more like something Amadenijadyabadabbado!
  • Assad supports Hezbollah and has criticised Hezbollahs critics
  • Assad demanded an apology from Pope JPII over the Crusades (yet never did the Muslims apologize for their actions)
Seriously dude…why do you speak of things you know nothing about? :nope:

More propaganda from the Russians I see.

Don’t forget Syria’s long time state-sponsorship of Hezbollah.

So then you would rather see an Al-Queda run Syria with Sharia law and all the Catholic/Orthodox Churches and monasteries destroyed and the Christians murdered?

I’d like to not be involved when two great evils are fighting each other. The US is not getting involved and should remain so.

I think the U.S should get involved. We are Christians first and foremost. I would like for my country to make it a priority to protect Syria’s Christians. Syria has many Orthodox and some Catholics…I think that is part of the motivation that is driving Russia…to protect the Christians (Russia is mostly Orthodox).

But of course my country is attacking Christians in Her own backyard in a different way (hindering businesses opposed to gay “marriage”, abortion on demand, forcing contraception coverage, eliminating the Cross/ Nativity scenes, etc., etc…)

The U.S. wants to get involved in Syria…to help the terrorists. Unbelievable!!

Bravo to Russia!
