LOL. I didn’t say I would whap him upside the head. I said I wanted to. And actually, St. Athanasius would quite literally have whapped him upside the head. 😉 He had no patience with anti-Trinitarians who pretended to be Christians… and was not shy of getting physical with them.
NO actually it was St. Nicholas (Santa Claus!) who bopped Arius upside the head at the Nicene Council. . Remember that the next time you recite the Nicene Creed. 😃

I tend to go with the last sentence in the above paragraph. 👍

Don’t get me wrong----it IS ultimately Europe’s business----after all, the President IS the most powerful man in the world, after all----his decision’s DO affect the whole world--------but Europeans need to learn----it cannot be THEIR way ALL the time-------it doesn’t even mean they are always right, anyway.

What do you think? Discuss. (And please try to read the whole article first). 🙂
Nobody??? 🤷

Yes, and the polls that are being run by the big news outlets like CNN are using 2008-derived sampling techniques, which means they’re vastly over-sampling Democrats, so they’re going to be biased.

Rasmussen nailed 2008. They’re absolutely the best bet. They’re paying really close attention to their sampling mix as conditions change out in the real world (where all the voters are! 😛 )
And trying to figure out who to blame when their figures end up way off.

Yeah, but you won’t hear the blaming until after the election. They want us to believe that Obama’s way ahead now, but he isn’t. The difference between them on most of the polls that are clearly worth anything is actually within the margin of error in the poll.

Every measured or estimated number has a +/- error associated with it. This is the margin of error. All polls have them. It’s probably +/-2 or 3 percent depending on the number of people they’re polling and the design of the poll, number of questions, etc.

There are always some just plain throwaway polls, ridiculous things that are very out of sync with the rest. Anyone can put together a list of questions and call a bunch of people on the phone. Only the best polling agencies like Rassmussen are worth much.

😃

I am involved with the Institute of Catholic Culture, and one of our expert speakers mentioned that St. Athanasius was also given to dealing with heretics in a rather physical manner.

I think it was this one: instituteofcatholicculture.org/saint-athanasius-life-of-saint-antony-of-the-desert/

This is true of most diplomatic situations. If a Socialist is elected in a European country, we have to live with it and embrace it, too. We don’t have to be their best buddy, but we have to be cordial and work with them. Every country is going to do what is best for their people.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Europeans don’t vote in our election, so their opinion doesn’t mean much to me… They hated Reagan; one of our best presidents.

The world is all intertwined. When one giant falls the rest will fall with it. Under obama america will fall and he will take europe with it (economically). Romney has some business sense. Though I disagree with how lavishly he lives personally (since he’s mr. christian). But he at least knows how to make money.

They are worried because they know Romney unlike Obama isn’t going to pay for Europe’s Social welfare programs anymore with bailouts from the IMF and Federal Reserve. So Socialists like Hollande are gonna have to suck it up and cut their own spending instead of relying on sugar daddies America and China:thumbsup:

People in the South have a colorful way of describing the result of the 1st Presidential Debate: Obama got beat like his mamma caught him stealing something!
This goes to show you what happens to a politician that gets caught believing his own propaganda!

Obama epic fail! Romney, gotta like someone who can actually balance a budget in real life, not just talk! 👍

Yup, Romney can do the Math and get things managed correctly for Americans.

Unlike Obama who thinks we have 57 states and throws money around like water on a hot day.

He looked like a cat in a roomful of rocking chairs last night.

And his wife was just plain stunned. Those were interesting pictures.

I agree with this. 👍👍

I really find it shocking how little attention is being paid to the fines that are going to be required from Obamacare. I’m not sure how many Catholics are taking any of that seriously at all. Mitt Romney mentioned freedom of religion last night, and yet I"m not hearing it much in here.

Feedback please.

Romney lives lavishly? What do you mean by that?

I thought he did very well overall last night, but missed a couple of glaring opportunities that were staring him in the face. The topic of role and scope of government being brought up in a debate from a moderator is a gift for Romney, and while he did talk about some things on education and health care, he did not go as hard as he should have on that issue. There were two major areas that he could have hit hard. The first, is what you mentioned, violations of religious freedom and the 1st Amendment. It was low hanging fruit for him, and he should have grabbed it. Second, he should have hammered the 10th Amendment hard and tied it in directly to his points on health care and education, as an explanation for why he thought it should be handled by the states.

The libs think that some “hammering” ought to have gone on too. “Hammering” or even being a little bit emphatic is seen as aggression these days. It actually gets big negatives.

My truth, your truth, you know the rant. :whacky::whacky::whacky: Not that it means anything anywhere but the daft old USA and the wackier parts of Europe, but there you go.
