Bishop Clark was a strong Shepard in Rochester Diocese…NOT!LOL!
Proximity to a school tells you how well catechized its students are?
Really?

And she is happily married…in the true sense of the word.I just found out about Wambach being a lesbian. That’s disappointing and the kiss was a bit much. Oh, well. It’s Alex Morgan I like, anyways.![]()
Indeed. And she is happily married…in the true sense of the word.
As a reminder, one of the rules for the forum is ‘charity.’ Your reading of Path_Finder’s comment strikes me as an extremely strained interpretation for purposes of flaming. I hope you only misread his comment. :tsktsk:And they just won the World Cup. Are you saying that we should have turned away some of the members of the World Cup winning team over their sexuality?
When I was in Catholic school most of the non-Catholic kids were Black.Because parents who are not Catholic would rather have their students segregated from the public school populace. …can I say “snobs and white”?
You gotta keep an eye out for those liberals. They’ll infiltrate whenever they find an open seam. They’re a crafty bunch. And the fact that many liberals infiltrated the Catholic Church as priests, nuns, DRE’s, theology teachers, school principals, etc. ensuring the truth of the faith would not be passed on to thousands of unsuspecting Catholics.
Yes she did…Our Lady of Mercy High School in Rochester, NY. Their former bishop of Rochester had a lot to be desired. I guess that’s why Rochester is known as the San Francisco of the East Coast.
Well Grace…I guess fear and intimidation aren’t working…so let’s go from the sublime right to the ridiculous.
I bowed out of this discussion long ago when it was clear that it was being dominated by ridiculous claims. But this! Oh, my. This is hysterical. I’ve lived here for over a decade and most of my friends have lived here their entire lives. NEVER have I heard this area referred to as such. What a bizarre and baseless dig.
And of course, a bishop doesn’t have sole control over a Catholic school’s curriculum. But why deal with such pesky truths, eh?
I think the discussion is bigger than that.Well Grace…I guess fear and intimidation aren’t working…so let’s go from the sublime right to the ridiculous.Makes no difference to me if the soccer player is gay…and has married according to Caesars law. Kick the ball in the goal and play…win one for the USA! Oh yeah…right…they did that. Hmmmm…so why are there pages and pages of people concerned about her private life?
nah…I don’t know either.
What I would find peculiar would be the folks who, on the one hand say, “What people do in the private lives is none of our business. Sports Person A is awesome at playing Sport B, so who cares about the private life of Person A?”…I think the discussion is bigger than that.
It makes no difference to me, either, whether a soccer player is gay, is part of a throuple, has a porn addiction, is an alcoholic, beats her husband up. As long as she can play soccer, I say,We all have disordered desires. Wambach’s happens to be a sexual attraction to women.
But as far as soccer, I give her a

The bigger narrative is same sex unions being promoted as just another choice.
It’s an immoral choice.
Just like having multiple sex partners is an immoral choice. Just like Tilda Swinton’s putatively polyamorous relationship is an immoral choice. Just like someone enjoying sex with animals is an immoral choice.
And the discussion needs to go on regarding this.
Um, I think I have a little more history than you, as we have family that has lived there for decades, and some their whole lives. Do some research about Geneseo and you will find my knowledge is not baseless. They had an early hand in determining the course of the gay rights movement.

This is a bit off topic, but that’s interesting. I almost went to school there (I didn’t grow up Catholic). I am also not talking about Clark’s governance in regards to schools, but he was big into ordination of women, communal absolution during penance services, etc. Read a site called Cleansing Fire. Anybody who denies the damage he did to that diocese has their head in the sand.
I am not trying to stir the pot, but I have, let’s say, relatives not related to me that grew up and lived there (now most have died and moved away). This is a bit off topic, but that’s interesting. I almost went to school there (I didn’t grow up Catholic). Wonder what might have been…
I will say that we have been considering getting a cat, and naming it Tabby Wambach. But I do think this would probably mean not naming a cat after her even though she’s a great player.
What in heaven’s name does Geneseo have to do with Our Lady of Mercy?Um, I think I have a little more history than you, as we have family that has lived there for decades, and some their whole lives. First, Cleansing Fire is way over the edge – it’s for traditional Catholics and took any and every possible opportunity to slam Bishop Clark and the DOR, even when doing so was an absolute stretch. Nice source. Second, claiming that Bishop Clark was “big into ordination of women” is slanderous at best. He cut off the area’s infamous break-away “Catholic” church that did in fact allow women to celebrate the Mass. Communal absolution (something that was very popular in many dioceses at one time) was also done away with during Clark’s tenure. Your now-dead relatives aside, you might want to do your own research here.Um, I think I have a little more history than you, as we have family that has lived there for decades, and some their whole lives. My research is done. And very thoroughly at that. You may have to do a bit more. My final say…why did +Clark allow an organization known as Fortunate Families as the official gay ministry for the DOR? Also, why didn’t he use Courage, the official Catholic apostolate?First, Cleansing Fire is way over the edge – it’s for traditional Catholics and took any and every possible opportunity to slam Bishop Clark and the DOR, even when doing so was an absolute stretch. Yes, I do keep an eye out for anyone in leadership positions in the Catholic Church that try to change Church teaching and poison the well. You gotta keep an eye out for those liberals. They’ll infiltrate whenever they find an open seam. They’re a crafty bunch.
