It’s related to “homosexualist”
Homosexualist, at least makes sense from a linguistic standpoint. Homophic? …not so much. Barkin was probably drinking heavily when she tweeted.

I am left-leaning politically regarding economics and the social welfare role of the Government.

I am an orthodox and traditionally leaning Catholic so you don’t know what you are talking about.
Did I say anything about you. I said too many people, just like you did in the post I quoted.

You know what is really amazing? Nobody has to watch any show that they don’t want to watch! That TV in your living room? It comes with this thing called a remote, and with that magic device you can change channels to something that doesn’t offend you, or you can even turn the TV off and do something else! YOU get to make all the decisions! You don’t have to wait for the government or the local affiliate to do it for you!

You know what else is amazing? The local affiliate gets to decide which shows will be better for it’s business.

I suggest turning off the TV for good. People lived just fine for thousands of years without an idiot box telling them what to think. Want to know where morals and decency went in this country? Just turn on the TV… It has a brainwashing effect, whether people want to acknowledge it or not.

You’re absolutely right, but I’m addicted to NCIS.

I don’t watch NBC anyway…nothing good on that station since the years of The Cosby Show, Cheers (I liked the theme song) and Family Ties. I want some good wholesome television shows back…we used to have Retro…but our cable company and local ABC affiliate decided to nix that channel and replae it with another exercise/eat well/blah blah channel…that show had Lassie on saturday mornings.

I watch one show on the main big channels and that’s Once Upon A Time on ABC…otherwise I usually have on EWTN or maybe Disney.

The playboy show got nixed…hopefully this show will also get nixed.

But why wait for them? Be a grown up and make your own choices about what will come into your home.

The same people who scream and yell about the “nanny state” when it comes to 32’ounce sodas want the government to be the parent and police media content for everyone. Doesn’t make sense to me.

I don’t know why I’m even arguing this. I don’t even watch NBC. Chalk it up to my lack of education.

Grimm is a good show…only one on NBC that we watch (online). It is fun to see local sites/businesses too - including Voodoo donuts…yum!

Interesting topic.

I agree wholeheartedly that we all have the right to not watch what we find to be objectionable. Besides… I’m more of a CBS guy myself. Shows like Person of Interest, NCIS, and NCIS Los Angeles are weekly viewing at my place.

As for “The New Normal”… I find it funny they want to call it normal, and trying to tell us it IS normal.

A privately owned network may broadcast whatever they wish (as long as the FCC is ok with the content), and it is up to US (the CONSUMERS) to watch or not. Luckilly, with the advent of cable TV, and satellite dishes, we have more options than ever.

The Utah affilliate won’t air the show because of the Mormons in Utah. It would be bad for their business. By airing the show, KSL could lose MILLIONS by angering it’s viewers. Money talks… you-know-what walks.

I’m voting with my remote control and not watching the show. I’ll be happily watching Boston Bruins hockey on Tuesday nights on NESN (pronounced ness-en); or watching the more manly shows on CBS.

ABC Family will be have a program written my Jennifer Lopez about a lesbian couple and their diverse family called “The Fosters.” It is about two women "raising a 21st century, multi-ethnic mix of foster and biological kids.

USA Today newspaper.

In the beginning, TV policied itself so much that there was quite a controversy when the first deoderant commercial aired, the product was too personal. Men and women who were playing married folks slept in twin beds. That kind of self censoring went a bit far. Today everything is fair game on television. We have contraceptives being advertised day and night, erection pills and personal products for conditions involving the things that can go wrong with a woman’s body. Nothing is sacred any more. The fact of the matter is that the GLBT community is a small one but they are loud and they get all of the press. The show that the station will not show is about two men living in the state of sin as if there is such a thing as same sex marriage, which of course there isn’t now nor will there ever be no matter what laws are passed to legalize such unions. I applaud the decision of the station to refuse to air this show. It is glorifying the art of breaking God’s law.

As a Catholic, I follow the rule that I do NOT hate homosexuals of either gender. I do not condone their sinful actions that occur when these people pretend to be married. I also will not watch the show and I will find out which sponsors are sponsoring the show and I will not buy their products and I will encourage my friends to boycot these products too.

Judging from other posts on this topic, I would assume I will be assaulted by soldiers of the GLBT front who I ask; “Why are you hanging around a conservative Catholic Christian website for anyway?”

I imagine the TV station knows that the viewers in their area wouldn’t care to see it.
Simple business sense would tell you not to try to sell your customers a product they don’t want. Some people with no business sense at all see a greater good in forcing a private business to carry a product that only a small minority of the audience would watch. Unfortunately, some of the people with no business sense have high positions in the executive branch of government–what else would they do with their talents or lack thereof?

Unless you are Hollyweird…

👍

I love NCIS and Abby Sciuto myself, but I am perpetually dismayed to hear of Pauley Perrette’s warped Christian belief and her strident support of the gay agenda. Luckily she is not permitted to spout her propaganda on-screen and the show is morally inoffensive. My parents love watching it too.

Considering that the television station is owned by the LDS Church, it makes sense that they would choose to not air programs they consider contrary to church teachings.

And the show will still be televised in the area.
“We will air it on the weekends” on Channel 30, said Matt Jacquint, general manager of KUCW and KTVX. “We’re looking for a time slot right now.”
KUCW carries NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” and often picks up sports programming when KSL pre-empts it for General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

There doesn’t seem to be much of a controversy here. 🤷

I very rarely watch network television anymore. Here is one more reason why.
