A few things. One, there is not the slightest chance of the British beginning to carry guns. It is just not even on the horizon, so let’s not get distracted into concealed carry is the answer nonsense. It took eight minutes to stop the wicked men. It was a magnificent response.
Was it enough? No, and questions will need to be asked again, and Theresa May’s strong words will have to translate into something concrete. I am thankful I am not in government cos I’ll be jiggered if I know what the answer is.
Finally, maybe fate conspired to bring three mentally ill people together in a murderous rage. God knows the mental health system in this country is in need of resources. But the inescapable fact is they came together under a banner of Islamism. It’s warped, it’s nowt to do with the Muslims I know, but in their minds they thought they were doing God’s will. Unless there were all simultaneously suffering psychosis, I don’t think it’s helpful to just pigeonhole it as mental illness alone.

From the US to UK there were thousands (many of them Muslims) out protesting travel bans back in January & February. It was stunning.
I recall a Muslim woman handing out slices of pizza to travel ban protesters.

Those who would rather topple Western civilization are doing a tap dance as they do it.

I just saw a picture last night of hundreds if not thousands of Muslims who showed
up on the street in front of Trump tower. I didn’t see this covered on the news so I don’t know if this happened recently. They were praying. I don’t know if they were protesting.

This could have been over the travel bans.

My prayers go out to the people in England.

I think what he was trying to say was - “get real!”.
I don’t know how much Europe depends on tourism to boost their economy, but I don’t
see European leaders making their countries safe for their citizens or tourists. I don’t plan on visiting.

He took what Sadiq Khan said out of context. Khan said: “Londoners will see an increased police presence today and over the course of the next few days. No reason to be alarmed.”, not “7 people have died and 48 injured, but that’s no reason to be alarmed”, as Trump claimed.

I think all he was trying to do was further his own agenda. The victims of yesterday’s attack are worth more than that.

I am not a ‘hater’. I think Trump’s tweet was inaccurate, pointless and just plain wrong for a world leader to be suggesting. This is not a mountain out of a molehill. So many now believe that the Mayor of London said what Trump claimed he did, seen even here on CAF.

Right now, I’m watching the One Love Manchester concert. Another attack that should not have happened, and I agree with your point that our focus should be heavily on preventing terrorism as well as responding as well as the emergency forces and the police have done. But it is uplifting to see the unity and strength shown there.

The problem is that there are instigators in the forum. People who take the topic and paint a stereotype of their opponents to cause stir or hate.

For example, if someone agrees with Trump, then an instigator comes in and says: “Trump is a saint that never does wrong” That is an instigation. Another instigation is “Trump supporters will [fill in the blank]”

This was the same non sense I saw when Obama was the president. All you have to do is replace the name Trump for Obama, and you have the same instigations.

As for the response from Trump. Many people see it as the right thing to say, but those who loath Trump, see the end of the world in every word, and they are the ones who are instigating at the moment. Except when the topic is about Obama or Hillary, then the coin gets tossed.
