I was certainly not thinking of Raymond Burke. I am thinking about the new crop of young bishops around the world, men still in their 40s. That few or none of them are yet cardinals does put a damper on this proposition, however.
That’s a shame. Archbp Burke is a good and holy man who has done a lot to help flush out sex offenders, help victims, and operate transparently.
He will likely be a cardinal in the next conclave. However, given his reputation, I doubt he will garner enough support of the other cardinals. And, let’s be frank: an American pope? I do doubt that will happen. But, as we have seen in the last two popes, surprises do happen.
What is wrong with his reputation? He Confirmed my daughter. He is a very holy and intelligent man. And personable. Ask any seminarian in St Louis. Ask anybody who has personally met him. Have you met him? I have. He is not afraid to speak out for Truth. The seminary enrollment has more than doubled since he became our Archbishop.

The way society has gone you might need to rephrase that, a politically correct gone mad world. gay married Priests ? where will it all end.
The letter won’t cut it, anyway, married men abuse their own, being married didn’t make one bit of difference, apart from having their off-spring in a more vulnerable position, and on a plate.
I agree that being married means nothing when it comes to child sex abuse. If anything the majority of offenders are married and many times the parents or relatives of the victims. Having married priests does not mean we will never have these issues, but, I firmly believe that having a celibate clergy has allowed for a gay subculture to develop in the priesthood. The way things are today few straight men would think about giving up having a wife and family to become a priest. Yet many gay men raised Catholic feel that since the Church calls them to be chaste then the natural choice is to become a priest while you’re at it. Unfortunately these young pious gay men do not know what is expecting them in the seminary. Instead of a place to grow in holiness they may encounter other men as themselves and the one thing leads to another. All I’m saying is that if we are to keep the celibacy law then we must prepare seminarians and provide support groups and psychological help in order to equip them with the strength to be chaste. It needs to be discussed more openly in the seminary and the gay subculture must be rooted out immediately.
Probably, I agree, they apply for jobs that fit their twisted mindset.

True it doesn’t. If we look at these cases we will see that most of them are with young pubescent men not with kids. Abusing a 10 year old is very different from abusing a 15 or 16 year old. Many of these young men have issues that make them vulnerable to predatory men. Homosexuality is a sexual dysfunction and it can surely lead to other things. We need mature men in the priesthood.
Can you provide evidence for that statement? I have a hard time believing the many seminarians in our Archdiocese are gay.
