Yoga begins with Sun worship, That is breaking of the First commandment which has punishment till the fourth generation down the line Deuteronomy 4 :19 And when you look up to the heavens and see the sun, the moon, and the stars, all the host of heaven, do not be led astray and bow down to them and serve them, things that the Lord your God has allotted to all the peoples everywhere under heaven.

Deuteronomy 17:3 by going to serve other gods and worshiping them—whether the sun or the moon or any of the host of heaven, which I have forbidden— 4 and if it is reported to you or you hear of it, and you make a thorough inquiry, and the charge is proved true that such an abhorrent thing has occurred in Israel,

So when you think of yoga, you see yoga as a prayer. I think that may be what the priest in the first post was referring to. I think the one person here says her yoga does not involve any prayer or meditation, much less worship. I am sure Catholics here who have heard the accusation of Marialotry are real careful with the term “worship”.

Bending over and touching your toes is “Satan’s move”? Lying down flat on your back with arms by your sides is “Satan’s move”? Lying on your stomach while using your hands and arms to push your front up off the floor is “Satan’s move”?

Sounds about as satanic as situps, pushups and lunges. And truly many people, particularly children, must frequently be worshipping Satan unawares.

Is yoga about worshiping Hindu gods, or is it about engaging in advanced stretching and exercise?
At its roots, yoga is originated from the ancient worship of Hindu gods, with the various poses representing unique forms of paying homage to these entities.

But I used to DO the stretching - never once had the slightest temptation to convert to Hinduism or believe in reincarnation.
 
So a sacramental will “work” for a non-believer who has no intention of turning toward God?

Just a clarification, I believe yoga to be rooted in Hinduism, not Satanism.

First off, you are quoting a story from October of 2015.

Second, Cesare Truqui is an exorcist for the diocese of Chur, Switzerland. He doesn’t have anything to do with “the Vatican” or the Curia; he’s got his own bishop to deal with.

Here’s a more recent story about the good padre.

Third, Christians have Christian freedom to make their own decisions, if they are not bound in the matter by instruction from, say, the bishops or the Pope, or the Tradition, or accepted theology.

Fourth, yoga as we know it today is the product of Indian revolutionaries ripping off various forms of Victorian calisthenics (some of which were invented by creepy people, and some of which were fine). Then they added Hinduism and pretended it was the same as the ancient yoga talked about in Sanskrit books. Pretty much the same thing as neo-Germanic paganism, National Shintoism as opposed to real Shinto, neo-Celtic paganism, Rosicrucianism, etc.

So if you just want to do Victorian exercises, there’s no danger to it.

If you want to pretend that the stretches and breathing invented by Swedish people are actually forms of sun worship or saying hi to Indra or invoking your sexy chakras or whatever, then obviously you are inviting something occult into your life. And obviously that could work out badly for you.

I actually went the opposite way, I was studying and practicing Eastern religious traditions, as well as the New Age movement, and I eventually came back to the Church. But that’s just anecdotal.
 
It depend on the good conscience ,their Faith. but if he is a wicked person nothing will work

So if a sacramental, given to us by Holy Mother Church for the aid of the faithful, will not have any affect on a wicked person why on earth would we believe that a pagan and false practice would be more powerful?
 
This is how satan tricks us each one according to his or she inclinations and likes and dislikes ,he very crafty and subtle and confuses us and lays innumerable traps for us all the time,and we dont even understand or know it
