Somewhat interesting, but irrelevant in my view. I want to see polling on undecideds or those who show leans, but not firm commitments, to one of the candidates, who are also likely voters.

I think that the Catholic Church lostI agree with the 7%
I concur. Biden did well early, was relaxed and I thought connected more with the audience. The 2nd half saw Ryan doing better.I call it a draw… Biden early did well, Ryan did well through out most of it though being a nice guy may have taken a few punches early on… debate is probably 'inconsequential" as a whole.
Catholicism is a proposition. Most people embrace the majority of this proposition, even you.The position of Ryan and Biden was the same on this though both put it slightly differently. Biden said it how it was; he doesn’t believe that Catholicism should be forced upon the people by the Federal Government. Ryan essentially said the he has personal principles that are being sacrificed for the ticket on this issue.
+1I think that the Catholic Church lost
CNN’s Gloria BorgerRyan was more presidential
twitter.com/alaskan/status/256584969625931776Biden was condescending
I don’t know about the likability of all that smirking… thought it was condescending
Wow Chris Wallace said of every debate he’s ever seen, he’s never seen someone as “disrespectful” as Biden–called it “unprecedented”
I think the problem with Ryan was that he sounded like an infomercial and I was expecting to hear the QVC number pop out of his mouth after every pause. Too many rehearsed lines and almost no passion in comparison to Biden.Overall though, I think it’s clear he won. Apparently that’s not the opinion here, but he consistently fact-checked every one of Ryan’s statements, and they were all found wanting. Ryan’s policies were all hypothetical and vague, and his criticisms were all hypothetical “hindsight is 20-20.” He was particularly demolished on foreign policy.

And I thought Biden was trying to sell a Shamwow™. I particularly liked the way he continually referred to Benjamin Netanyahu as “Bibi” as if they were spending weekends together in Haifa, rather than snubbing him to go on The View.I think the problem with Ryan was that he sounded like an infomercial and I was expecting to hear the QVC number pop out of his mouth after every pause. Too many rehearsed lines and almost no passion in comparison to Biden.
That was definitely part of the problem. The other part was that most of what he said utterly lacked substance. Biden was far more successful than President Obama was because he actually called Ryan out on that.I think the problem with Ryan was that he sounded like an infomercial and I was expecting to hear the QVC number pop out of his mouth after every pause. Too many rehearsed lines and almost no passion in comparison to Biden.
Biden could have convinced me, but then, I caught him in some blatant lies. (like no Catholic org will have to pay for abortion or sterilization) So then, I figured those times he almost convinced me are probably well delivered lies. And that he kept referring to protecting the middle class, trying to make them fearful, antoehr indication to me that he’s willing to lie.
.
This debate was not about the Catholic Church. It was about what is best for the US of A. It just happened to be between two people of the same religion.I think that the Catholic Church lost
