As an aside, have you noticed how the liberals have backed off Democrat support? It’s Mitt & Paul who are both appearing on uber-liberal “Daaaaavid Letterman.” And as far as Barack is concerned, Oprah has disappeared; Barbra Streisand evaporated; even the AFL-CIO unplugged. To the liberals, Barack isn’t Big Bird, he’s “Count Barackula” because of his promise to tax the rich at a 44%+ rate even as Canada dropped their tax rate. With Obamacare being declared a tax, everybody’s taxes are going up, accounting for AFL-CIO withdrawal.

Joe Biden vs. Paul Ryan? Biden wins the vice-presidential debate on rhetorical acumen. Yet Paul Ryan has given a convincing tutorial on the strength of bipartisan strategies, including tax reform, like raising revenue by lowering taxes like Ronald Reagan and John F. Kennedy.
"John F. Kennedy?!?" --Jokin’ Joe Biden
Democrat funding has been drying up throughout 2012, and Jokin’ Joe sent an email begging for donations saying, “This is how we could lose the election.” That and one sorry track record. Back to the debate:

BIDEN:
“I do not believe that we have a right to tell other people, women, that they don’t have a right to control their body.”

BIDEN:
“No religious institution Catholic or otherwise…hospitals…None has to either refer contraception, none has to pay for contraception…”

RYAN: “Then why do you keep getting sued (by the Church)?”

Robert Bork got Borked again by Biden, described by Biden as part of the “far right” that would “outlaw Planned Pare…Uh, abortion.” --Jokin’ Joe Biden

As with Barack’s performance, Joe’s stellar campaigning would have been likely to be believed about four years ago. That track record just…won’t…go…away. Who ignited imagination? Paul Ryan, brains and “former personal trainer” brawn. Paul Ryan’s guns are making the news, not Biden’s bloviating debate performance. Paul Ryan declared most meme-worthy. Good night, Joe. Ryan was 3 when you first took office. Thanks for your service. Adieu.

freebeacon.com/biden-claims-he-voted-against-afghanistan-iraq-wars/
Vice President Joe Biden accused Rep. Paul Ryan of putting two wars on the “credit card,” and then suggested he voted against the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
“By the way, they talk about this great recession like it fell out of the sky–like, ‘Oh my goodness, where did it come from?’” Biden said. “It came from this man voting to put two wars on a credit card, at the same time, put a prescription drug plan on the credit card, a trillion dollar tax cut for the very wealthy.”
“I was there, I voted against them,” Biden continued. “I said, no, we can’t afford that.”
Then Sen. Biden voted for the Afghanistan resolution on Sept. 14, 2001 which authorized “the use of United States Armed Forces against those responsible for the recent attacks launched against the United States.”
And on Oct. 11, 2002, Biden voted for a resolution authorizing unilateral military action in Iraq, according to the Washington Post.
The man lied about voting for 2 wars in which thousands of Americans have died, then tried to use those wars as a stick to beat his opponent with. I don’t trust him and want no part of him being a heartbeat away from the Presidency.

:confused: Biden sounded frustrated and upset, that’s not passion.
Ryan seemed prepared and clear…rather have that in my white house
Biden seemed frustrated and upset because his opponent was speaking fluffy words with no substance. I appreciated Biden’s ability to knock them down.

Example: Ryan’s (continued) refusal to explain how he’s going to cut taxes, keep the biggest loopholes open, and increase the defense budget.

If I was debating a guy who was promising something MAGICAL like that without providing any details I’d sound frustrated too. And that “attack dog” tone is Biden’s trademark anyways, I think it works well for him to the general audience.

Again, I don’t support the man because of his blatant hypocrisy on the abortion issue, but aside from that question he was FAR stronger on facts this debate.

And I thought Biden was trying to sell a Shamwow™.
Well, at least we know what he’s selling. We’ll have to wait for a bipartisan committee to figure out what it is Ryan is selling. That’s THE issue with the Romney/Ryan ticket; they have no plan and they’re just groping about in the dark riding an anti-Obama wave. What would you do differently with Iran? No answer. Which deductions? We’ll just leave that for Congress to figure out for us. Etc.
I particularly liked the way he continually referred to Benjamin Netanyahu as “Bibi” as if they were spending weekends together in Haifa, rather than snubbing him to go on The View.
As Biden pointed out; Obama spent an hour on the phone with Netanyahu before he gave his UN speech. If you want a meeting with the President you schedule it in advance not just show up in NYC expecting him to show up at your door.

Cnn dial test showed Ryan at top with men and women, very turned off by biden smirks, interuptions
Per @CNN says among undecideds, it’s a dead heat. 1/3 say Biden won, 1/3 say Ryan, 1/3 neither/both
CBS News poll of uncommitted voters who watched debate: 55% say they can related to Biden, 48% say the same for Ryan. Both gained ground
Women in Fox focus group matching CNN’s in saying Biden was disrespectful
CNN Focus Group: Ryan won regarding who was better for the future of our country

They have a plan. The details will have to be hammered out by Congress.

In other words elect us - we will accomplish the following - details to be worked out in a bi-partisan fashion. (the bi-partisan part does scare me though - usually we get hosed)

Obama despises “Bibi”. He was caught on a hot mike months ago complaining about having to deal with him.

Ryan said he wanted for congress to come to those decisions bipartisanship… but you might have missed that under Biden’s jeering

And I don’t think either won this debate. Biden succeed in derailing Ryan and pushing his talking points, but Ryan didn’t get intimidated. So that chalks up as a R/R win, cause thats all they needed

Not so. Visit the campaign website, you can see it laid out pretty well there. The “they’ve got no plan” argument is just a cover for current policy failures.

Especially when you’ve got such pressing matters as The View to handle?

That’s just another way of promising the (name removed by moderator)ossible when in fact you have no plan for it.

A plan requires details; what they have are policy statements. When you’re promising the moon you’d better have some meat and potatoes to go with all of the fluff you’re peddling otherwise you’ll find yourself as a lame duck president waiting for a deeply partisan Congress to do something other than bicker and throw legislation around out of spite. I for one don’t want to see anyone in the White House who doesn’t have a clue on how to accomplish anything that he’s promised.

Example: Ryan’s (continued) refusal to explain how he’s going to cut taxes, keep the biggest loopholes open, and increase the defense budget.
If you raise taxes on the very rich, they just hide under more loopholes. Which means Obama won’t get more money from the rich, he’ll only get it from the middle class who doesn’t have the ability to hide their income.

Romney is saying that he will lower the taxes and eliminate the loopholes. That way, the rich will truly pay their fair share.

Wow, Biden is the poster child for his party. Rude, obnoxious and condescending.

I have also noticed the Christian Right vanished from this political campaign. Something about not being able to stomach an LDS for President (evangels/fundies have been preaching for years how LDS is one big cult) and a Roman Catholic Vice President…? Jerry Falwell must be rolling over in his grave for sure. Keep in mind, the Christian Right/Coalition never opened it’s arms to Catholics…ever. The Republican Party now must rely on big money vs. the big mouths of the CR/C.

Ryan said he wanted for congress to come to those decisions bipartisanship… but you might have missed that under Biden’s jeering.
Let me get this straight: Ryan is promising to CUT taxes, keep the BIGGEST corporate loopholes open, and INCREASE the size of the military… And he intends for this to occur in a bipartisan manner?

Politically and mathematically: NOT possible. Just a way of promising everything to voters with no practical way to actually accomplish it.
