Wish there was a “neither” option for the poll. Some things are more important than elections, like eternal life. No Catholic can win a debate when he accepts any exceptions for situations where it is OK to murder an unborn child.

Ryan has totally compromised himself and his Catholic Faith. Biden did that a long time ago, of course. May God have Mercy on their eternal souls and help them to see the Light.

Not at all what was said. Two choices, Obama and Romney, which is a giant step in the right direction? Answer that and you know where to place your vote if life is important to you.
Neither. If you are a one-issue voter, then I suppose Romney is a step in the right direction.

I have voted third party in every election I’ve participated in for this reason: I refuse to be given only ONE pro-life option. It’s completely unacceptable that faithful Catholics should feel obligated to vote for ONE guy just because he’s the only one of two options opposed to the murder of innocents. There ARE other options out there, but they are ignored by Catholic voters. If they cease to be ignored, liberal Catholicism will have a voice.

The moderator was absolutely awful. She had no control over the discussion and was badgering Ryan on more than one occasion. At one point, both Biden and the moderator were talking over Ryan as he was giving an answer.

Romney wasn’t smirking and laughing when the discussion was about Iran’s nuclear capability.
Biden doesn’t like non-answers and essentially accusing the Administration of doing nothing to stop it, while not be able to say they’d really do anything differently, is just a lie. I don’t blame him for reacting the way he did. At least he wasn’t grunting and smirking when Ryan was talking about his personal faith. I found Ryan’s behavior more irritating then than when Biden got a few chuckles in on foreign policy.

All Biden needed was to keep people engaged with the Democratic point of view and keep independents from swinging over to the Romney/Ryan ticket. He achieved both.

Its not a win for anyone. The independents haven’t gone anywhere.
Romney up huge with independents

I see a reduction in momentum given the fact that there wasn’t any following this debate. The independents are still on the fence.
You’re right - there isn’t any momentum swing to Obama - that is why its a loss. Obama needed a knockout and he didn’t get it. Didn’t even get a knockdown. More like a split decision. Independents aren’t on the fence - they’re trending to Romney. That could change, but I don’t think the Libya scandal will help Obama - that’s bad news for Obama.

I see where you are coming from, but I respectfully disagree. Ryan’s handling of abortion bothered me as well. However, he was very careful to present what Romney would do and what Romney’s position was. When asked a direct question on his own position, he simply, (and quite obviously) dodged the question.

Again though, I do see your point of view on this one.

Peace,

The only one of those even published today was done earlier in the day. The results of this debate place the independents on the fence.
So these were posted tuesday, that makes them not accurate?

Historically vice presidential debates have not made a big difference

Romney was nothing of the sort. He was polite and cordial, and he set the President straight when he lied respectfully.

Biden was just plain rude.
Not to mention that Obama had 4 more minutes of talking time then Romney did.

I don’t know about the LDS but it certainly is not Catholic. Ryan did indeed say the ticket of which he is a part of does make exceptions for rape, incest and life of the mother. I knew a person who was the victim of both rape and incest. His mother’s brother was serving time for that crime. The child is now in his early 50’s and the apple of his mother’s eye to thiis day. Ryan should not receive the Eucharist. I guess a faithful Catholic cannot run for president/vice president. I’m soooooo disappointed.

Ryan’s position indeed does NOT faithfully represent the Catholic Church. Either the unborn are human, or they are not. It only took a short time for Ryan to compromise his Faith and his Principles for an election. He first did it back when the Todd Akin controversy was going on. I guess only some “Beans” deserve life in Ryan’s new non-Catholic worldview.

If the goal is endingh abortion I disagree. Romney can win. Your vote may be principled and honest, but it would be better spent in the corner of the ticket that can start doing something.

That’s my opinion, you can hold to yours.

I concur… Ryan’s job was to present the platform, he did that. He did sigh hard before hand, indicating that his views are more stringint(sp?).
