If the goal is endingh abortion I disagree. Romney can win. Your vote may be principled and honest, but it would be better spent in the corner of the ticket that can start doing something.

That’s my opinion, you can hold to yours.
I do not think Romney will end abortion. I suppose if he would restore the Mexico City policy, he may save some lives. Has he stated what he would do about the Mexico City policy?

Romney can not end abortion, he has said roe v wade should be reversed, judges he elects could reverse. Obama would elect more of the same pro abortion judges that could put the reversal or roe v wade back for decades

Romney would reinstate the Mexico city policy

Romney’s pro life agenda he would take as president

As long as faithful Catholics have that attitude, we will constantly and consistently be forced into voting for one candidate. That robs faithful Catholics of a voice on every issue but one. Social justice, poverty, international peace… we have no voice in any of those things as long as we continue to be forced into voting Republican because we want to stop the murder of innocents.

A third party vote OR persistent badgering of the Democratic party to change their platform (likely by victory of a pro-life democrat in a primary election) is the only way to change anything.

Yes, he has said he will re-initiate it.

Ryan’s position indeed does NOT faithfully represent the Catholic Church. Either the unborn are human, or they are not. It only took a short time for Ryan to compromise his Faith and his Principles for an election. He first did it back when the Todd Akin controversy was going on. I guess only some “Beans” deserve life in Ryan’s new non-Catholic worldview.
Nonsense, Margaret22. And unfair. Romney will help give us a surpreme court that overturns Roe V Wade. Without that, you won’t get a chance to curtail abortion laws in the slightest.

Margaret, knock it off with the straw man arguments: “Romney won’t end abortion.” Who said he would? He will work to overturn Roe V Wade. Or do you not like that? Do you want to keep abortion on demand the law of the land? If so, then vote for Obama, not Romney.

Good luck finding anyone with the legal standing to challenge it no matter how many right wing justices are used to stack the Court.

It was difficult to pay attention to anything because Biden kept laughing and puffing and interrupting. I was finding it hard to take him seriously. Ryan kept his cool and each time he would gain momentum, Martha changed the topic.

From what I was seeing on Twitter a lot was the smirking and laughing and it turned a lot of people off. I don’t think that will sit well with folks. Who knows.

Let’s pray next week’s Town Hall Meeting goes will. Keep praying folks!!! 😉

It will be a tough debate. Ryan will come on with statistics, facts and figures in support of Romney’s proposals. Joe Biden will come out with broad and bold assertions (true or not) and much less statistical information to support Obama’s record or agenda. I don’t think Biden has the smarts to compete intellectually with Ryan, so do not be surprised by the appearance of “Blowhard Joe” at tonight’s debate.
You called it.

Legal standing? What do you mean? And its not stacking the court - get your history right. Stacking the court is increasing the number of justices, not choosing good ones to replace bad ones.

My issue with Ryan’s reply about abortion is that he rightly says life begins at conception. Then how can Romney and Ryan be OK with abortion in the cases of rape, incest, life of the mother, etc.? There’s still a life involved.

Other than that, I thought he did a great job with that question, and good for him mentioning the HHSS mandate.
Because it would alienate moderate voters.
I’ve heard that it is okay to vote pro-life except in cases of rape and incest, because abortion is already fully legal. From that perspective, they’re not making an allowance for abortion, they are trying to limit it from its pre-existing standing. Hopefully someday abortion will be fully illegal, but until then people are inching closer (because full blown pro-life, while right, is not accepted as of yet).

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe I read this from a Catholic source

Thanks for this link. I have had a lot of difficulty deciding if my conscience will allow me to vote for someone (Romney) who has taken so many pro-abortion actions in the past. But I suppose Romney who I consider to be personally pro-abotion yet publicly (now) pro-life, is better than the reverse position that Biden tells us he holds.

I say that I assume Romney is personally pro-abortion, because anyone who doesn’t understand that you can’t make exceptions and slaughter only certain babies, is not truly a pro-life person. But if indeed he would take these actions outlined in the link, more babies would live than they would under Obama. I do believe that the guidelines for Catholic voting allow us to take into consideration quantity of suffering in such a way?

I think Biden’s smirks will go down in history like Al Gore’s sighs. Pundits gave the win to Gore but that turned around the next days after voters showed dislike for Gore’s sighs

with critical mass anything can get done… what do you think got us in this mess in the first place… women’s lib was hijacked by a militant minority… and the silent majority had knowingly or unknowingly shifted so far to the left they “let it slide”…

educate, evangelize, enlighten…

PS> Do you need to be right wing to be pro life?
