Judging the actions of others is acceptable, judging the state of another’s soul is the no-no.I believe that judging others is a sin.

Yes, this is the party I voted for in the last presidential election. There is actually a 3rd party in the U.S. that falls in line with many of the Church’s teachings called the Solidarity Party (https://solidarity-party.org/ ). Among the top items is the right of life.
Yeah, good thing we don’t have any STIs in this day and age!In the olden days, women secretly obtained abortions, (e.g. Mom would take the teenage daughter out “shopping” for the day), or were shipped away for nine months, forcibly and permanently separated from their babies, and coming home baby-free. My grandmother told me that there was a saying in the 1920s: The first baby can come any time after the wedding. All subsequent babies take nine months.
STDs like syphilis were rampant and, believe me, don’t spread by monogamous marriage.
Men often had children by their mistresses, or they died young from warfare, disease, or occupational accidents, (mining, railroad, etc.), leaving widowed, single mothers in their paths.
“Traditional families” routinely and legally involved alcoholism, marital rape, and wife-beating.
There were no Good Old Days. That myth makes me shudder, and it’s high time our culture shook it.
I beg to differ. There were a lot of things that were better in my childhood than today. I have many fond memories of the Good Old Days. There were no Good Old Days. That myth makes me shudder, and it’s high time our culture shook it.
Your entire post rehashes my point. Thank you.The “old days” were better in some ways, worse in others.
I think we all do. But every age comes with its trade-offs. Many things are better about the present, and many are worse. We may disagree on which is which, but thinking of them as Good Old Days is inaccurate. Tell me when you grew up, and I can name things wrong with the era.I beg to differ. Meh, every generation says that. It’s black and white thinking. And it would help us all to enumerate why we’re grateful that God had us born in the time we’re in.Those things happened then and they happen now. Difference is it happens alot more today. Things were better. Our society today has slid way down the hill.
Meh, lots of people say that too.Meh, every generation says that
No, actually the Good Old Days were very good and to say so is very accurate. Those days were truly good. Of course, you could find things wrong with just about anything. I prefer to see the bright side of my past.I think we all do. But every age comes with its trade-offs. Many things are better about the present, and many are worse.
