Sometimes we do things that appall us. I think those things are hard to forget. Saul stood there and was the coat check man at a mob lynching. He didn’t seem to forget about it, but I think he let it go. But your incident was only a few weeks ago, and it will still seem disturbing, I’m sure, for quite a while.😦

I agree with NightRider. Don’t focus on her. Don’t imagine her, don’t replay the scene with her. Drop it, if you can.

If you can, it is best to drop off all our sins at confession and then not go over them again and again. You will not get benefit from replaying your part in it either. If you need to, talk to someone about the issue to get some advice, but don’t sit at home alone thinking about it over and over.

God loves you right now, and forgives you, so try to focus on Him and doing what he wants in your life. That includes prayer and service and study or whatever is your thing right now (I haven’t read a lot of your posts, so I don’t know). Pour out your heart and tell God you’re sorry, if that helps as well. But then tell him you love him and focus on him.

How wretched must St. Augustine have felt in his heart once he became a Christian about how he had lead his life before. He was sure smart enough to understand how he had lived. Ask him to pray for you; he’ll understand. Or do a novena to St. Joseph, the very most chaste spouse of the Virgin Mary. He’s a fatherly figure. Ask him to pray for you to put this thing behind you.

As I looked at her enter the confessional through the closed circuit TV, she was there for a long time.
Your parish has a closed circuit TV trained on the confessional???

Sounds like a gross invasion of privacy to me. You wouldn’t catch me going to confession there!

:rotfl: My FORER parish has the camera, one of many around the church, pointed at the outside of the confessional area, it covers a whole area, and there is no confession door so one can actually see from a distance the person kneeling.:rotfl: I personally go to confession now ONLY totally at churched in which the priests don’t even know who I am, (not a parish member=a stranger) and the use of total anonynominity, and the SCREEN!!

So, you don’t call her anymore and she’s hot? You disgust me… Just kidding. 😃 Actually, it’s a good thing you ended it because from past experiences, temptation always gets me whether it be a year or a month.

Now… Do you still have her number? I have a friend of a friend who would like to get to know this girl so he can “convert” her. 😃

Again, another joke.
Umm, she was a real seducer, man I tell you, so much so she seemed freaky. A nympomaniac??:hmmm: .
Well, I am sure I will sooner or later see her again, in my area, she lives not far from me. Though i doubt she would want to speak with me, she did not “GET IT” that night, so she probably has moved on to other prey. I think my inner inclinations to LUST in my past, will hate me for not doing more, and will pursure my mind for again wanting in an inconscience way to “be with her” again. She just seems like she has very little low self esteem and I don’t know, weird. How many men must be USING her, I wonder? She described it as a DAILY thing.:bigyikes:
Why don’t I ever attract the decent women?? All throughout my life I have always attracted the Pervert ones??

Did I also mention she acually told me that if by age 29 she is not “married she wants to be a nun”?

…though I went to confession, etc, and am praying, she keeps popping into my mind, and this makes me suffer actually.
Impure thoughts that come into your mind are not sinful - dwelling on them willingly would be. Just keep batting 'em down one at a time. If it’s causing you to suffer, then offer the suffering up for all the imorality going on in the world…for all the souls out there addicted to pornography and what not.

If this sounds easier said than done, it’s because it is 🙂

I’d strongly suggest reading Romans chapters 5 & 6 daily. And pray of course - and stay close to the Sacraments.

If you find yourself continually “burning with passion” to the point that it’s causing you grave spiritual harm, it may be a sign from God that your vocation is to the married life and not the priesthood, in which case it may be time to start looking for a good Catholic girl that’s gonna help you get to heaven :-).

The girl you’ve been talking about sounds like she needs your prayers and perhaps a good shrink, she certainly doesn’t need another notch in her night stand. Don’t go there brother - you’ll be sorry if ya do. Mark my words.

-Peace in Christ-

Are you attracting them, or are they attracting you?

Honest question. I’ve been there and done that too many times before returning to the Lord - got the scars to prove it my friend.

So true, thanks, I think there is something in us men that yes, wants a nice decent pure woman for a wife, but also is fascinated by the LUSTFUL wild ones too.

Anymore cooments are welcomed, thank you all so much.:)

Pardon me if this is too blunt…

I think you are indulging your fantasies about this woman by continuing your attempts to evoke conversation about her.

The fascination is a temptation. And the temptation is based on a lie. It promises one thing and delivers another. True happiness, satisfaction, and fulfillment can only be found in the ways of Christ our Lord.

Don’t buy into the lies of the great Deceiver…he doesn’t want your happiness, he wants your misery.

Exactly! Make the good confession and then forget all about it.

Thannks, best advice yet. Today, I will go AGAIN to confession. and forget no only about THAT experience, but all the anguish at the previous job, the angers, the lust in general, the times when I (a recovering alcoholic) have fallen into a addictive type of personality or picked up, whether alcohol (last Summer) or prescription/addictive medication (sedatives, etc). Any mind altering substance.
I will forget about even yesterday (though it was good, saintly and peaceful, and live ONE day at a time, yesterdays gone, tommarow yet is not here, and all I have is NOW.
Can you pray for me? Thanks.

I’d have to fully agree with DD here.
Lemme just get your attention with a passage of Ecclesiates that makes a tremendous amount of sense and that us guys just flat like to ignore until it’s just too late:

Ecclesiastes 7 :27 And I have found a woman more bitter than death, who is the hunter’s snare, and her heart is a net, and her hands are bands. He that pleaseth God shall escape from her: but he that is a sinner, shall be caught by her.

There’s a lot of stuff in life that will betray us but the wise man (and woman for that matter, since it cuts both ways) learns to put the security of their soul on a high enough priority that we don’t find ourselves in a trap, a net, and in bands.
Pax vobiscum,

Pax vobiscum,
I wrote the passage down, and will read it daily. Thanks, wow what a wise author of that passage in the Bible.

Pax vobiscum,
Dear friend

Oh so it is women who corrupt men and men are not in charge of their own sin, but women can beguile the man to sin because man is so stupid eh?

This sounds like the cry of Adam in the garden…‘it was her (Eve) who made me do it, the sin is not mine.’ When clearly the sin is of both man and woman!

You know there are plenty of men out there who desire to use women for their bodies and tempt them into sex but you don’t hear women moan on and on about it, we just resist it! Take a leaf out of the women’s book on this!!!😃

God Bless you and much love and peace to you

Teresa
