What’s the most irritating pro-abortion argument you’ve heard?

No I did not. I asked what you would do to reduce them. And the answer is…nothing.

Thanks for your (name removed by moderator)ut.
my error, you are correct, you did say reduce and you are correct I want the harder option.

I believe it can be stopped if people are willing

it will take a change of culture and at the present people are not willing to do that on their own. others are enabling abortion so why should they stop? it is legal so it can’t be wrong, etc. people need to understand what it is they are aborting. people need to realize the living thing they created will be their child, offspring, family, legacy: not a choice. it will take time but God can work miracles.

good day

So move on from there. Do you do nothing until that happens? Do you just say ‘We refuse to do anything except demand that it’s illegal!’ That’s a position of someone who has a slogan and zero interest in helping to reduce the problem.

I mean, seriously. I’m pro choice and even I have more interest in reducing the rate of abortions than you do. In fact I could ask all those in this thread who are pro choice what they think could be done and I’m certain they’d have some practical ideas. And if they are honestly interested in doing that then they’d be willing to take a small hit on their taxes to help pay for solutions that would reduce the rate.

But you? You don’t even have any solutions to begin with.

When it comes to those looking at reducing abortions, how does it feel to be in the minority?

Too late. They both died while you were asking for more info.
rolleyes

Actually, that question is an absurd red herring. If I suggested that girls are just as much people as boys, asking “would you save her or him” wouldn’t be any sort of rebuttal.

Then you didn’t need any more information, did you. Why bother asking?
I gather that you’re one of those few people who formulate their best thoughts instantaneously, and who invariably have the good judgement to not reply until they’ve completed the process. There’s no need to be snarky to those of us who are less fortunate.

I see that you’ve conceded my point, though.

I’m afraid I can only reply to what you post. If you have more to add to any given post then I suggest you don’t actually hit the reply button until you’ve completed it.

And the foetus and the child were both female. Too late now, but it seems you wanted to know.

Doesn’t matter. You’ve conceded that it was a red herring.
Sorry, I missed the post where I said that. In fact, I can’t remember doing so. Perhaps because it wasn’t a diversion but an attempt to use a hypothetical to find out if people consider a child to be equal in value or more or less value than an embryo.

It’s an important consideration for those who actually have abortions.

The silliest argument I heard fame from a leftist YouTuber by the name of Vaush who argued that while a fetus may be human life it is not a person. I thought it was the most bizarre argument I’ve ever heard to defend argument.
It’s nothing but a naked appeal to power; one human being over another.
The time worn cry of “you’re not a person”. Too many groups of human beings have been made subjects of others because they are “not really persons”.

Blacks for instance, were given the infamous 3/5 personhood.
How generous of our humanity deniers to allow 3/5 recognition to other human beings. Maybe our pro choice humanity deniers could take some instruction from racists of the past, and at least admit young humans to the 3/5 club.

How about it?

Can we get 3/5 recognition?
Maybe have an auction eh?
Can we start at 1/5?
Please?

This is quite a favourite of yours, isn’t it, goout. Never been able to see the connection with the matter in hand myself, but some here might not have had the opportunity to discuss it.

Yes opportunities.
The opportunity to live. The opportunity to recognize others.

Let’s have an auction. How much is a human being worth to you?
Will you bid 3/5 like 19th century racists? I’d hate for our society to go backwards even from that…

Better 3/5 than 0/5, which a lot of the folks involved wanted. You might want to recognise the debt of gratitude we owe the people who wanted it to be 5/5 for fighting for what they got.

This. Have heard it from friends, and it is truly irritating. Pick a side and own it. Cop out indeed. I think it shows that they haven’t actually sat down and thought through their own opinion, and just want to avoid conflict.

Presumably you want the abortion rate to be zero. If somone agreed with you then would that person be pro abortion?

Anybody who thinks abortion should be legal is pro abortion, no matter what they want to call themselves.

It’s a blazingly simple question. And I don’t know if the person in question has an opinion on the legality of abortion. Just from the fact that he or she wants no abortions to be carried out, would you describe that person as being against abortion or for it?
