My favourite individual verse is Isaiah 41:10, as a real inspiration to me. Something we all need to learn is to trust in God at all times.
Isaiah 41:10 “fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.”
My favourite chapter in the bible is perhaps Luke 1, mainly for the Annunciation passage. It corresponds to my favourite mystery of the Rosary, which I think embodies “joyful” and “mystery” the best. And of course, we can all learn from the Blessed Mother’s example in obedience to God.
Luke 1:38 “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.”
I’ll also mention 2 Maccabees 6, mainly for the “martyrdom of Eleazar” passage, a great example of courage and steadfast faith.
2 Maccabees 6:30 “It is clear to the Lord in his holy knowledge that, though I might have been saved from death, I am enduring terrible sufferings in my body under this beating, but in my soul I am glad to suffer these things because I fear him.”
