These things are also true for men, and yet he does not speak about men’s work as sinful unless done for a ‘grave reason.’ A woman might choose to work for many reasons – dire financial necessity is not the only valid reason to have a job. And the Church does not teach that this is sinful.

I’ve listened to quite a bit of his talks, and yes, I am not a theologian but I have not heard him say anything that goes against any Catholic teaching I have ever heard.

His talks on the interior life and growing in holiness are excellent and much needed today.

My personal interpretation is that HP isn’t “core business” and thus being only “marginal” at best (or tangential, as a cultural/literary artifact) doesn’t warrant a moral position. We all have plenty of things to work on in our own spiritual lives.
What do you mean by “core business”? The morality of HP is not doctrine of the church, and it not addressed specifically anywhere in Church teaching, period. However, the occult is, and does warrant a moral position. Prohibitions against the occult are very much “core business” despite the utter and complete downplaying of the significance (or existance) of the devil in recent times. Any debates about the harm/harmlessness of HP should center on the existence/lack of occult elements in it; any moral view of the book follows logically from this.

Exactly. And apparently the debate couldn’t be “resolved” or “settled” resulting in divided opinions. There are worst things the church hasn’t addressed “by name”.

He is also an exorcist which is why he frequently talks about the devil.
Is he an exorcist correctly appointed. And he was he told to move on from a Diocese or two by their bishops

Being a clergy member highly recommend ducated and appointed in Europe, Don Ruggero has interesting facts and informed opinion on lots of things

Perhaps, but I would think the alleged mass-dissemination of occult spells into common adolescent culture under the guise of fiction would be right up there.

Look for the comments of Don Ruggero in CAF.
I read our dear and missed Don Ruggero’s posts on the subject and thought a lot about them. It seems the subject currently has much broader implications than first meets the eye, and at that point a layman can let the issue rest.

the alleged
Well, about half a year ago I thought the same. But after more research (and some dumb posts of mine) latter I was taken to have reevaluate my thoughts on the issue. The occult is nothing to play with or be taken lightly (as the CCC so well states) but I’ve laid the issue to rest and decided to try and focus more along the lines of the recent ‘Gaudete et exsultate’ which does bring more of a joy with it 🙂

I’m not sure who or where Don Ruggero is, so I do not know what his opinions are about alot of things. I have read a few here once in a while.
Even so I do not know how that would make anything that Fr. Ripperger says incorrect. There are many wise and educated priests.

Do a search on CAF . He as such a valuable contributor here.

Hmm…I wonder what he would have to say about Lydia mentioned in the New Testament…wasn’t she like a businesswoman or something?
