What does politics have to do with religion

Probably the thing I dislike most about trump fans they seems to excuse his poor manners, behavior and rhetoric. I couldn’t imagine Barack Obama getting away with half the crap he says and the accusations. His speech is quite uncharitable and unchristian. Why do his supporters do that? That’s what annoys me.

We are broke. We want wall. DACA increased to 1.2 million. Not good enough. Fight Trump. No lotteries. No chain migration. Just parents and kids. DEMS VOTE NO!
He donated 5 million to states affected by Hurricanes and storms.

Earnings deficit w EUROPE AND CHINA AND INDIA being corrected w tariffs. All are renegotiating trade. No war…

A DEM VOTE= will raise taxes that will send jobs away. Where were jobs when BHO was in?

The amusing thing is that 99% of Trump fans would say the same thing about your side of the aisle.

The sad thing is that both are probably right. I know I am guilty when I get heated

obama’s actions spoke louder than his words. his policies were a disaster for religious people, yet many still don’t see it, as the nones increase, religious rights decrease and the country sinks in an immoral cesspool.

will trump as bad and foul mouth as he is, turn it around for the religious people? he hasn’t made it worse, yet…

the government should be for seperation, but obama wasn’t. he forced Catholics to pay for contraception and abortion pills. he forced christians to deny their beliefs when they were business owners, etc.
 
I don’t see how the two can be “reconciled” either. To eliminate immorality, you have to vote for people who think like you, and not take the approach, “Well, it doesn’t mean that i would do it”.

I usually vote democrat (Obama twice, Kerry and Gore. I think I voted for a republican governor once) though I’m not wild about their stance on abortion and gay marriage. I did vote for our current president though. He’s right about steel tariffs and hopefully he’ll be creating more manufacturing jobs.

Some would argue a Catholic cannot vote democratic at all considering their stances on abortion, gay marriage and assisted suicide.

That’s only because they have been deceived into thinking that if they vote democrats they are somehow undermining the possibility of overturning abortion, gay marriage and are in effect helping.those policies. There is a lot of guilt tripping going on based on fallacies. So if the democrats promise to use resources to help the homeless, a catholic will still vote for the other side because they are pro-life even though the party they have voted for will not help the poor and the homeless, and will not actually overturn abortion laws.

There is a thin line between taking sides based on moral likeability and being gullible.

Yes, I believe you do. Abortion is the greatest tragedy in our era. That said, a political party is not your religion as a result you are free to dislike the Republican party on many issue. I do not like Trump, but if he votes for supreme Court justices that will save lives and the other candidate will vote for abortions at 9 months, then it’s a no brainer.
 
That issue alone. Regardless of if the president seems competent enough to be president. That’s thing, there is more to a political party then whether or not they are pro or anti anything. It’s weird to decide on that one issue. I think it’s a serious one.

through his insurance mandate. he is forcing me to pay for insurance that i don’t want or need and the money partially funds contraception and abortion pills

if democrats win a majority, a catholic voting democrat enables expanded abortion rights and government paid abortions. this is their platform.

voting dem will further erode religious freedom at the hands of your fringe groups unless the scotus pulls their plug.

what has the dems or gop done for the poor and homeless?
