Hi,
I am so far removed from what they did. I do follow Jesus Christ and I try to live a life worthy of Him according to the bible.😃 I worship God all day long in different ways. I worship God within a church building surrounded by Fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. I am doing what Christ wants. 👍 😃
Why would you not want to be part of the Church that Christ actually founded? Especially since you don’t think there was anything too much wrong with it before the man-made religions came along?

Given the choice (and you do have the choice) why not be in the one that Christ gave us?

Hi,
Im sure you know we view What Christ’s church is differently. You think it is membership in the CC. I think it when I become saved and adopted into God’s family,I then am part of Christ’s Church. So you see I am already part of Christ’s Church.👍

But is Christ’s Church just what you think it is, - or is it the thing that it actually was - that saved your soul in say 1401, for example?

No, it is not what I think it is. It is what Christ says it is in the bible.👍 There are so many passages that refer to church as individual people and also as a group of people. The church are believers in Christ.

1 Corinthians 12: 12–31. Those verses sum it up for me.👍 Notice how diverse the church is. It is for anyone who accepts Christ. God did not box us into just the CC.

**This is factually correct. You know your Bible. I’m done posting for the day. Hang in there and God bless you. You’re doing fine.👍 **

I agree with this and don’t think it matters what church you belong to, as long as you know, love and serve God. I know this is very general and simplistic but God judges each of us according to what we know to be true and how we apply that knowledge in our daily lives. 😃

 :yup: :bounce: :amen:
The simplest truths are the greatest truths!!!

But if you know that Jesus founded a Church, and that you can belong to His Church right now if you want to, why would you not want to?

Catholicism, for me, just seems like the best fit to do all that I just mentioned. For others, it might be something else. Afterall, we are all members of Christ’s Church, since we are all brothers and sisters in Christ.
I think it’s unfair to point fingers at each other and say that so and so is going to Hell for not being this or that.
God will judge us accordingly. 👍

But Christ identifies Himself as the institutional, visible Church organization in Acts 22. “Why persecutest thou Me?”

Saul was not persecuting an invisible idea - he was persecuting a visible, institutional Church - attacking its human leadership and those who openly and visibly identified themselves as members.

Saul was not attacking people who were “invisibly joined” to Christ in some spiritual way - he had physical membership lists - baptismal records and records of ordination - he was going after people who were actually registered with real memberships in an identifiable institution - an institution that is still here today.

Jesus identified himself with this visible human institution. He didn’t say, “Why are you attacking a visible institution, some of whose members are really my followers in a spiritual sense, and some of whom are just a bunch of hypocrites with their names on a list.” No. He said, “Why persecutest thou Me?”

Again, EXACTLY, because when a christian is being persecuted it is because he believes and attached himself to following Christ.😃 Even today when people attack christians Christ knows they are attacking Him as well.😦

Saul knew their names and addresses. If there was no visible insitutional Church, then how did Saul get their names and addresses?

Catholicism is the one that comes from Jesus. St. Peter was the first Pope. We’ve been having Popes in the Catholic Church ever since then, with no breaks - the history goes continuously back from Pope Benedict XVI on back to Peter, not skipping any generations.
For others, it might be something else.
But Jesus didn’t give us anything else. Jesus gave us the Catholic Church. Anything else that there is doesn’t come from Jesus. People might mistakingly think that something else has something to do with Jesus, and it could be an honest mistake, but it’s still a mistake.

Jesus only gave us the Catholic Church - nothing else. Jesus was long since resurrected and ascended into Heaven by the time anything else came along.

I know. It’s also the largest religious sect in the world.

I just don’t believe that Jesus would want to build a physical church. When he speaks in the Bible, he speaks of more of a spiritual church, a way to unite humanity. Hence, that’s why we have Christianity. 😃
Catholic means “universal” and the term “Catholic Church” wasn’t coined into phrase until somewhere between 200 and 300 A.D… If the Catholic Church was “THE” Church that all of humanity should belong to, it would have been specifically stated in the Biblical writings, especially since the Bible was composed by the CC.
Since it does not specify, we are left to our conscience to decide. A well-informed conscience will lead someone to the Truth. 👍
Remember, I am a Catholic just like you. I’m not trying to attack the CC or Protestants. :o

Yes and this is called picking up your cross, Christ himself says to do it.

Sometimes that cross is REALLY HEAVY:( But I try to keep my eyes fixed on eternal life and that this life is a blip in time.😃
You know many people spend more time preparing to take a trip in the summer than they do on preparing for eternity in there life time, and sadly many of these are professed Christians.

Saul wrote to the Ecclesia which means “gathering of the called out ones” in each town, read it in that context and you lose the building structure.
