What is really Pro-Life?

We are Pro-life because we respect the dignity all humans. The Pro-Life position is usually associated with condemning abortion (as far as I am aware of). But is not limited to that

In terms of Americans and the second amendment, I really have no say in the matter because I’m from Canada but I would only ask these questions:

Should the right to bear arms include military grade weapons? Is it a need of the American people to have AR-15’s (and other unnecessary high powered weapons) to protect themselves?

It really depends on the individual and their individual circumstances.

If you live in a tough area, perhaps carrying around a lot of money, if might well be necessary to carry an AR15 or other powerful weapon.

Most people probably don’t need it, some people don’t have to carry any weapons to be safe.

Its really a decision for each individual, based on where they are at in America and what threats they face.

I don’t know where we should draw the line, but I know there is a line. I cannot have a nuclear missile in my backyard.

I almost think the prolife aspect of the gun issue is more about how you react in the face of people’s sadness. Treating the victims and loved ones of violent crime with dignity in person and online.

But the question then is, will this assault rifle do more harm then good? (This gun shoots 5-30 rounds. Is that necessary?)

What is the point of having a weapon that does a lot of destruction? What if that weapon gets into the wrong hands in this neighborhood?

Would a weapon that is below an assualt rifle provide the same protection?

Except fully automatic weapons have been banned since the 1930s. The so-called ā€œassault riflesā€ that are being talked about today are semi-automatic weapons, not fully automatic.

I see. but nevertheless I’d still wonder if even assault rifles that shoot 5-30 rounds are necessary for the everyday Joe or Joan?

These are judgments each individual is called to make.

The answer is going to vary from person to person.

Some folks can’t handle this kind of weapon and definitely should not get it. Others will come out with a different solution.

CS Lewis in Mere Christianity remarked on how a very useful word can be rendered almost meaningless by broadening the term too much (his example was the word ā€œgentlemanā€). So I’d keep ā€œpro-lifeā€ to its narrower abortion-related meaning. Notwithstanding, the implications of a deep faith-based respect for human life are legion. Each issue the OP raised could be fleshed out at great length.

The core heart issue is the faith-based view of the eternal dignity of each human life because of the imprint of the divine hand on each of us. There has never ever been a person like you in the history of the world and there never will be again. The heart of God is head over heels in love with each of us individually. Of course, recognizing the magnitude of the value he places on each of us has broad implications on countless issues. But maybe Jesus said it best and in so few words: ā€œYou shall love your neighbor as yourself.ā€

Are there community works or works of mercy that correspond with each of these subjects we are saying are part of a consistent pro-life view? I’m scrolling back up to look at the list now.

Ok. Who needs such a weapon to stay safe?
Someone who carries a lot of money or lives in an area with violent street gangs or terror cells would definitely need to be properly armed and should consider these kinds of weapons.

Thank God, President Trump allows us to be our true selves. šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø
Yea, and the KKK Clans members sure came out endorsing him. Racism and hate is at an all time high because of Trump. Be your true selves huh!!
