There kind of is in Jude 1:7 and Romans 1: 26-27.

He has come here to look for answers: Catholic answers
If he is really serious about an accurate answer, he should contact Catholic Answers directly, not this forum. All he will get is a smattering of unqualified advice from a variety of Catholics.

I object to being put on the defensive by gay people like the starter of this thread. It is a kind of emotional blackmail because they know we are bound to act like nice kind Christians who “love” their neighbour. And if we do speak our mind, then they can feel justified in feeling oppressed. it’s a no win situation for us. We are portrayed as the bully, the perpetrators, when in reality, in society, Christians are the ones being victimised.

I don’t agree with this. It is right of the OP to seek understanding. Sometimes we all struggle to understand God’s love and His will, and His plan for us.

and it reminds me too much of fake left wing journalists on TV who hang guilt trips on Christians. they don’t know how to be professional and ask questions in a non-accusatory, objective tone. We are guilty until proven innocent. You are doing exactly the same thing here.

By now you know why I said that–nothing personal. These threads always attract the usual assortment of dissidents, heretics, atheists, etc.

Just popped in to clarify. Won’t be back. Enjoy.

Acting on the impulse to drink, or to steal, or to engage in immoral behavior, or to assault.
This does not make sexual orientation itself sinful. It is only when you choose to act on it that sin attaches. It is then that your own human dignity and the dignity of the other is violated.

if god is so accepting is loving, and if he knew gay people would be a thing, why did he tell people to write it in the bible? did he purposely want to make gay people feel awful of themselves? people don’t choose to be gay, and people like me cry to sleep and pray for days just to become straight again!
no matter what people tell me, i still see god as harsh and punishing.
i cannot emphasize this enough, but i just wish being gay wasn’t a problem with god.

i have an odd relationship with god right now, i talk to him every day because he keeps me alive and gives me blessings. but everytime i see someone being homophobic i start questioning god.
Do you ever think to die to the self? To be a disciple is to die to the self and be like Jesus for the sake of the Kingdom of heaven.

Dying to the self entails to give up something for thing that is much more valuable.

Like the parable of the treasure in the field and pearl of great price (Mt 18), we are to sell everything (giving up) to buy something which is of great price (the Kingdom of heaven).

When Jesus asks to give up that is because he wants to give us something much better in return.

God bless you.

If you’re suggesting sodomy isn’t sodomy then ok lol

Also men can’t marry men and sex can only be between a man and a woman. I don’t know what kind of logic you’ve been employing to get around that one.

To the OP:
God loves you. He made you and loves you.
We are all sinners. We all struggle with sin and work hard to overcome it. Different people have different temptations and sins to struggle against. We don’t know why God has given some people certain evils to endure and others different temptations, but we trust God is in charge. All are designed to help us be saints.
Any sexual activity outside marriage between one man and one woman is sinful. Period. Don’t listen to those who wish to “water down” this teaching. It is the Church’s teaching for 2000 years. God hates sexual immorality.
Flee this sin, and cling to the God who loves you.

It’s interesting how no one says what’s so wrong with alcoholism or gluttony

Catholics are not “Bible alone” Christians. May God have mercy on you. You are willfully encouraging people to go against the moral teachings of His Church.
