Christians and Jews really have no reason to doubt the veracity of the specific reason for the punishment of the people of Noah (pbuh) as stated and explained in the Qur’an and ahadith because this reason later on became self-evident by way of divine laws.

Perhaps Christians and Jews have heard of these laws?.. They are known as the First & Second Commandments.

It is infinitely better for Christians and Jews to know and realize the specific reason why the people of Noah (pbuh) were punished while they are still in this world than to only find out about it on the Day of Judgment, I would think.

So, according to the Bible, we have the size and materials used in the Ark, the amount of time it rained, how long the waters were on the earth, and where they landed.

So far, from Islam, we have that there was an ark and the world flooded.

In the Bible, we have that men were becoming so wicked that God was sorry he made them in the first place.

In the Qur’an, we have idolatry, but nothing else.

Doesn’t it seem like being SO wicked that God was sorry he put them there mean that they were committing every sin possible? Why would he destroy mankind for ONE sin and one sin alone?

Back to Hamba’s plane crash analogy. In the Bible, we have the type of plane, the route planned, the builder of it, when, where and how it crashed. We do not have the final, specific detail, so it is like calling it “mechanical failure”

In the Qur’an, we have that there was a crash and one cause, but no other info.

Now, if you are flying and I tell you that a plane crashed, the first thing you better ask is if it is the kind of plane that you are on!

I would love to know how much info we have on the building of the ark. How long did it take, what was it made of, etc?

Greetings one and all ~

Why are you all entertaining Hamba about the “flood in the Bible” postings???

The OP wants to know about ""what is the story of Noah in Islam/ quran? “”
Thanks Pam,

Seems Hamba wants to take the people on the ride, which muslims are very famous for, and again I will repeat my question, WHAT IS THE STORY OF NOAH IN ISLAM / QURAN?

Can you please explain where you got the “information for the 7 days notice”???

Thanks
I was having this discussin with one guy from Pakistan who works with me, and he informed me, and as I could not locate it anywhere, i asked this question on this forum 🙂

Next time he does this, have him show you “proof” of what he is talking about.

Have him show you in the koran since it is their “trusted” book. If this “proof” of what he is telling you is not in the koran, then he is just blowing smoke up your chimney!

Be well my dear friend!

Do Christians even know the reason why God brought about the flood?

It says in the Bible because of wickedness, but specifically what kind of wickedness did the people do to cause God to punish them like that?

This is really the most important lesson to be learned from the story of Noah (pbuh) but it seems that Christians do not consider the specific reason for the Lord to mete out such punishment to be an interesting enough subject to want to know about…
Hamba, since you are a muslim can YOU answer the OP’s questions to this thread?

No planes,
No traines
No cars
No chariots
No Bible
No Jesus
No Christians
No Jews
No Easter Bunnies
No telling Christians how to pray
NO to nothing except what the OP asks for based on the koran and based on what islam tradition to these accounts state.
**
If you post islamic tradition, cite your source(s)…!!**

Can you do this Hamba, and Planten, and friedship and to all of the muslim members???

See original inquiry below.
How many days did it rain and which areas did it flood?

Why did Allah allow small children and infants to die in the flood?

How did Noah and his family survive?

The only information I am given is that Noah was informed by allah 7 days before that it would rain as punishment for the people.

No, he’s gone into his “I can’t respond, so I’m just gonna keep repeating my thesis”-mode.

He stated that Christians and Jews need to know why, as if we might suspect God’s actions aren’t just. Then suggests about the case of idolatry. We’ve stated that Christians and Jews worship no one else than God. So he just keeps on repeating, “La la la there’s a reason God did this la la la…”

If he’s trying to look good in front of his fellow Muslims, well he probably won’t encourage anyone but the die-hards. If he’s trying to win Jews and Christians over to Islam, he’s doing the exact opposite.

This is just a reminder to everyone that the topic of the thread is → what is the story of Noah in Islam/ quran?

I see nothing in the title which is specifically mentioning the flood or the ark.

This is the problem with the Christian mindset when it comes to the story of Noah (pbuh) i.e. they are unable to think of anything besides the flood, the ark and the animals on board.

In other words, the story of Noah (pbuh) has for Christians become little more than a popular folklore which is bereft of any useful moral lessons to be learned or taught to their children.

Heck, Christians do not even consider Noah (pbuh) to be a Prophet of God.

Islam however teaches that Prophet Noah (pbuh) was indeed a mighty Messenger of God who was sent to remind his people of their obligation to their Creator and Sustainer that they should not worship anyone or anything but Him alone and to warn them against engaging in idol-worship by erecting statues and putting up pictures of any righteous people among them who have died.

And THIS is indeed the really, really, REALLY important point about the story of Noah (pbuh) in Islam as stated in the Qur’an.

The rest of the story concerning the details of the flood, the ark and the animals is only of minor importance as far as Muslims are concerned because even knowing about these details would not really be of any meaningful benefit to the believer in his or her objective in life of gaining entry into Paradise.

I agree with you that it’s very important, but that obligation is already one of the Ten Commandments that Christians follow!!!

You can no more tell the story of Noah without the flood, the ark, and the animals on board than you can tell the story of Sargent York without mentioning World War I. In other words, there is NO STORY without the events of the story

It is of course essential to mention the flood, the ark and the animals but in the story of Noah (pbuh), it is Noah himself who is the main character and the antagonist are his people who stubbornly and mockingly opposed what he was telling them.

The flood, the ark and the animals on board are the supporting cast to this main story but Christians have somehow contrived to make them to be the stars of the show so to speak.

In Islam, the story of Noah is NOT about the flood, the ark or the animals, it really is about the mission of a Prophet of God named Nuh (pbuh).

The term “wickedness of man” in the Book of Genesis is just too general.

You still have not explained what was the specific wickedness of the people of Noah (pbuh) that cause the Lord to mete out such a punishment to them.
Well it also says their hearts were evil, continually. And the sons of god came onto the daughters of men and bore children called Nephelim.

Christians need to define what is meant by the word ‘evil’ in the Bible.

I submit that ‘evil’ in the eyes of the Creator is NOT the same as ‘evil’ in the eyes of most of the creations.

Remember that the people of Noah (pbuh) erected statues and made images of not evil people but of the righteous among them who have died.

And so, in their eyes, what they were doing was not ‘evil’ but in the eyes of their Creator and Sustainer, they were in fact committing the greatest sin there is when they worshiped someone other than Him.

And when they stubbornly refused to change their evil ways and repent despite being warned repeatedly by Prophet Noah (pbuh) over many years, the Lord then drowned them in the flood.

Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God’s decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them. [Romans 1:24-32]

Hello Hamba, the main questions are following the op question. As the whole thing cannot be fitted in the subject or title line, i asked my questions in the message box. Now if you are evading the question posed than its understandable, but escaping by giving excuses is not what i expect from learned scolar like you.

Secondly you dont know what Noah’s story means to the Christian community. Just your assumption will not help.

The question is on muslim and quranic perspective, so you answer from that point without bringing in Holy Bible or Christian point of view.

Thanks

Hamba, God gave man 10 commandments, and if you think following only one as you seem to keep on repeating, it will take you anywhere closer to God, than that must be the islamic perspective, Not Christian. For Christians breaking even one of the ten, means breaking all.

Hamba, there is one saying which I heard years ago, i will mention it,

You can fool all the people some of the time,
You can fool some of the people all the time,
But you cannot fool all the people all the time, and seems you are trying your best to follow the third line so enthusiastically that you are not even aware of it.
